You never put her down but what she went to sleep right away. Blanche often told her other friends about this. "I never have any trouble with her at all," she would say. "The child Is a wonderful sleeper. I don't have to rock her to sleep or anything. "No sooner do I put her down in her bed than the dear one Is rlijht off, sound nsleep." That was a great comfort to her mother. And every one of her friends thought It was splendid. Of course as she was such a good sleeper she was a healthy doll child. It was partly because she was a good sleeper and partly because she was kept out In the nlr so much that Bhe was well all the time. Then Ruth had lovely hair. It was the most beautiful shade of red and it was curly. It was real hair, and how P.lanche loved to stroke It. She would stroke It again and again and sometimes she would kiss It.
