Ten Boys, One Girl To Participate in Utah Turkey Show in Salt Lake x Ten and FFA boys, and one girl will enter turkeys in the Utah Turkey Show to be held at Hotel Utah on Friday and Saturday of this week. The turkeys will be trucked to Salt lake City by Ernest Wilson, local H leader and turkey grower, and processed at the Utah Poultry & Farmers Cooperative plant on Thursday. The local and FFA exhibitors will select two toms and two hens for them to enter in the Utah Turkey show. The group will be guests of the Utah Turkey Show at the annual banquet to be held at Hotel Utah on Saturday night when prizes will be awarded for the winning birds displayed. The turkeys were raised by the junior exhibitors from birds received last spring from turkey hatcheries serving this area. From 25 to 100 birds were raised by each participant m the junior contest. The purpose of the project was to see how the birds would grow out under different conditions throughout the state. The Utah Turkey Show and Commercial hatcheries are cooperating in the project.
