' Each year Los Angeles is forced to reach out to this state and other neighboring common wealths for her supplies of butter, cheese, poultry products, potatoes, wheat, livestock, apples, sweet pota toes, onions and other commodities. The people who are engaged in these pursuits should not overlook this opportunity. In an article in the current issue of Southern California Business, the official magazine of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, B. R. Hollo- way, chairman of the agricultural, horticultural and livestock committee of that organization, calls attention to the growing interchange of commodities between southern California and other western states. Competition, under the latest ruling, will be limited to bonaflde farmers, the definition of a farmer being that used by the federal Census Bureau. One half of one of the encamp ment days will be devoted to a visit to the experimental farms north of the college, where visitors will be shown the experimental work with crops and livestock, and where the outstanding results of these invest! Rations will be presented. F. D. Farrell, president of the Kansas state Agricultural collegt and a member of the agricultural ad visory committee of the American Hankers' association, will be one of the principle speakers on the en campment program. Each day's program will begin early In the morning and will last until Deatlme, every hour being scneduled with lectures, demonstrations or contests.
