Study Contest Rules 1 Roy Theater Block ROY, UTAH Beauty Salon under new management of LOUISE BURKHART Open Evenings HOURS: y 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ' Monday Rights Cleared Obscurity about reserve officer rights to reemployment under Public Law 759 was cleared this week in a OOAMA Headquarters letter published to all commissioned per- sonnel. The law provides that reservists who returned to duty after June 24, 1948, vountarily or involuntarily, will get their old jobs back if they get out in four years. A reserve officer who signed an indefinite statement, however, retains his rights only if he is released within four years. A provision in the indefinite service statement leaves the exit door open at any time. The reservist can apply for release from active duty at any time, and will get it 21 months after filing. , Public Law 759 provides for reemployment protection beyond the four year period in certain instances. These include only those cases of involuntary extension which are authorized by. law or situations over which the individual has no control. The law is not intended to cover any period of service which is voluntary beyond the four year period. In commenting on the headquarters letter, Major F. J. Ridder, Chief of Military Personnel, said that there is still a great need for qualified reserve officers. He' said that a "determined effort" will be made here to keep reserve officers on active duty, through a program of personal counseling now New Cabinet Improves Mail Routing O If Proving to be a big help in the tremendous job of routing vouchers, shipping orders,- requisitions and other pieces of mail necessary in supplying equipment to Air Force units around the world is the new mail distribution filing cabinet (above) recently installed in the mail, file and records, branch of the supply and services directorate. The new cabinet is the brain child of Willis E. Fergusson, facilities service shop foreman and embodies ideas of Mrs. Marion E. Stauffer, ' supervisor of the mail, file and records branch. Improved mail routing is made possible by the specially designed features of the cabinet. The fixture, which is of horseshoe shape, has six tiers of pigeon-hole- s, sixteen to a tier. For maximum visibility, each pigeon-hol- e is backed with plexiglass. The pigeon-hole- s in the top tiers have a mirror in the top to afford better vision of contents. Label-holdeon top tiers tilt downward while those on lower levels tilt upward. Mrs. Velma Simmons (left) and Mrs. Barbara Keyes find the new equipment provides, greater speed and efficiency in dispatching mail to the more than 90 units in the supply and services directorate. - rs It's Wiscvay Every Day For urn Wi t Always Shop Where Your Dollar Is King . . . at for good, fine-flav- or Mrs. Edith Gudmundson, base li- brarian, explains rules of the .TO 7 P.M.
