Beck and Mrs. Jennie Beck were in Logan June 4 where they attended the graduation rites for their son and grandson, Don V. Beck.-Jl- r. Beck graduated from the USAC with a Batchelor of Science degree in education. The Ladies Kensington met on Friday afternoon, June 10, at the home of Mrs. Jennie Beck. The afternoon was spent in social chat and a delicious luncheon was served to the following ladies: Mrs. Florence Worthing-toMrs. Lizetta Andrews, Mrs. Sadie Tolley, Mrs.- Jernerva Jenkins, Mrs. Birdie Jones, Mrs. Reta Ord, Mrs. Kate Bowles, Mrs. John Rendall, who was a special guest and the hostess, Mrs. Beck. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grace and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Barnes and Mrs. Henriette Johnson of Provo returned home Saturday after visiting for the past ten days in Billings, Montana with Mr. and Mrs. Enos Jones and family. While they were in the Montana city Mr. Jones took them for an airplane ride which they all enjoyed very much. Mr. and Mrs. George H. Ostler, Mrs. John A. Park of Murray and Arson Worthington were in Manti Thurday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Worthington. n, re- after attending three winters and one summer. Don was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honorary Fraternity which was established for the purpose of recognizing excellence in the study of History. He received a $1,000 fellowship in education administraton at the USAC. He plans to resume his studies at that school and continue until he receives his Master of Science degree in June 1956. Nephi Lions Club Holds Canyon Party The Nephi Lions Club held their third annual Canyon Cleanup Day Thursday, June 9, at the Bear Canyon Recreation Area, according to Forest Ranger Ha L. Mickelson. Thirty Lion members were present and with the aid of two trucks from Nephi City, they removed two large nearly dead trees, sprayed injurious weeds with weed killer, removed rocks from the picnic areas and redistributed tables. The Lons Club, by doing work that ordinarily cannot be done with available funds, has made this area safer, more enjoyable and pleasant for all who wish to use it, Ranger Mickelson concluded.
