The principal purpose of the observance is to assemble items which will portray the life and current events of the year 1950 in Juab County, and which will be of interest to the future generation which will open the box at some unknown time. The item will be described to the audience and publicly placed in the box as part of the program. As a special feature all persons will have the oportunity to sign a scroll which will also be placed in the box. The items to be placed in the box will not be made public prior to the ceremony but the committee in charge states that a very interesting collection of items will be made. The Juab High school band. which recently paraded at Long Beach, will participate in the program. The band will form in front of the high school building at 2:45 p. m. and march to the hospital site where the program will begin at 3:00 p. m. The Nephi Riding club made a donation of $20.00 toward the trip, and the Levan Lions club donated $23.00 for the group. These donations are sincerely appreciated. Although they did not receive a trophy nor a place in the the highly competitive review, band received a great amount of applause and praise from the peo ple of the area, who were crowded to the tune of approximately half million along both sides of the line of march. Only one band traveled farther to articipate in the review than did the J. H. S. Band of Neplii and that was the Grandview band of Grandview high school, Washington. The trip was made in a school bus and six private cars. In addition to the band members, 14 people from Nephi made the trip. They included Mr. and Mrs. John Harmon and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Bailey and two sons; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lunt, Mrs. F. H. Beckstead and Robert Beckstead; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lunt; Principal Clarence H. Pay, Director Ballard J. Christiansen and Roy E. Gibson.
