Show HeammGtoH . . WANDA NIELSON J Clara Johnson's grandson, Bobby Clement of Payson, fell and hurt himself quite seriously while skiing the day after Christmas. He was in the hospital for a number of days. He is home and felling some better now. He is the son of Maurine and Vaughn Clement. Mrs. Nadine Chappell and four children have been staying with Aunt Erva Bradfield for the last ten days, while Erva is recuperating from her accident. Dee and Shirley brought her home from Sandy be-for be-for New Years. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kay of Goshen Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pay of Nephi and daughter Ellen Anderson of Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Brad field and boys and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sherwood and family visited with Erva and Randall Bradfield over New Years weekend. Also Mr. and Mrs. James Pay of Mona. Mrs. Myrtle Neilson spent New Years weekend with son, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Larsen and family in Milford. Roger and Nyra Nielson and baby went to Logan Wednesday and back Thursday. Roger will be taking tak-ing a farm survey for the USU in the counties of Sourthen Utah for the next two or three months. Bill Nielson was operated on at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake Thursday. He is feeling a little better, but will have to stay in the hospital for two or three weeks. Claudine went up Thursday morning morn-ing and stayed a few days with him. Joan Bird fell and broke her right wrist Christmas night. It feels better bett-er but is still unable to do much. Brian Nielson, son of Louise and Grant had his tonsils out during the holidays. Margaret McCann went to Mil-ford Mil-ford Tuesday, Dec. 27, for the funeral fun-eral of Myron Vest. Mr Vest was the father of Edith Lovell, Will's wife. Many people from here attended the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Lovell last Wednesday evening in Nephi. Gordon is the son of Gerold and Wilma and Annette Ann-ette is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Johnson of Nephi. Congratulations Con-gratulations to the young couple. Gayl Nielson returned to Beauty College in Salt Lake Wednesday, after staying home to help me for the last six weeks. Marsha Hansen was home during the holidays with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Hansen and fam ily. Inez, Gayl, Wade and I went to Mona last Sunday to see our young est grandchild blessed. Roger bless od her and gave him the name of Kory Lou. Inez spent, the weekend with us. Bob came down Sunday afternoon and took her home. Hope Laura Bradfield is feeling better now. She is in the Nephi Hospital suffering from a heart attack. I would surely appreciate it if you folks would call and tell me your news by Satrday or no later than Sunday because it has to be in Delta before noon on Mondays. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blake had their children home for the holidays Miss Loa Rose Hansen, an anesthesiologist anesthe-siologist at the St. Benedicts Hospital Hospi-tal in Ogden after two years training train-ing in a hospital in Hartford, Conn., Mr. and Mrs. Max (MarJean) Stan-worth Stan-worth and children, Maxine, Lyla Mae, Jeanne, also Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Connie) Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blake Loa Rose and Glen and Brenda went to Mrs. Rose Dewsnup's home to celebrate a family dinner to honor her brother LaMar's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell (Darcia Dalton) Day are proud parents of a baby boy born in Fillmore LDS Hospital. He weighed in at 8 lbs lloz. He is the first grandchild for Mrs. Betty Bealieu and first greatgrandchild great-grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Jess Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bunker were in Provo to see daughter Shirley Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Whicker and Julene went to Provo where Julene stayed with her sister Mava while the R. C.'s attended meetings for the firemen in Murray and visited Cleo's sister, Mrs. Pearl Sagers, Pamela and Randy in Salt Lake. All went to Bountiful to se another sister, Mrs. Fern Mortensen, Paul and Jiil. So nice to say happy birthday birth-day to Pearl. We extend sympathy to the family fam-ily of Mr. William Bassett. A host of friends attended his services in Second Ward Saturday. Mr. Martin Ludwig is home after surgery in LDS Hospital and a stay of 10 days. We wish him a rapid recovery. Martin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ludwig came from Spring City to visit Saturday. Mir. and Mrs. G. G. (Eloise Law) Chambers and children, Carol and David of Portland, Oregon spent Sunday and Monday with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Law. They came to Utah to see their son off to Guatemala, where he will serve as an LDS missionary. They plan to do some skiing in Utah, before returning to their home. ELAINE HARDY Happy birthday wishes to Mrs. Angie Cahoon and Harold Morris, who both celebrated their birthdays on New Years Day. Angie received telephone calls from her sister, son and daughter from out of town, along with other wishes and gifts. The Morris family celebrated Harold's Har-old's birthday with a family party. Present wore: Don and Cherie, Shirley Shir-ley and Ronald, Betty Jane and Gene, Carolyn and Waldo, Belva and Harold. The evening was spent in playing games and refreshments were enjoyed. Mrs. Alia Warnick had an accident acci-dent while sleighriding this week and has had to be confined to bed far o. few days. Vera and Heber Bishop and Ted and Edith Dennison returned home the first of the week after having spent several days up north. The Dennison's daughter Theo came back with them. She spent a day in Oak City and a day in Hinckley and irelurned to Salt Lake Thursday. The Hinckley Ward Choir present ed the music for the afternoon session of Quarterly Conference in Delta Sunday. They sang two numbers, num-bers, "The Isold's Prayer" and "Here in This House". Marie and Wonn George and their son, Ken, home on leave from the Navy, visited at the Carlos Anderson An-derson home last week. The Georges Geo-rges had neon on a trip into Mexico Mex-ico and stopped in Hinckley on their way home. Mrs. Belva Morris entertained the Rook Club at her home Wednesday evening, Jan. 4th. A lovely supper was enjoyed, followed by Rook be ing played. The Tippetts also went to Dixie to take their son back to school. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Callister of Cedar spent a few days' with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson Jack-son and Steve. Hot chocolate and chilli was served ser-ved to over 2(X Explorers and girls of the same age last week when they finished with their sleigh rides on the flat out west. All wards In, the Stake were represented with leadres and their wives. Sleighs were pulled behind trucks and cars so the flying snow was no respect er of persons. Everyone was covered cover-ed with snow and cold but enjoyed the ride very much. The Heber Roses made a trip to Richfield to visit with their daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robinson and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Wind returned from Provo where they have been visiting with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wind and family. The Purple Heart was presented to Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bohn for the bravery and service given by their son David in the Viet Nam war. We saw them receive it from a Major on television. The Young Marrieds party was a success. There were over 44 people in attendence. After their dinner they went in to enjoy the dance at the Stake House. Miss Judy Owens of Salt Lake was here to visit her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Owens and family. Also from Logan wns Shirley's sister. To see her folks was Patti Robison Robi-son of Salt lake. Also to see the Robisons were Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hamblin and infant son of Arizona. Congratulations to David Anderson Ander-son and his wife for their marriage. We wish them a long lifetime of happiness together. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson were here from Logan to visit their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson and family. Also to stay with the Lester Johnsons was Mrs. Hettie Johnson, Lester's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Beagley and family of Cedar were here to visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bunker and Ulaliah. Janna Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris visited with her famiily recently for a day from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Judd and Sher-lcne Sher-lcne and Sharilynn Hardy went to Fillmore Saaturday. They visited with Jeddie and family. Sherlene and Sharilynn attended the wrestles wres-tles that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Talbot and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris were in Salt Lake, Thursday and Friday of last week. They went sight-seeing around the town to see the lights that were on display for the holiays. Marcia Talbot, who had been visiting with Mary and Elaine Spendlove, daughters of Blaine and Harriet Spendlove at Kaysville, from Tuesday until Friday returned home with them. We are happy and thankful that Allan Galli and Gary Harper were able to escape safely from the near disaster call with the train in Oasis last week. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hardy of Spanish Fork, visited in Hinckley last Wednesday. Wayne and Lowell Petersen and Gait Bennett went to Callao one day this week. Visiting at the L.R. Swensen's home Wednesday and Thursday of last week were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Larson tf Salt Lake. Dick Mecham has been home on a short leave last weekend from the Navy, from San Pedro, Calif. The Cub Scouts enjoyed a snow frolic one day last week, with their leader Thora Petersen. Gene and Carol Bishop and Dale and Launita Bishop were in Cedar Sunday to see Don and Nora Bishop at Theo Corey's They brought Vicki Bishop home with them. She had been visiting in Washington, Ut. for a week with friends. They also visited with Gwen and Billy Rogers and family at Milford. Don Bishop has been quite ill while he has been at his daughter's home in Cedar. ' Jeddie and Elizabeth Judd and family of Fillmore wcire in Hinckley Sunday at the Lee Judds. They enjoyed en-joyed Sunday dinner with the Judds Last week on television, I heard Mrs. Colleen Dutson's mother, Mrs. Norval Carling of East Ely, Nev. win a prize on a program. Mrs. Fannie Hilton spent several days visiting in Kenniwick, Wash. Her daughter, Lula Marie, accompanied accom-panied her.They visited with Fan-nie's Fan-nie's brother, Bill and members of his family there. She flew home by plane. Mrs. Dorothy Spencer went to Salt Lake Monday to take her son Brent for some medical attention. They spent Monday and Tuesday there. ' Mrs. Clair Spencer Alldredge came back to Hinckley Monday She and Dwight had been in a car accident at Green River, Wyo., while on their way to Colorado. No one was hurt luckily. Dwight went 1 on to report for duty in theArmy ' and Claire returned home where she wil stay until her car is repair-i repair-i ed and then will join her husband. I Mrs. Alda Reeve of Fillmore was a Hinckley visitor Monday. She visited vis-ited her mother, Mrs. Lydia Ekins and her sister, Mrs. Erma Cropper. A family dinner and get-together was held recently at the home of Mary Ellen and Aaron Evans in Lehi, last week. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper, Gaylen and Kathy Cropper and family, Glenda and Howard Roundy and I family, of Oasis, Connie and Doug Turner of Sutherland, Darren and Ann Cropper and family of Las Veg as. Mary Ellen and Aaron have recently re-cently moved to Lehi from American Ameri-can Fork. Beryl and Crrl Hardy's granddaughter, grand-daughter, Tiffany, daughter of Chris and Vin Cropper of Deseret was in the West Millard Hospital from Thursday until Saturday. She is feeling better now. Clyde and Lillian Wood, Beryl Hardy's parents, came over from Holden on Sunday and had dinner and spent the afternoon with the family. Mrs. Jacquie Hardv and daughter Penny of Salt Lake were in Hinckley Hinck-ley for a while Friday. They came by train and attended Jacquie's grandfather Wm. Bassett's funeral. Sympathy to Don A. Bishop and family in the passing of their wonderful won-derful wife, mother and grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Nora Bishop. She was a truly wonderful person and all who knew her mourn her passing. May the family receive comfort in memories of her. The Carl Dutson family have all been down with the flu this week. Mrs. Cleone Tolbert, one of our elementary teachers has been replaced re-placed for the present, by Mrs. Mel-ba Mel-ba Jacobson of Delta. Mrs. Talbot had to take a leave of absence due to ill health. We hope she will be able to regain her health soon. The skating rink, in the big gym, is going to be open each week now for skating, under the direction of the Hinckley Lions Club. We'd life to thank the Lions Club for their civic projects, right now especially for helping make it possible poss-ible for Santa Claus visit all the homes in Hinckley this last Christmas Christ-mas as in past years. Word was received this weekend of the death of Frank A. Scott on Jan. 15th in Las Vegas. He is an uncle of Belva Morris, Ruth Talbot and Leonard Palmer. He and his wife lived in Deseret, some years ago. His wife is Ruby Palmer Scott, a sister of Muzetta Palmer Western. Vera and Heber Bishop left Friday Fri-day to go to Calif, where they will spend the winter months with their son Jay and family at Fontana and Ariene at El Cajon. The R.L. Swensens are driving a new car this week. Eugene Morris went to Fillmore Stturday evening. |
