Air New Policy on Community Charity Drives The participation of Air Force personnel, both civilian and military, in community charity campaigns has been outstanding evidence of the desire of military installations to assume as good neighbors their full part in community activities. As Hill Air. Force Base approaches another annual Community Chesti campaign, Hill Top Times prints the policy of the Air Force toward such campaigns. The Department of the Air Force permits charitable, health, welfare, and similar organizations to solicit contributions from military and civilian members on a voluntary basis. Individual contributions to fund raising campaigns are looked on as a personal responsibility shared with other citizens. The Department of Air Force encourages voluntary participation by personnel to the extent of their personal desire. no The Air Force announced in a recent directive that it will longer accept quotas to be raised for any campaign, nor will it allow the asmay signment of a quota to any individual. It will permit no action which conbe interpreted as coercjve or contrary to the principle of voluntary tributions. QUESTION: Do you think that to spare the rod spoils the child?
