Show SVuVSB 1 WA&, iU at tU REG ULARLY of tUtak" speaki::g By I ? The Editor 9iWy City Volums 40 Nephi, Juab County, Utah, Thursday, j Boy,h boy, the people of Nephi are surely crabbing about their water bills. As far as I'm con-- f cerned. that's nothine to crab about. I'd darn sight rattier pay a little more for water and be sure of a drink when I get thirsty I'll bet those people in the east-en- d of town who were "high and dry" on numerous occasions during the past few summers when water was low, are not making any "holler' about the rate. We have not gone into the City records, but it is our opinion that the increased water rates, together with the amout raised by the sale of some general obligation bonds, will pay for the pipe line to Bradley's canyon, and for the necessary installations to put the Bradley water into the city system. 'The increased rate will pay off the bonds and we will all have an ample supply of water. Bradley water is slightly softer (exactly how much we dont than the present Rees know) Springs water and Marsh canyon water. The supply will toe con siderably more in quantity, and during that portion of the year of the biggest water use is when the Bradley spring pours out the most water, it is understood. Nephi City has secured under ground water in quantity and in quality necessary for a trade with the Irrigation company for the Bradley water. It is understood that the Irrigation Company and City officials are 'expecting to work out final details of the trade within the near future. Praise will be theirs for some outstanding cooperation. Number 42 Held Levan Lions Wednes. for Hosts To Lorraine Lunt Nephi Club Surrounds Party Choices Both Parties Active During Past Week A cloud of secrecy has sur rounded the activities of the local political parties during the past week, as the date for filmg for the Nephi city election approaches. A convention of Republican voters was held last week, with delegates being named to select the city ticket. There has been considerably activity during the past several days from the Republican group, but C. W. Johnelected Republican son, newly chairman 1949 Funeral Secrecy City October 20th, stated Thursday morning that thinge were "not ready for publication". Whether that means that the ticket is still in the process of completion, or Funeral services were held her Wednesday for Alonzo Lorraine Lunt, 52, who died at his home in Provo Sunday morning of a heart ailment. Mr. Lunt had resided in Provo for the past several years, having moved there during the conv struction of Geneva Steel plant.. Mr. Lunt was born in Nephi January 19, 1897, a son of S. Frankly, we can't find out a thing definite from either party. There are plenty of Jonathan, and Delicious apples for everyone, and these are the best known varieties raised in ' Juab 422,000 Utah this season, County. When you buy apples, finr out what variety you're getting it make a difference. In an eatine apple, the average person likes a moderately large colorful apple which has a crisp texture, is tart to the juicy, and slightly taste. For a pie apple, most home makers like one which will cook up well, yet hold the shape of the pieces, and have a tart flavor. For sauce you will want an apple that will cook to pieces, and make a smooth, granular delicately flav- ored sauce. For baking, an apple that will cook "done" and yet hold its shape an dnot be too mushy or juicy is desired, also an apple that is midly tart in flavor and has skin enough to hold the apple in shape and yet tender enough to eat This year's cropj of apples is excellent and in addition are juicy and well flavored. The flavor Is superior to many of the apples shipped into the state. Apples are fancy, graded as "extra fancy", C grade or as a combination of ny of these grades. Buy apples now from Juab Horticulturists, or from your neighborhood store. Select a bushel, the quality is guaranteed by the grocer. But be sure you're getting UTAH apples, when you buy.
