Show Page THE Tw T Tour Edna J. Cazier, representative from Juab County in the State Legislature was speaker before members of the 20th Century club Thursday at the home of Mrs. J. Earl Reid. Mrs. Cazier gave a resume of some of the important issues before the legislature. She spoke in regard to the budget and stated m "If tax reduction is to be tied to m budget reduction, budget reduct- 9 ion must take precedence." She explained how the legislators had tried to plug loopholes and raise additional revenue by extending the sales tax to beer, oleomargarine and cigarettes. A withholding tax also was passed but failed to get the support of the Federal schools, explained some of the pictures. The group also visited the state hatchery and game farm, and then went to the Brigham Young where they enjoyed a conducted tour of the new living center, the science building, the field house, the girls housing units and the Joseph Smith building.
