Through force of necessity the farmers of Utah and many other states of the country are getting wise to the need of organization, or in other words self preservation. The present campaign of the Farm Bureau throughout the country will be successful providing all the farm ers will join hands and get on the band wagon. If only part of the farm ers belong to the organization the ef fort to get a square deal will only be partly gucceastul Relief from the present depression will not be obtained until the farmer is brougat back to prosperity. This is the belief of Boine of the best minds of our country who have studied the question. It is the opinion of this paper that this relief can not be effected in the full measure that it should be, only by an organization of the agricult ural Interests that will practically en circle the entire country. The farmers of this country have been asleep at the switch for years. They have never had any choice in the sale of their products. They have been compelled to take Just what price is set by a combination of buyers, irrespective of the fact that this price may represent a total loss to the farmer. To combat this condit ion the farmer must organize, strong enougn u control ana regulate the channels of distribution. The job is up to the farmer. He knows that his costs are real, while his profits the past two seasons have been most elusive. The government conference that is now in session can not change this condition. At this con ference the farmer will be patted on the back, and told that he is the back bone of the nation and must be protected, but this is as far as It will go. The farmer will get his Just profits from his business when he is in control of the machinery that distributes his products to the markets of the country. This condition will come only by a strong organization, powerful enough to exert the pressure that will drive from this stronghold the thousand or more gamblers in the Chicago grain pit, who meet every day to speculate on the honest toil of the American farmer. Father Dunbar was dozing and his wife was reading. Now by another strange freak of fate, a youig man, a stranger In Wharton, strolled by that spot a few moments later. His name was Lisle Devon. He had come to the town on very Important business the day pre vious. He had met with the loss of a wallet containing Important papers and could do no business until he had found them. He had sauntered down to the picnic grounds to put In the time. "Impossible I" abruptly exclaimed this model young man, and he paused with a shock as his eye lit upon Elsas hat with the photograph pinned upon It for it was his own portrait. The recognition of his property must have excited him greatly, for he unceremoniously picked up the hat and approached Mrs. Dunbar. "Madam," he said In haste and eagerness, "can you tell me to whom this hat belongs?" "Why, yes, to my daughter. Miss Elsa Dunbar," replied her mother wonderingly. "Is she here? Can I find her? Ex cuse me, but an extraordinary thing has happened and " Still marvelling, Mrs. Dunbar told him that her daughter was some where about the grounds.
