Rev. Simpkin was unable to be present and give his lecture, and as a substitute, the Odd Fellows invited every one to come to the picture show at their exp?nif which invitation wasf ccepted by a large crowd o people. QUSIIHLE Commercial Club Members were Quests of the Affair The musicale given by t h e Ladies' Literary club last Thursday evening at which all the members of the Commercial Club were guests, was a very high class and enjoyable affair. The life and musical compositions of Schumann and Schubert were treated in a literary and musical way. Mrs.W. VV. Bennett and Mrs. D. 0. Miner gave interesting pa pers on the lives and w o r k s of Schumann and Schubert respect fully, bringing out many interest ing points in the lives of each composer that are not known by the ordinary layman in music. As illustrating some of the principal compositions of Schu mann, i. w. vicKers sang in n strong baritone, "The Waj0er COURT DISTRICT Henry Forrest Sentenced to Pay $125. The case of Nephi City vs. Henry. Forrest, who was adjudged guilty a second time of sell-n- g liquor in violation of the prohibition ordinance, has been before the district couiton amotion for a new trial which has been argued for several days past. The court denied the motion, and sentenced the defendant to pay a fine of $125.00. The attorney for the defendant was given 30 days to prepare and file his bill of exceptions on appeal. - S.
