Several attended at-tended special class reunions just prior to the banquet. Mothers Day was commemorated with a Mothers Day program in church Sunday morning. Each mother was presented with a potted pot-ted flower. Special floral tributes were given to Mrs. Genava Chapman Chap-man and Mrs. Fannie Lee Hilton. Here to visit with her mother. Fern Hepworth for Mothers Day was Beth Hepworth of Tooele. At the Mark Herron's visiting 's Mr. Herron's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Max Herron of Kent, Wash. This last week work on Main Street was begun at the south end of town. The north end was completed com-pleted this week. Elaine Hardy entertained the Literary Club at her home Thursday Thurs-day evening. Mrs. Sharon Western gave a review of the book "Johnny". "John-ny". Guest was Mrs. Nina Mecham. Lee and Lois Wilson are now settle in their home here, moving back from Dugway where they have lived for the past several years. We are real happy to have them back to live here. Many members of Carl and Beryl Hardy's family were here for a family gathering and to see Ron before he leaves for the Australian Austra-lian mission. Bervl's mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wood of Holden, her three sisters and families, Mrs. Eudene Thompson find children, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hunter and daughter, Lana, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Sherwood, all of Salt Lake. Also Judd and Jacquie and five children of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hardy, Spanish Fork. The Carl Hardy family presented pre-sented the program In Church Sunday Sun-day evoning and held an Open House at the home for relatives and friends to bade farewell to Ron before his mission departure. Ken D"mron upon his release from West Millard Hospital the latter part of the week went to Salt Lake for further medical check up and treotment. Ken contracted the flu following major surgery. We send him wishes for his complete com-plete recovery. At the home of Vera and Heber Bishop last Friday and Saturday were their daughters, Dorothella, Knott, Sylvia Miller and Louise Carling all of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Western and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Shumway and children drove to Fillmore Sunday to spend Mothers Day with their mother, Mrs. Alta Shumway. Other family members present were sisters, Rachel and Eldon Marshall and children of Salt Lake, Revoe and Ren Taylor and children They all enjoyed dinner at the park in Fillmore. The Kennard Carter family have been readying their house here they bought next to Etta Bishop's home. They will be moving into it soon from Delta. Sherry and Leon Lewis and three children spent several days here with their parents, the Wesley Morrises and the Lee Wilsons. Tom and Alda Reeve of Fillmore visited here with relatives last week. Visitors at the Lee Judd home on Mothers Day weer their daughter daugh-ter Suzanne and family of Monroe. Max and Irene Christensen and thier children visited on the weekend week-end with Irene's folks, Lois and Lee Wilson. Our big ward party is coming soon the Comic Rodeo Saturday, June 7 at at the Hinckley Rodeo grounds. There will be events that everyone can enter. There will be carnival concessions. Beginning next week, tickets will be sold. Someone wil contact you, so be planning on getting your tickets for all your family. This is a ward building fund project. Mrs. Karen Redd entertained at x birthday party in honor of her daughter, Suzie for her 6th birthday. birth-day. The hamburerer-marshmellow roast on the town fireplace site was enjoyed bv fourteen little friends on May 8. The Hinckley Ward Relief Society So-ciety was reorganized Sunday eve-nine; eve-nine; at church. New president to replace Mrs. Delma Jean Galli is M-s. Lawanna Peterson. Her new counsellors are Mrs. Bonnie Manis 1st, and Mrs. Sarah Jo Louder, 2nd. Mrs. Arvilla Swensen is remaining as the secretary. Outgoing counsellors coun-sellors are Mrs. Dorothy Spencer and Mrs. Adell Peterson. Evan and Olive Western of Dugway Dug-way and Rulon and Bonnie Western Wes-tern of Provo visited parents, Almn and Nancy Western .'or Mothers Day. Gam Bishop, son of Mrs. Gertha Bishop Is now home with her after recently being released from the Army. Mrs. Gertha Bishop has returned home after having sp-'tit vacations in Calif, and Great Falls, Montana with her children. George Barton, husband of Mrs. Bertha Barton, formerly of Hinckley, Hinck-ley, was honored Tuesday May 13, at an open house in the faculty lounge of the Mt. Jordan Junior High School in Sandy. George is retiring after 40 years service as a teacher and principal. Sponsors of the Open House were the school and its Parent Teacher ass'n. His sister-in-laws, Mrs. Belva Morris, Mrs. Ruth Talbot and Mrs. Grayce Pace attended the open house. Ruth and Cluff Talbot made a business trip to Heber City Monday. Sugarville VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Frelcn Shurtz had home for Mothers Day their whole family. Thirty-three sat down for Sunday dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck1 Jurgens of Calif. Mr. and Mrs.! Alden Shurtz and family of Alpin3,' Mr. and Mrs. Kent Shurtz and fam- ily of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Jay. Shurtz and family, Mr. and Mrs.. Keith Shurtz was home for the weekond with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shurtz and family. Mrs. Phyllis Jenson Huntington has gone to San Antonio, Texas to be with her husband, Lowell for three months stay. She left last week. He will have more schooling there. Wayne Holt and children of Enterprise, En-terprise, Joelyn Holt and fiance, Larry Pedersen of Vernal and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Snow and family. Joelyn will graduate May 18 in Cedar from a Nurses Training Course. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Estes are moving next month to Seattle. Dale works for Kodak and has been transferred. Mrs. Joyce Jones of Hawthorne, Calif, called her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph L. Stoneking Sunday to wish her mom a happy Mothers Day. Mr. and Mrs. James Nickle had their children home over the weekend, week-end, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Julie) Brush and daughter of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Edwards (Kathleen) and two boys of Kearns. Mr. Floyd Bishop of Pioche, Nev. visited Thursday thru Sunday with his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Walker. Sunday night the program for sacrament meeting was Linda Boothe's missionary report. A song by Bob Jenson and June Hinckley, accompanied by Verla Jenson. Hilda Oliver, Lois Greene, Jerry Hill and Tressa Jenson, Jen-son, Sec. and Trcas. and all teachers teach-ers were released and the new officers of-ficers are Ireta Shurtz, pres., with June Losee and Jerri Clark Sec. and Treas. Lois Curtis, Jim Shurtz organist or-ganist with all the other teachers. The Sunday school had a lovely program for Mothers Day and each mother was presented with a growing grow-ing plant. A large crowd was in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Terry of Fairfield visited their mother Tressa Tres-sa Jenson and Rex on Mothers Day Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen had home for Mothers Day, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Jensen and family, Dick and Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Val Sorenson and baby of Bountiful. Clair-'' Stephenson of the Stake Relief Society visited our Relief Society Tuesday. We were happy OAK CITY MACEL ANDERSON We enjoyed a lovely Mothers Diy. A nice program was presented present-ed by the Sunday school at which tima each mother was presented with a beautiful corsage. These were the creation of Roger Anderson. Ander-son. Many visitors were home to honor their mothers. College students stu-dents home were Nola Nlelson, La Ree Jacobson, Jewel Mikesell, Dale Pratt, LnRlta Pratt, Roger Anderson, Ander-son, EIRue Alldredge. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson enjoyed a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Meldon Anderson, Mrs. Lamar Anderson and baby, and Mrs. Blan-chard Blan-chard over the weekend. Our sympathy goes to the family of Mrs. Kathryn Anderson Coleman. Those attending her funeral in Provo Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Anderson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson. Meldon and Jean, Mr. ad Mrs. Junius Anderson and daughter, Ellen; George Anderson, An-derson, Mrs. Helen Anderson and Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Anderson and baby visited Helen Anderson Sunday. Also Fred and Margene of Delta visited with her and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson. Eldon is now home from the hospital hos-pital and we hope he will have a speedy and complete recovery. Mrs. Robert Torrens and childrn visited her parents, ,Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson. Mr. anr Mrs. Marvin Lovell spent Sunday in Cedar with their son, David and family. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Christensen visited Mr. and Mrs. Willard Christensen Chris-tensen a few days. Mrs. Melvin Roper and daughter, Suzanne visited in Oak City Sunday. Sun-day. They went on to Cedar where Suzanne will spend the week with her parents after having been hospitalized hos-pitalized in Logan with a serious illness. Miss Carolyn Roper also was an Oak City visitor. Judy Finlinson and her friend, Rosemary and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard 'Jane) Persons were at the to have her. Saturday Lorna and Roberta returned to Salt Lake for the funeral of a close friend of Roland's and Roberta's who had been killed in Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Steven. Nlelson and family visited their relatives over the weekend. The Walter Peterson family was down working on their garden this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson had a visit from their daughter, Arlene, who lives In the Northwest States region. Mrs. Macel Anderson Is at pres ent enjoying a visit in Boise, Ida. with her son, John and family. She flew from Salt Lake and will return jwith her grandson, Garth who will 'spend a few days with her before .leaving for Great Britain. She also ' visited her daughter, Avis and ; family before leaving for Boise. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Tolbert went I to Nephi last weekend to see a 1 new granddaughter blessed. The little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Talbot was given the name of Tamara. This weekend Cloyd and Emma enjoyed visits from their children LuWanna and family, Richard and family and Cloyd's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Talbat o Ogden. Mr. James Anderson visited his mother, Mamie Anderson a ew days. Mr. and Mrs. Grayson Roper had their daughter, Cynthia and husband hus-band home for Mothers Day. Larry Shipley visited with his father, Ivan a few days the past week while Susan is in Salt Lake recovering from oye surgery. LaMar Anderson suffered injuries when his car rolled over and demolished de-molished it. He is in the hospital in Salt Lake. Mrs. Chloe Alldredge rode to Cedar and back Tuesday with her brother-in-law from Salt Lake, Wesley Osguthorpe. Friday she enjoyed en-joyed a visit from her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Woods, of Salt Lake. They helped her do some planting In her garden.
