Girls chosen for this year are Warner and Launa Carolyn Beth Ann Garrett of Nephi, Taylor of Levan and Donna Kay of Mona. The girls that were chosen have met the leadership, citizenship and scholarship requirements of Utah Girls' State. Miss Warner is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Warner; Miss Garrett is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John V. Girls wishing to enter this con test must notify the Ute Stampede Committee, Nephi, on or before May 11, 1957, Mr. Jackson Volume 48, Number 17 Impressive Services Held For Nephi Lady Impressive funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Nephi Fourth Ward Chapel for Mrs. Mary Jane Beck, 83, widow of F. M. Beck. Mrs. Beck, who was known by all as Jennie, died at the Juab County hospital Saturday following an extended illness. Born at Nephi, April 7, 1874, she was a daughter of Langley A. and Sarah Andrews Bailey. She was married to Fred M. Beck January 17, 1900 at the Manti LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS church, and had served in the Stake Relief Society, and had al so been president of the ward Re lief Society and Primary organizations. She was, at one time, president of the PTA, and was a charter member and officer of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She had served as a teacher in both the MIA and Relief Society of her ward. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Nelda Crowther of Provo; a son, L Eugene Beck of Nephi; four three sisters and grandchildren; one brother: Mrs. Bertha Russell of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Kate B. Bowles of Nephi; Mrs. Pearl B. Snarr of Provo and Reid Bailey of Ogden. Services were conducted by Bishop Donald L.
