When workers in the aircraft storage area noticed that pheas-- i ants were having a difficult time foraging for food in the deep snows, they decided to do something about it. Several of the men brought feed from their farms and scattered to the hungry birds, others chipped in and bought' small amounts of pheasant food. When the word got around to other maintenance personnel of the destitute condition of the pheasants, they all wanted to help. A large scale donation produced to purchase over 600 enough cash ' pounds of dried corn, enough to take the birds off their starvation diet and even "fatten 'em up a little," according to Ray N, Walker, foreman of aircraft storage branch. Now the birds are fed regularly each morning and flocks of pheasants numbering over 50 in a bunch descend on each of the feeding places,' Walker said.
