Beck-wit- h Appreciation to Editor for his work is expressed in a forward of the book by the executive officers of the Roy Scout of M'llard County. They say, in pjirt: "Mr. Frank Beckwith (Senior) very kindly compiled this bat' rial concerning Millard and nearby and pave his work freely find without thought of recompense to the cause of the Boy Scouts movement. We were very fortunate in this indeed for his studies of this area have been conducted over a period of more than thirty years explora tion, inquiry, reseach and much concentrated study of the Indian? . . . His attitude on the matter was The Roy Scouts are taught to do a good turn - - well here's a good turn done to them". The book, just completed and ready for sale, is written in language easily read and understood and is by young and old alike, made up of a series of tours to Doints of historical and scenic in terest in Millard County and the surrounding area. It contains that concise phraseology, so clipped, cnaractenstic or its author that it makes any reader, nt all familiar with Frank Beckwith, feel that he must be in the room to him personally from itsspeaking pages. In commenting on the book himself the author says "Some of the D'Ctures are 30 vears old . . I made by airplane liehts mainlv in 1946 at the age of 70 whiskers flung to the breeze . . .' and the entire book is just as breezy as that in spite of the fact that it was completed as its author approaches the age of 72. We daresay years of delving into the past have made Frank Beckwith keep young, and following him in the pages of "Millard and Nearbv" will make the reader feel young, too. The book, printed by Art City Publishing Co., may be obtained by sending your order or letter to Boy Scouts of Delta, Delta Utah and requesting a copy of Milliard and Nearby..
