Reclassification or re-districting schools in the state for the Utah High School Activities Ass'n was discussed. The recent Region Eight basketball tournament at Fillmore was discussed and board members reported that many fans had complained com-plained about admission fees. Supt. Taylor reported that a financial statement would be sent to participating partici-pating schools showing the amount received and amounts used for tournament. Some of the costs, he said were for persons taking tickets tic-kets at the door and for referees. The board will be advertising for bids on drapes for Delta High School and Millard High School. Supt. Taylor was authorized by the board to pursue the placement of a flashing railroad signal at the crossing of old Highway Six between be-tween Delta and Hinckley. The matter will be further discussed with the Millard County Commission Commis-sion and the Utah Safety Commission. Commis-sion. Member Huff moved that Clerk Steele bo paid his regular salary for the days he was absent from work because of jury duty in Salt Lake City. Member Huff also moved that Mr. Steele's absent days be applied against vacation time that wasn't used in 1966. His motion was seconded by Member Frampton and carried unanimously. Supt. Taylor read a letter from Prin. Golden Wright, Millard High School, in which the principal requests re-quests assistance with a sprinkling system for the school. Prin. Wright reported that Millard High owns 4.93 lots of Fillmore City Water valued at approximately $1,200.00 a lot. Prin. Wright suggested selling sell-ing half a lot of water and apply ing the money to the costs of the sprinkling system. He recommended recommend-ed that the remaining 151.71 bo shared equally by the district and the school. Member Frampton moved that Prin. Wright's recommendations recom-mendations be accepted. His motion mo-tion was seconded by Member Robison Rob-ison and carried unanimously. It was reported that Public Address Ad-dress (PA) systems at both high schools need adjusting and repairing. Jay Gardner, Utah Power and Light, reviewed his survey findings for the board. Mr. Gardner has just sompleted a survey of three schools, Delta, Dixie High and Roy High School on heat and labor costs of upkeep. His findings show ed that Delta High compared very favorably. Final tabulations show ed that labor costs per student at Delta High was $17.12; Roy, $22.27; Dixie, $25.72. Cost per square foot was Delta, $.29; Roy, $.32; and Dixie, $.32. It was noted that Delta had 645 students; Roy, 1,450; and Dixie, 525. The board was pleased with the results. Mrs. Lenore Anderson, Lunch Supervisor, reviewed the juice program pro-gram now in effect in the county schools. Time and cost of the program pro-gram were discussed. Mrs. Anderson Ander-son pointed out that the juice would have to be returned if not consumed by the end of the year and other districts were in process of conducting similiar programs. The board decided to continue the program. A special meeting with the architect arch-itect is being scheduled to review re-view the building and remodeling plans for Fillmore Elementary and Delta Elementary. Supt.
