Show t "- O.H.S. OYER the DESK ... of the Principal We wish to thank all the students stu-dents who made a special effort to keep the building clean. You are the people who should be given more freedom in the building. You are the ones who should not have to sit in assigned seats in the auditorium. audi-torium. We are looking for a plan which will help you get that freedom free-dom and protect, as well, our beautiful beau-tiful auditorium and building. We believe that these same students will take care of the rest of the building as well. We thank those who helped in the cleaning too. They also are the ones we can expect to be most respectful re-spectful of our building. We have neglected to thank two fine men who have many times, without pay, put in late and extra hours to clean up this building. Derral Wright has been the best example of a dedicated staff member mem-ber who is always concerned about the beauty and cleanliness of our building. La Voy Exickson cannot be thanked enough. His devotion to duty was the only reason we still have our building. He discover ed the fire before it got out of hand When you see these men, thank them for their fine work. We want everyone to enjoy our building. Because some few students stu-dents do not enjoy a clean building build-ing but are determined to cause other students to feel ashamed of the actions of those who have this poor attitude, we now request that anyone who litters the building with paper or waste, drops candy on the floor or causes others to spill candy on the flof, r in any other way detracts from this clean building is specifically not invited to attend any show, lyceum, play, pep rally or entertainment in the auditorium or gym. If we find students stu-dents so attending, knowing they are violators,, they will be remov-J ed at any time, it tnere is runner destruction of property in our school, we will take action to make and post a list of students who may not attend. You have your freedom to be one Of us or be one who Is against us. Those against us are against public and all parents and patrons who pay taxes. Those for us afe real persons whom we sincerely sin-cerely thank. DHS Hews Items LUNCH ROOM: The lunch room will serve special Christmas dinner of fried chicken on Wednesday. This is the central purpose of your PTA. Every parent and every teacher should invest a part of themselves in the welfare of children other than their own. PTA offers such an organizational tool through which this citizenship responsibility can be fulfilled." Rowan C. .Stutz, Pres. of Utah Congress of PTA. The implementation of the follow ing programs was brought about mainly by PTA's support and concern con-cern : school lunch program, school equalization law; special education for exceptional children, day care centers, .child labor laws, safety laws, health services, driver training, train-ing, library services, full-term kindergarten kind-ergarten and continuing support for financing public schools. The PTA is a big movement dealing with big concerns, challenging enough for every citizen. Are you a part of this Association? You need PTA PTA needs you!! Be Careful Yith Those B-B Guns Parents ' who are giving their children B-B guns for Christmas or at any other time should carefully consider the following: Delta City Ordinance 15-11 .Defacing .De-facing or Desbdying Property Prohibited. Pro-hibited. " It shall be unlawful for any person willfully to injure, deface de-face or destroy property of another, either public or private injure or remove any monument, street sign" 15-12 Discharge of Air Guns Prohibited. Pro-hibited. " It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any air gun, sparrow gun, or other similar contrivance within the limits of the City." These two Ordinances are being called to the attention of parents because thre has been quite a large amount of vandalism within the limits of the city as well as in the west Millard County area. Similiar laws are on the state statutes. Recently, the little log cabin at Delta City Park has had windows broken with B-B's. The log cabin has been placed there by Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camps and has great sentimental value to the Daughters as well as to many area residents.
