He leaves a wife and five children, his aged mother, two brothers and three sisters to mourn his death. Mr. Yates was highly respected by the people of Mona and by his friends and acquaintances in Salt Lake where he was an active church worker. This was indicated by the exceptionally large crowd which attended the funeral. Many out of town friends and relatives were In attendance. The Health Center committee of Mona entertained at a Luncheon Monday, June 28 at the schoolhouse. Covers were laid for the following: Dr. Richards, Miss Dr. Beckstead, Iona Alder, Miss Annie Young, Mrs J. D. Evans, Mrs. Liizie Kay, Mrs. Ella Young, Mrs. Florence Newton. Isabell Evans, Miss Melba Miss Young and Miss Erma Garfield. Mrs. F. D. Speakers at the services were Mr. Tanner of Salt Lake City, a close neighbor and companion of the deceased; John S. Nielson, and Bishop Garfield. All the speakers extolled the virtues of Mr. Yate3 and spoke words of comfort to the bereaved. S. A. Newell offered the opening prayer, and Ernest Kay pronounced the benediction. Music was furinshed by the ward choir. Syrelda Newton and Isabel Ellertaon sang a duet and Melba Young, Erma Garfield and Lavon Young sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere".
