Parent-Teache- rs MARRIAGE IS ANNOUNCED NEPHI, UTaW TIMES-NEW- With the third annual Utah Turkey show scheduled for December 8 and 9, at the Newhouse hotel in Salt Lake City, turkey growers all over the state are eyeing their flocks and their processed birds for prospective entries that will compete for trophies and cash in the dressed classes. According to R. Harvey Dastrup, and Richfield, show chairman, show Marion Olsen, Paradise, manager, this year's show will be limited to dressed birds. Deadline on entries is set for December L All judging and displaying will be in the Newhouse hotel. "We are planning this show to appeal to consumers, turkey breed-erdhatchers, and growers, who are interestd in the urkey indusery said Mr. Dastrup. "We find that turkey is becoming readily accepted as a quality meat for year- round eating. The turkey show the industry a chance to gives amplify this by showing the public the altest methods of marketing and cooking turkey." Mr. Dastrup said that demonstrations will be presented to show how turkeys are easily cut into meal size portions for cooking and for wraping for freezing. Also, latest methods of cooking turkey, both whole and cut up, will be demonstrated. Although the show is limited to dressed turkeys, Mr. Olsen said that the birds on display will give breeders and hatchers, as well as growers, a good Idea of what to s, turkeys. meat-typ- e ' r Page Seven - n . Competition is expected to be rather keen, he declared. Judging will be done by S. J. Marsden of the United States Department of Agriculture, Beltsville, Maryland. Mr. Marsden has been recognized as one of the authorities on turkeys in America and has conducted considerable research for the betterment of the turkey industry, said Mr. Olsen. This year's show will include for the first time a junior division, open to and FFA members of Utah. Winning entries of the junior division may compete for prizes in the open division. Mr. Marsden will also be a 4-- H guest speaker at the annual Utah Federation convention Turkey which will be held in connection with the turkey show. J. Recently two automobile mechanics named Brown (no relation), one living in Northern and the other in Southern Utah, each 47 years of age with 15 years driving experience were in a head-o- n collision. Both cars were demolished COME EARLY AND but neither man was hurt. They also prize the one about the two young men who had a collision, with neither party hurt nor very iittle damage to either car. It resulted in an argument and a fight with both men being taken to the hospital in the same ambulance.
