" When we listen of evenings to a multitude of discordant harmonies we sometimes foil that this harsh critic of the .prince of musicians might, have been in a measure ju.stif.ed. But it must be remembered that the raiost gems are often irost unseemly in their native state. The boys of Nephi have organized a baud of twenty members, this number includes is e phi's very best young men, an. abundance of r.e.'ive and latent musical talent and a display of energy which insures success It is hardly necessary for us to add that this is a worthy movement and entitled to your encouragement, both moral and linancial. The boys have already added ten new instruments and a great deal of music to their equipment, in all probably amounting to something like J 200. In a very short time they will need a neat uniform and various details of equipment which wo will all bo gl id to see them have. Without your financial encouragement they will always be hampered. With the right hind c f encoumgement it requires very little prophetic vision to see they can be the pride of the city at no distant future ti in e. There are many things to commend this movement Next to a lie newspaper a good band is the first visible sign of life in a town. There is nothing so inspiring as music, and no other music is so pretentious as band music. No great occasion is complete whhout the band, and on great occasions the city without the band must contribute cash to the city that has the band. It will thus bo seen that a good band is a linancial saving as well as a pride and pleasure to the community. I 'O t alms to brought to Nephi. hoe j in the front r nk .1 tlu confectionary business.
