Mrs. Crafts drove on into Salt Lake to spend a couple of days with her son, Mr. and Mrs. David Crafts and two children. She also visited her sister, Mrs. Thenelda Parker in Salt Lake and Mrs. Parker returned to Delta with her to spend a couple of days visiting at the Crafts home. Misses Gloria and Joan Adams traveled to Hurricane Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Robison and attended the ball game. They went on to St. George to visit relatives rela-tives and friends. They all returned home Sunday. We are real happy to welcome Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson and family into our town and the 2nd ward. They moved here from Oak City this past week, to make their home. There were many 2nd Ward members mem-bers in attendance at meeting in the 1st Ward Sunday evening to hear the mission report of Elder Clinton Merrell, who just completed 2Vi yeas in the Southern Far East mission field (Hong Kong). It was a very interesting meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker and daughter, Sharon and Miss Wendy Crane recently returned from a five day trip to Calif. They attended the Rose Parade at Pasadena, Calif, on New Years Day and visited with relatives and friends and visited Disneyland also. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Bunker and son, Brian of Provo were weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black and family of Ogden spent Friday and Saturday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. June Black. Mr. and Mrs. Ferral Warner of Nephl spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Warner. Recently Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mathews and family of West Jor-don Jor-don and Mr. and Mrs. Burke Mathews of Scipio visited at the Carl Warner home in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wright and daughter, Gina, have returned to Logan after spending the holidays with Wally's parents, Mr. and Mrs, Walter Wright. Wally has resumed his studies at USU where he was named to the fall, quarter honor roll with a straight "A" average. He will graduate in June. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Starley visited in Cedar City last Wednesday with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cahoon. Sutherland DORA ROSE Miss Betsy Johnson of Dixie Col lege was home over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Les-ter Johnson and her brother, Ray. Mrs. Ann Hales spent the week end with her family. We are sorry to hear of Mr. Hales having to return re-turn to the hospital. We sincerely hope it will not be for long. Mrs. Mary Johnson and son, Ross were in Sutherland Sunday night. Ross will be leaving soon to return to South Africa where he is stationed. sta-tioned. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Church were here last week to visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody and Mr. and Mrs. George Church. Mr. and Mrs. Prows of Kanosh were here Sunday to visit their relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele Mrs. Prows is a sister of Doyle's and Mr. Prows is a brother of Lena's. Mr. and Mrs. Simpson are back in the area again for awhile and we welcome them tack. Miss Emily Young, student at BYU, Provo, was home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde came for their son, Paul who has been staying with the Heber Roses for the past week. High Councilman Merlin Chnsten- sen was our visitor for the Sunday night services. He had with him his sons who sang, Elwin Johnson who is a Stake Missionary, and called Kim Moody and John Owens from the audience to give talks. Mr. Gene Owens spent the weekend week-end with his wife and family, Shirley, Shir-ley, Gary and John. Elder Lenord Owens and Elder Daniel Henrie are both attending the Y at Provo. Mrs. Grayson Roper and daughter, daugh-ter, Cherry, joined her mother, Mrs. Deona Black for a trip to Cokeville, Wyoming to visit Mr. and Mrs. John Teichert and family and to Mont-pelier, Mont-pelier, Idaho to visit Mr. and Mrs. Keith Tolbert and family last week end. Leland Roper went with Cheryl to Salt Lake and spent the weekend with his daughter, Nada and family Tuesday, Grayson and Cheryl Roper and daughters, Rosalie and Cherry went to Grand Junction, Colo., to visit their daughter, Jackie and Jay Webb. They had i lovely time and returned home Friday. Mrs. Orpha Bigelow and children of Salt Lake visited a few days with her mother, Mrs. Helen Anderson Ander-son and returned to their home Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith and little daughter visited their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson. Miss Anna Jayne Alldredge visit ed her father and Tex Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson hid their son, Lambert visit from Weber College over the weekend. Other visitors at their home were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar (Nell) Pike of Idaho, Miss Wilna Wixom and her friend, Miss Johnson of Salt Lake and Mr. Terry, a brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Betsy) Willden of Granger visited Sunday afternoon with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson. High Counselman Phil Nielson cf Lynndyl and Mr. Ken Ashby were the speakers at sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening. Glen Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nielson played a very fine piano solo. Mrs. Ashby and the children were also in attendance. We wish to invite them to come again. Mrs. Macel Anderson was happily hap-pily surprised last Friday when a ham radio operator of Los Angeles called and ask if she would like to talk to Paul, her son, who is in Valparaise, Chile. It was hard to hear him because of interference of other stations, however, he could hear her. He has been unable to get mail since before Christmas. We hope it will soon be so the mail goes thru. It was nice to hear from him. Mrs. Helen Anderson is receiving congratulations for being grandma again. The little newcomer is a little boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Newe'l Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson spent most of the week at Manti where they are enjoying attending the temple each day. They will be there through the winter months. Mrs. Max Cox and Tracy went to Salt Lake where she met her husband, hus-band, who has finished his schooling school-ing in Chicago and will be employ ed at the AUTOVON in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Jacobson are visiting their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Maiben Jacobson and family. Mrs. John (Rachel) Wright of Provo visited her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson over the weekend. week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper of Cedar visited their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dut son and returned home Sunday. Mr. J. B. Lovell and Edgar Lovell visited from Cedar with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Lovell Miss Nola Neilson, who is attending at-tending school at CSU enjoyed the weekend at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Nielson. Miss Hazel Chrlstensen of Salt Lake visited aJew days with her parents, M Christensen. parents, Mr. Ond Mrs. Willard Mr. and Mrs. Eric Nielson1 and little son of Colorado Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Skeem of Salt Lake visited for a few days wi'h their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson. Mr. Cordell Finlinson of CSU and Miss Gloria Craw of Minersville visited over the weekend with Cor-dell's Cor-dell's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell and Margaret Roper attended the missionary mis-sionary report of Elder Clint Merrell in Delta Sunday evening. Mrs. Margaret Roper and Betty Jane Morris drove to Salt Lake Monday for a checkup with her doctor. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nielson and Sue and Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson Fin-linson attended a missionary report of Kit Finlinson in Provo Sunday evening. Kit is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lenox Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson, Daniel and Bruce and Mrs. Eldon Anderson visited Sunday in Tropic with Mr. and Mrs. John LaFevre and family. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Dutson and Lemira were in Provo Monday on business accompanied by her cousin, Sandra Owens. A good crowd was in attendance. at-tendance. Ireta Shurtz made a trip to Salt Lake with her little daughter, Kny Lynn for a doctor's appointment. All the college students are back in school. "Congratulations" to Mr. and Mrs. Dick Draper on their new baby and hope he ill be doing good by now. Venice Davis has had the "flu" and several others in the ward, but are up and around again now. I was happy to find out Harry Moinhardt has a phone also. OASIS RUBY SKEEM Bill Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Day, is home on leave. It's always good to see the boys home from the Armed Forces. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Anderson and son were visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.' Ernest Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Skeem and children spent Saturday with us. Floyd Skeem came home from the hospital Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Skeem and Tressa were home over the weekend. week-end. Tressa had had the cast removed re-moved from her arm. Last week Mrs. Kathleen Faris was here from Tooele. She had Mickey with her. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Warnick of Salt Lake visited her mother, Mrs. Cassie Johnson. Delene and I and Fanny Lee Hil ton went with Lawrence Cropper and Paul Cutler to Lynndyl for Sacrament meeting Sunday. Stanley and Ed Bradfield visited with us Saturday. The date and time will be announced at a later date. Visiting during the week with Dorothy Gardner was her sister, Mrs. Willard R. Doxey. Sugarvillc VENICE DAVIS 4 MBWUCCUttlCI i Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill returned home from their two week's visit n Portland, Oregon with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Bud West (and to be there when the new arrival ar-rival came Dec. 28th. They report a very nice time and lots of cold weather and snow. We are glad to have them home again. 1 Yvonne Shurtz has her little niece with them this week. Since coming home Hilda fell and sprained her ankle, but is now on the improve. Sunday night the program was given by High Councilman Reid Tippetts. Mr. and Mrs. Bud McCann spent Saturday visiting in Price and Wellington Wel-lington with friends. They also visited in Payson witli Bud's mother, moth-er, Mrs. McCann and with Mr. and Mrs. George Evans. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrrs. Gerold Lovell was their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lovell of Nephi. Mrs. Ruth Nielson was released from the Nephi hospital last week. Joanne Oshley of Lynndyl went with Dorothy Keith and the Floyd Bradfield family to Nephi Saturday night. She stayed with Dorothy over night and attended Sunday School in Leamington. It is Ward Conference in Leamington Leam-ington next Sunday. Everyone com? out. Hattie Anderson is in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson. She has had a bad cold and cough. Hope she can soon be able to return re-turn homo. Harry Carrington was transfered. to the Salt Lake hospital for treat-1 ment. the X-rays showed that he had received a fractured hip when he fell on the ice during the holi- day season. I hear he is going to be sent home for awhile then lis! will go back for surgery. Cristal Sagers was released from the hospital last week and is now' able to go back to work. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holdaway, went to Salina Sunday on business and to visit friends. Eleanor Nielson spent a day last week in Salt Lake for a medi-j cal checkup. I It certainly seemed good to see' Clead Nielson out to church Sun-' day. He has been unable to go out to anything since his accident several sev-eral weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Nielson went to Salt Lake on business a day last week. Don and Lois Bradfield and children, chil-dren, Grant, Wayne and June of Bountiful spent the weekend with Don's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Bradfield and in Oasis with Lois's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peteson. Darlene Overson, who is going to school in Provo spent the weekend with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Overson. She attended attend-ed Sunday School in our ward. The program in sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday night was given by High Councilman Laurence Cropper, with him was Paul Cutler. They both gave interesting talks. Delene Skeem, Oasis played an accordian selection. Visitors were Ruby Skeem and Mrs. Fannie Hilton. A new family has moved into the Herbert Abegglen home. I don't know who they are but it sure looks good to see the place all lit up. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson went to Salt Lake last week on business. They also visited their sons, Ralph in : f m ly and Eugene and family and relatives in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sutton spent the weekend in Salt Lake visiting relatives. We read in the paper of the death of Neldon Johnson, son of Ernold and Eva Johnson of Provo. He was killed Jan. 10 in a highway accident. Lawrence and I and Clay ton and Leah Williams of Mills went to Provo to the mortuary to the viewing of Neldon. It is very sad when a young boy of 10 has to go so suddenly. We saw many of the family, all of Ernold's children, chil-dren, Mr. and Mrs. Gil Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, LaVell and Safrona Lake Bradfield, Mis. Ronald Lake and family, (Ronald is very ill), also Mrs. Effie Allen, Mrs. Kenny Jack and Norma Majors. Ma-jors. We then went on to Lindon to see Iran's mother, Mr. and Mrs. Clem (Rose Olson) Schowles. They had taken Rose to the American Fork hospital that day, so we were , not able to see her. Both her and her husband have had the flu. They .... Ot- : u i .1 it just doesn't seem like they can get over it. Rose is a former resident resi-dent of Leamington. This is a lovely rain. It should help the water situation this coming summer. Ms. Lydia Theobald, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Watts and Mrs. Norma Stevenson all of Salt Lake, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields and Mr. Grant Theobald who is In the West Millard Hospital Mrs. Spencer H. Wright just -c-turned from a five week visit to Calif. Part of the time was spent in Los Angeles with the Don Morgan Mor-gan family. Later she visited with Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Dysart in Oakland, Oak-land, Calif. While there she heard the San Francisco Symphony, with Josef Krips conducting. Mr, and Mrs. Eldon Sorcnsoit recently re-cently returned from a week's visit at Woodland Hills. Calif, with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Carol Dawn) Kendrick and children, Douglas and Cynthia. Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson report having a wonderful time and enjoying the loveiy weather. Merton and Lacl Hilton Lovell of St. George are the proud parents of a new baby daughter weighing 4 lbs. 15 02. She was born Jan. 3 and has three older brothers at home. Mrs. Vera S. Hilton of Delta is in St. George to welcome the new addition which is her 39th grandchild. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Church and three children of Denver, Colo, have been visiting with the George N.
