Show NEPHI, THE FRIENDLY CITY AT THE CROSS- ROADS OF UTAH By the Editor Volume 42 Four bits to the hole in one of Bill Tunbridge's Spudnuts, that half yes maybe two thirds of the kids in Nephi don't know what a good old sleigh ride is. My kids are typical I hope and neither of the three has ever had the thrill of going down a good old sleigh riding hill at about teen miles per hour. And that's really a thrilL Bob Howard, better known to a very few as Theodore, was in the office the other day and sorta drifted back to the days when he and some of the other guys used to haul water up on hill to make it all icy so that their big sleigh would go faster. Seems as though the thrill of coining down Neilsen's hill has sorta been lost during the past few years . . perhaps we haven't had enough snow or perhaps we didn't have anyone who wanted to take on a project of getting the ' thirgs in shape for sleigh riding. We feel that Nielsens would cooperate 100 per cent in helping to establish sleigh riding on the old kill if some club, group or church organization could get up the necessary ambition to move a few boulders, a fence etc. Terhaps it would be a good ide.i to fix up a couple or three places perhaps one in the north-eaarea where the kids could really have a sleigh ride and perhaps a couple in the south east area. Who's got some ambition? Mr. Ashworth of Telluride was a visitor in the office today! Neil-sen- 's st Quote from Charles L. Wheeler, President of the Salt Lake Hardware Company: "It's amazing . . . how few of the folks in Sunday Automobile accidents happen to be on their way to Church." Some of the "Harem Cuties" at the Kiwanis show last Friday and Saturday nights really brought down the house! Roy McPherson and V. A. Beck probably will be on their way to Hollywood, any day, now. And speaking of bringing down the house, the king and queen prince, princess etc also crowns didn't seem to fit. Levan Lions and Legion are scheduling a big turkey supper and rabbit hunt dance for Friday If the wifey won't get night. you enough to eat, the serving at he Levan court house will begin at 7:00 p. m., and there will be plenty of jack rab plenty of turkey for all. The big event is in celebration of a rabbit-huheld between the Levan boys and the Scipio boys, with more than 500 rabbits being killed. Yes, they're going to serve TURKEYS. nt We want to say "Thanks" for the City street boys for the way they pushed the snow back at the ward church on several occasions lately. It has been a big help. Thanks again, fellows. First-Secon- d In a letter from Elder LeRoy R. Ostler, who is serving In the Netherlands mission field for the LDS church, -- we are asked to convey to his friends in the East Juab County area his best wishes for an enjoyable Christmas time. In part, LeRoy says: "Now is the time of year when we send our best wishes to friends near and far. Since spare time is ase hard to find as hens teeth, it will be impossible to send cardsd or write to all of you good people back home. May I say to all my very fine friends a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. "I am thankful to those who have taken time to write let ters from home give a fellow that i.eeded push to keep him smiling "I also appreciate your prayers in my behalf. The things which I am able to do don't come alone from my ability but from the faith and prayers of those who sent me and those who are backing me up." "I haven't seen Ken Johnson (the other Nephite) but have heard he is doing fine. "Best wishes!" Elder LeRoy R. Ostler (P. S.
