SONS Friday, September 2, 1927. - Rfc It. will not be more than a few days until the children will be to school again, and we all know how much health means to 'their success. Young ideas don't shoot very Quickly or very often if there are short-sighte- d ' ' eyes, dull ears, eaching heads, "tummies" 'that are too full or too empty, of full of the wrong things, tonsils that need to come out, or defects that many ather physical may be a handicap to the child. It is most important , that every child should enter school without these physical defects which vijill re'' tard his school work. To insure freedom from such, defects it is very necessary for every child: to have a thorough physical examination by a capable physician. The parent cannot always be sui;e that a child is physically fit because often times it happens 'that there are defects hidden, especially of the eye, ear, nose and throat, that- - can only be discovered by trained spec' ' ialists. , Parents cannot, afford to neglect having their Children examined. Defects taken in the early stages readily yield to treatment, but if neglect ed may" lead to serious complications and cause the child much more, suffering. The physical health of .the child is the responsibility of the home and the school, and it is of such vital importance that it requires the cooperation of ' both. 'Every mother makes a big contribution to ' the child's standing in school, the and receptivenesa of its mind when she sends him off with a healthy, comfortable, well-fe- d body and peaceful mind. Come, mothers, do not neglect this responsibility which is yours.
