Autovon came within 3 points of beating undefeated DLA in what was a real good match. DLA was behind four points at the half but lost their lead in the third quarter as DLA started hitting. There was never more than five point lead by either team in the game. Jerry Bennett had 17 points for the winners. Gus Fowles had 15 for Autovon which he got in the first half as he was injured the second half. Sutherland comes from behind to defeat the Faculty team 64-60. Ross Johnson (25 points) and Mitch Myers (22 points) really put on a scoring battle as each got over a third of their team's points. It was another close game after the 1st quarter with the scoring going back and forth. Arlyn Finlinson played a fine defnsive game for the faculty, facul-ty, plus taking down a lot of rebounds. re-bounds. Brush Beryllium wallups AT&T 62-36. NEWS MRS. ROBERT ASHBY Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. La Ver McClellan was Sarah's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stoddard. They were returning o their home in Tooele after spending two weeks visiting in Calif. Mrs. Erma McCullough has returned re-turned home from visiting in Ogden and helping to care for their new grandson born to David and Elsie Thomas. This is the first child for the Thomas's and the 14 grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton McCullough. McCul-lough. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Pack visited with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bent Mork and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Wood spent two days in Salt Lake. Saturday Mrs. Anna Billings called call-ed and was so elated. It was her birthday and three of their boys and their families came down to spend the day bringing potluck and birthday cakes to help celebrate cele-brate the birthday, also, George Billings's birthday on the 12 of Feb. They also had calls from the rest of their children. Those here were Mr. and Mrs. Terah L. Billings and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Billings and four children all of Salt Lake and Mr and Mrs. Fenton Bilings and three chidren of Spring-ville. Spring-ville. She reported it was such a lovely day and they really did appreciate ap-preciate visiting with their children. We have so many new people in our area and we wish to welcome wel-come them. It is impossible to name them. We hope they will be very happy in our area. We send our deepest sympathy to the families of Mr. Heber Mecham and Mr. Ted Dalton. The Sunday School had their annual an-nual party for the workers and their partners. It was very nice and they had a pretty good crowd. It seems like there is to much sickness around and has really hit everyone very hard. Fire side was held Sunday night after church at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Erickson. Miss Jill Johnson was here with her parents, the Garland Johnsons, over last weekend. Debbie Fullmer has been out of school all week with a bad sore throat, getting a series of shots, is better now. I've just finished reading a book from the Bookmobile, "Christy" by Catherine Marshall. I recommend it as good reading. Phyllis and Garland Johnson drove to Salt Lake Saturday. Our love and sympathy goes to Lola and the other members of the family at the death of Mr. Ted Dalton. Mr. Jack Reid recently went to see his older brother, Dalt, who was in the hospital. Dalt is up !n years. He lived here years ago. Mr. Glynn Bennion is still out on the Riverbed Ranch. We called out there last Wednesday. He can't get around much but loves to stay out there. His son, Colin is preparing prepar-ing to move him into Vernon soon if he can get him to go. Lola Stoneking went into Vola' Bunker to spend the day with1 Rose Knight on her 82nd birthday Feb. 6. Talks were given by Jim Nielson and Ron Lamb of BYU. Ron Lamb is a returned missionary from Hong Kong and a native of Hawaii. Their talks were very impressive. im-pressive. Abra-ham. We continued on thinking we were coming into Sutherland, when all at once we found ourselves our-selves in Hinckley. While there we stopped at the Dewey Carpenter Carpen-ter home; Vera Was very sick with bronchial pneumonia. Sure hopes she soon gets better. Then we rode out to Sherwood Shores. There are several homes being built there. It was such a beautiful day to just ride around.
