" OASC Gets Top Rating (Continued from Pag On) lished list of top priority firms hi' eluded the naval depot at Clear field, and Geneva Steel. The WMC order places OASC on this list. A nation-wid- e campaign to re emit 2,000 additional employes by Oct. 31 was announced recently by Col. Paul W. Wolf, OASC commanding officer, in a statement which reflects OASC's acute need for more workers to handle swell inff work loads in both mainte nance and supply as a result of the mounting tide of battle in the Pa' cific. At that time WMC authorized recruiting beyond the nine-staarea extending from Nevada to Minnesota because of repeated fail ures over a period of months to bring the employment level up to approved ceilings. Representatives appointed by the U. Civil Service will attempt to enlist the required 2,000 within the next 60 days and will go as far east as New York City and other heavy population centers, where manpower records show an avail' aoie surplus or laoor Deing re leased from war jobs. Jne reason behind OASCs top employment priority is the loca tion here of three specialized de pots. Several hundred of the re cruits will replace seasonal work ers teachers, students, etc. who will leave as school reopens. te a regulations covering benefits for civilian employes.
