Three beefs vere barbecued bar-becued and served wit the usual Oak City corn and vegetables. The rodeo, was well attended. The pro gram at the church at 2:00 p.m. was lovely and presented to a capa city crowd. The choir was led by Mrs. Eldonna Anderson with organists organ-ists Afton Dutson and Edith Finlin son. We were happy to see so many people visiting from the neighboring neighbor-ing towns and from far and near. We always look forward to seeing so many of our former ward members mem-bers and friends. We thank you for your attendance an hope you will come again. A dance in the evening was a climax to the days festivities with a big crowd. Eddie's Orchestra play ed for the dance. Everyone had an enjoyable time. Lt. Col. Harold Heggessy formerly of Oak City and son, Bill, of Hill Air Force Base visited Friday and Saturday with his family and renewing re-newing acquaintances. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Buchanan and sons visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edie M. Jacobson over the weekend. At the Wayne Nielson home were their daughter, Margo and her friend, fri-end, Sherri Smith of Salt Lake. Eric and Linda are still there with their folks and Winston and Mary Jean and children of Richfield drove over Monday morning for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Jones and children and their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones visited Clark and Lulu Lovell Saturday. The Eliza Anderson family had a get together in the canyon Sunday afternoon. They had a pot luck dinner and served forty members of the family. LeRoy and Martha and members of their family, Mario and Molly and sons, Elva and Marvin Mar-vin and family, Ann and family and Karl, Beryl and family and Ada and family were present. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilkins of Calif, have been visiting their sister Barbara Anderson and family for the past few days. Mrs. Revo Young and Mis. Rachel Poulson of Richfield visited Friday with their sister, Macel Anderson, leaving Saturday morning. Another sister, Alice Bailey of Salt Lake and her son, Donald and wife and child ren came Saturday morning and spent the day and enjoyed the barbecue bar-becue with the Andersons. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rogers and children returned to their home in Florida last Tuesday after a visit in Oak City with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson and iVal. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Mrs. Margaret Roper and Reece Finlin-son Finlin-son spent the day Thursday at the Manti Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Nielson and Twiss were In Salt Lake Wednesday. Wednes-day. Rebecca re turned home Wednesday and Tom remained the rest of the week. Mr Lyman Finlinson also attended the BYU workshop. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson were Salt Lake visitors Friday where Donna had another checkup with her doctor. Paul Anderson attended a steak fry with his sister. Avis Stephenson in Salt Lake Friday evening. He helped Avis bring her family to the ward day celebration Saturday. Avis and children returned to their home Sunday afternoon. The family of Mr. Bert Roper celebrated his eighteth birthday at the family home Friday. Dinner was served to thirty members of his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The center cen-ter piece was a lovely cake made in the shape of an open book with the word memories and 80 written on the pages. Those of his children who were in attendance were Vernon Ver-non and Erma of Springville, Darrel and Leola Dalton, Mina and LeRay Pratt, Ruby and Carl Taylor, Victor and Juanita Wayment all of the Ogden area and Bonnie of Oak City. Grandchildren, Rebecca Roper Child and Cherrie and Reece Finlinson and children. Many other friends and neighbors called with their best wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Devon Roper of Phoenix were unable to be in attendance at-tendance but will come on Monday to visit his folks. Congratulations and many more birthdays to you, Bert. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Jacobson and Joan of Ogden visited their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Jacobson. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson, Jess and wife and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Peterson and children and Janice Howard and Marie visit ed over the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Aretta Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Nielson and children and iJlr. and Mrs. Jess Peterson visited the family of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Nielson over the weekend and attended the ward celebration. Mr. Peter Nielson has returned home from Fillmore where he has been recuperating after his stay in the West Millard Hospital. His son, Robert, took him to Fillmore to stay with them. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Niel son of San Antonio, Tex. have come to visit with their father and to care for him awhile. Mrs. Florence N. Lyman of Clearfield, Clear-field, a sister of Peter's, and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lovell and children visited him Saturday, and Sunday. It was nice to see them all out at the ward reunion. ' Mrs. Louise Nielson and family camped in the canyon and visited in Oak City over the weekend. I Mrs. Gladys Frew of Hooper is visiting her brother, Fred Lundhal. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson had their son and family Floyd Lovell of Orem and a cousin, Mr. Henry Lyman of Manti visiting them on Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Melville and family were weekend visitors. I Mr. and Mis. Eric Bermyster and family of Orem were speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening It was a very enlightening meeting1 and we invite the Bermysters to ' come again. They camp each sum- j mer in the canyon for several days. The MIA Maid girls and Scouts of corresponding age were at a fire side chat at the home of Lemira Dutson Sunday evening. Mr. Bermyster Ber-myster was the guest speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Talbot of Sandy have returned to their home after spending the summer with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Tal-bot. Arnold teaches school in that ' area. Mr. and Mrs. William Dutson had their trailer home moved in from' Wendover and set on their new lot ; last Saturday. It is a big improve-! ment in that area of town and, we . welcome them to our community. William will teach school in Delta this coming winter. Misses Mayvonne and Dixie Dutson Dut-son spent the weekend from Salt Lake with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Peterson of Stafford, Ariz., visited a few days last week with their daughter Eda Christensen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Merit Christensen and small son and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Christensen of Salt Lake were weekend guests of Ralph and Glen Christensen and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and family were visitors Saturday with Mrs. Margaret Roper. Janet stayed a few days with her grandmother. Bill Alkins and a friend, Judy of Phoenix and Tracy Williams of Cedar Ce-dar were visitors this past week at the Lyman Finlinson home. Sarah's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Church were also guests at the Finlinson home. Mrs. Janet Torrens and children of Provo have been visiting the past week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Lenox Finlinson and family of Provo and Mrs. Amy Faust were visitors of their brother Esdras Finlinson over the weekend. Mrs. Hulda Anderson was happy to have part of her family spend the weekend at her home, Amos and wife, Virginia, of Sandy, Carlos and Beth of Hinckley and Lena and Lloyd Peterson of Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Don Schmutz and family of St. George are visiting this weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell. They will take a trip to the northern part of the state and stay over night at Manti with Reed and Zella during the week on their way back to St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson had their daughter, Rachel, of Provo visiting over Saturday and Sunday. Lemira's sisters and brother spent Saturday there. Mrs. Ethel Mathews of Nephi and her two daughters and families, Lola of Mona and Jeanette of Colo., Mrs, Mary Jeffery Mr. and Mrs. Bert (Lucile) Hales of Deseret and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roper of Caliente, Nev. Mrs. Deona Black of Salt I-ake visited her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Graysen Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Pace and Mrs. Lsobel Muif of Eeaver were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson An-derson and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Niel son. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pratt have Mrs. Alice Olson of Ogden and her dau ghter Mrs. Baker of Montana visiting visit-ing for a few days. Mrs. Reed Arnold and her son and his wife of Magna are visiting her brothers Grant and Lyman Finlinson Finlin-son and families. Mrs. Esther Christensen, Laura, Myron and family of Salt Lake were Oak City visitors Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Anderson of Payson spent a few days with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson, Ander-son, and Meldon and Jean and children. r Mr. and Mrs. Don Drollinger and children and Don's brother and family of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shipley and children of Bountiful spent two days with their parents, Mr. and Mis. Ivan Shipley the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Oakland (Oak and Martha) Dutson of Calif, visited re cently in Oak City with friends and relatives. They had been on an extended ex-tended trip thru the east where they visited points of interest to the church, attended the pageant at Hill Cumorah, Niagra, New York City, etc. They were on their way back home when they visited here. Sunday afternoon there was a grass fire of unknown origin at the home of Libby Roper with so many young boys present it was quickly extinguished without property dam age. The Laurel class in Mutual held their honor program Sunday afternoon. after-noon. Mr. and Mrs. (Joleen) Revelli and children of Evanston, Wyo., are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East. Mr. Revelli helped moved the trailer house of William Dutson's from Wendover. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sheriff of Orem are living in the canyon for a few days vacation and visiting. Mr. Leland Roper visited in Orem with his brother and sisters from Wednesday until Saturday. They had a wonderful time and did some camping in Spanish Fork Canyon. Mrs. Nada Simpson went up and brought him home. Mrs. Mortensen went to Salt Lake Friday to bring her home. Joseph Dunlop has been staying with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. tiaroin Meinhardt and children for the past week. He will return to his home in Salt Lake Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meinhardt went to Salt Lake to ttke their children, Dian, Joan and David to the airport where they rode from there to Emonclaw, Wash., on the plane. Cary will remain here and attend school for the coming year. Mrs. Maude Sweet of Pomona, Calif., is visiting with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Norma) Mein hardt. To visit the Meinhardts also was their son, Bob of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden went to Richfield to visit with their brother Mr. and Mrs. Marven Ogden then to Beaver to visit with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Miller and family, then to Parowan and Cedar to visit with relatives there. The Ogdens has as their visitors, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Stewart and five dau ghters. They are from Las Vegas and Mrs. Stewart is a sister of Mrs. Ogden's. They went to Salt Lake to see their son who left for an LDS mission to Scotland. Carmen Hepworth and Dora Rose went to Ogden Thursday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde and Paul. They all did some business at the census records in Salt Lake on Friday and saw some new places on interest Saturday and returned Sunday. Heber, Michael, Elaine and Debby, made the trip to bring them back and to see Margo, David and Paul. Bishop and Mrs. Hepworth return ed from their trip to the highlights of the Eastern States. They have some very interesting slides of the different spots of history beginning at Fort Bridger, Wyo. Some very beautiful and scenic areas or forming form-ing where the people all live on their farms and the miles and miles of green with no weeds, not many mosquitos and no bugs. Beautiful farm buildings all kept painted and prosperous looking. The Statue of Liberty, of which they climbed to the top and looked from the windows win-dows of her crown, which gave them a heartfelt warmness of being a citizen of the United States. They witnessed the changing of the guards at the Unknown Soldier's Grave and saw the grave of President Presi-dent Kennedy. The White House where they dined with all the Senators. Sen-ators. They were in Detroit, Mich., while the riots were at their peak. The spiritual aspect of their trip was the Sacred Grove and the Pageant. Pag-eant. They will always remember the thrill they received there. Mr and Mrs. Bob (Virginia) Yundt of Indiana, Mrs. Marjone Burr and children of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Moody and children of Conoga Park, Calif., Mrs. Verlin Riola and children of La Habra, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. David (Kay) Calvert and children of Denver, Den-ver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Dick Moody and children of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Moody and children of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Kay) Hardy and children of Laramie, Wyo., were all here to attend the Moody reunion which was held on Ward Moody's lawn in Delta. Sunday Sun-day they attended openhouse at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Moody at Salt Lake in honor of Phil and at night theye attended the graduation of Phil where he received his Phd. in Philosophy and Socialogy. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Thomas also attended the reunion and the grad uation exercises. They are of the Thurmon Moody family and the others who were present were of the M. J. Mr. and Mrs. Scottie Blair and their five children visited over the weekend In the area with former classmates, teaechers and friends Scott was a resident in the Sugar-ville Sugar-ville area and attended DHS in the early 4U's where he played foutball They make their home in Warren Rhode Island. Reports say that Scott was very pleased to visit in the prea once more.
