Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper and sons Dennis and Ricky spent the 4th of July at Fillmore. Rex Lnrsen of Spanish Fork visited vis-ited several days this past week with his cousins, Layne, Dixon and Martin Eliason. Mrs. Vilate Maxfield left Monday Mon-day evening for Calif., where she will visit with her daughter, Virginia Vir-ginia Hyatt and family. Her Granddaughter Grand-daughter Karen, is being married in the near future. Glen Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Warner of Ogden, is visiting visit-ing with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner. Mrs. Jackie Black and daughters Audry and Linda visited several days in Salt Lake with Gus and Nancy Fowles and son. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper and sons attended the Cropper family reunion held at Saratoga. Miss Sandra Wade of Salt Lake is spending a vacation with grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peterson. Pet-erson. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Larsen of Span ish Fork visited Thursday with the Eliasons. They took their son Rex home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup visited at Flowell Friday with Bill and Ulala Mace. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Curtis and family of Dillon, Mont., visited a few days with Raymond's mother, Mrs. Ines Damron. Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Bennett spent several days in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. James Sampson and daughters Shelia and Loree Kay left Sunday on a vacation trip in their new Oldsmobile. They will spend some time at Sahara Village and then on to Oakland, Calif. They will visit with Jame's sister, Stella and her husband. Visiting at the home of Alfired and Georgelta Peterson were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rosenlof from Bellflower, Calif. Raymond and Georgetta are cousins. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Black and children spent several days on a fishing trip. They were accompanied accompan-ied by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jensen Jen-sen and son Brad. Mike Taylor of Milford has been staying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb the past ten days, while he is working on the U.P. Railroad in this area. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Dutson and sons June L. and Gary D. were in Salt Lake, Friday. Paul and Bruce Peterson have spent the past week in Salt Lake. Mr. Jacobson of Oak City is staying stay-ing with his daughter, Aletha Dewsnup Dew-snup at Deseret for a while. Mr. and Mis. Max Jensen spen' the past week in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Roper and sons from Kaysville, spent several days with Mrs. Roper's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Damron. Diane Oliver of Anaheim, Calif, is visiting at the home of her aunt and uncle, Lucile and Bert Hales. The Utah State Bookmobile that comes here every two weeks has really been welcomed at Deseret. Des-eret. There are so many fine books available for young and old. The women who help from our town are LuAna Jensen and Phyllis Anderson. Ander-son. Anyone who hasn't as yet made themselves available to visit the Bookmobile should do so before the summer is over. Mrs. Fay Davis is in Cedar City visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Jensen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bennett were in Richfield Saturday, visiting was Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Bennett and family. Becky Croft of Las Vegas, spent the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Anderson. Clara Bennett of Delta spent Saturday Sat-urday with her sister, Myrle Bennett. Ben-nett. It was Myrle's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Croft of Provo visited Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow. They were working on Genealogical Genealogic-al material. High Councilman Recce Finlinson put on the program at Sacxament Meeting Sunday evening. Musical numbers were given by Paul and Sylvia Finlinson. Talks were by Elder El-der David Lovell and Reece Finlinson. Finlin-son. Mrs. Eva Robison and Mr. and Mrs. Dan McDonald and children spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake, where they visited with Mr. Second Ward Hews EDDYS BARBEN Pres. and Mrs. June Black have had the 3 children, Danny, Michael and Barbara, of Ladd nd Baarbara and Mrs. Bill Talbot and Miss Eva Alice Robison. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Allred returned name Sunday from a 15-day 'James Guided Tour' which took them Into Canada and parts of the Northwest. North-west. They report having had a wonderful trip and were much impressed im-pressed with their stay in Canada. Visiting over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Cropper Crop-per were their daughter and family, fam-ily, Linda and Larry Brown and 2 sons of Salt Lake. They had spent the past week touring the Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Cropper went to Salt Lake Sunday, to be with Linda's Lin-da's father, Mr. David Lundberg, who was to undergo surgery Monday Mon-day morning. Visiting at Provo Saturday, were Mrs. Mae Cropper and sons, Ricky and Dennis and Mrs. Gaylyn Davis and daughter Debra. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup and Mrs. Ulala Mace left Tuesday for Bedford, Wyo., where they will visit vis-it this week with Brent and Myrna Mace and children. Mx. and Mrs. Clayton Zebriskie of Murray, visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Dan McDonald and children attended the McDonald family reunion in Salt Lake, Sat. Mxs. Dorothy Croft of Las Vegas, is visiting this week at the home of Mrs. Evva Croft and Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Abbott. She came to get her children, Gary and Linda, who have spent the past two weeks visiting their grandparents. Visiting this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Anderson is Mrs. Erma Dean Croft of Henderson, Hender-son, Nevada. The Deseret Ward Primary sponsored spon-sored its annual "Round the Black Parade" Wednesday afteirnoon. The children paraded from the church house io the fairgrounds. After the parade the primary officers and teachers sold hamburgers, hot dags, homemade ice cream, popcorn balls and homemade candy. A large crowd attended. Mrs. Alice Webb entered the W. M. Hospital Monday evening where she underwent surgery Tuesday morning. While there (Sunday) Ladd was put in as 2nd counselor in the bishopric of the 3rd ward of the Ben Lomond Stake in North Ogden. Pros, and Mrs. Black returned home Monday. They visited in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Kobison and brought their 2 granddaughters, Shawnee and Patricia home with them for a visit. Mr. Grant Theobald has been critically ill in the W.M. Hospital for a week. He is much improved now and is home. His family has all been here to visit him. Children, Child-ren, Benny Theobald of Ft. Bliss, Texas, had a 5-day leave to come home to see his father; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Theobald; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Theobald and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Theobald, all of Salt Lake; Mrs. Stella Sly of Las Vegas; His mother, Mrs. Elydia Theobald of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Theobald's (Virginia) mother, Mrs. Stella Tripp of Richfield. We hope the Theobald's Theo-bald's have haJ their share of trouble for a while now and Grant will keep improving and soon be out and around again. Virginia l-so, l-so, spent some time (8 days, I believe) be-lieve) in the L.D.S. Hospital, recently recent-ly with a buck injury. Also, visiting at the Grant Theobald Theo-bald home last week, was Grant's sister Zelma Theobald Watts of Salt Lake and a niece, Thilda Remington. Rem-ington. The family of Pres. and Mrs. June Black had a family reunion in Provo last week. They attended the "Music Man" arid enjoyed visiting. vis-iting. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black and family of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robison of Provo, and family. The Rulon Callister family and Frank Baker family and Helen Baker attended the welcome home missionary report meeting in Fillmore, Fill-more, Sunday, for Elder Russell Callister, who recently returned home from a "Bavarian" West Ger man 2-year mission. They report it was a very inspiring meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Kathy Thompson) Damron, of Portland, Ore. are here visiting with her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Hilda Thompson and fa milies, for a week ox so. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tullis and children David and Daxlene of Las Vegas came to visit Ralph's mother, mo-ther, Mr. and Mrs. Don T. Bishop. They had been on a fishing vacation vaca-tion and "brought some beautiful trout to the Bishops. Mr. and Mrs. David (Ina Tullis) Payton and children Stephen, Su san, Elaine of San Bernardino, Cal., vere here to visit Mr. and Mrs. Don 1 T. Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stub-i blefield (Sharon Payton) and children, child-ren, Cherxie and Bobby of Santa Anna, Calif, visited the Bishops. Mr. and Mrs. Wes (Frances Harris) Har-ris) Cummins of Saritoga, Calif., with son Vance and daughters, Sheri and Kelly are visiting for 2 weeks with Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Harris. Har-ris. Brother and Sister Evan Christen-sen Christen-sen were in Sacrament Meeting Sunday evening, after a two-year mission in England. How nice to have them home again. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moody and such an occasion. We all wish Mx. and Mrs. Kent Bishop a very happy married life. Miss Mary Jean Tobler of Mes-quite, Mes-quite, Nev. and roommate of Miss Linda Kay Barben, visited with the Barbens this week. Raymond Adams of Ephraim, son of Mx. and Mrs. John A. Mr, and Mrs. Albert Skidmore vacationed in New Mexico, Arizona, Mesa Verde, the Aztec .ruins, and visited an old school friend, also a missionary companion of Alberts, whom they hadn't seen in years. They went to "The Hole in the Rock" where an elderly couple have had a cave-type home blasted and they sell curios from the rock that was removed. Mr. and Mrs. Skidmore announce the birth of their 20th grandchild, a girl, born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. (Doro-othy) (Doro-othy) Lawrence of Ogden, June 10. Mrs. Albert Skidmore attended an Instructional Media Worn Shop at BYU for Librarians. Mr. and Mrs. Meryl Skidmore of Placerville, Calif, have irecently moved to Lehi and they visited their brothers, Evan and Eleanor, Albert and Reva. Mr. and Mrs. Buddy (Darcia Dal-ton) Dal-ton) Day are living in Fillmore. They were asked to participate in the 4th of July Parade depicting a Temple marriage. The float won 1st prize. Mr. and Mrs. Day also were on an MIA panel to discuss courtship court-ship and marriage. Mrs. Carl Ashby and daughters, Geri and Susan went to Fort Douglas Doug-las for Geri's physical for application applica-tion far a commission in the Navy Nurse Corp. Mrs. George Van and children, Billy and Michael went to Panguiteh, Pang-uiteh, met Elizabeth Dewsnup and children, Maredene, Marsha and Tracy and fished at the Lake. Mr. and Mrs. George Van went to Minersville and Beaver fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Watts are renovating ren-ovating their home on Center St. They live in St. George now. Mrs. Rex Allen of Orem visited her daughter, Arda Davis and her sister, Bernice Sanderson in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Farnsworth had her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Cramer and family of Caliente, Nev. visit here the afternoon of the 4th, then both families went to Salt Lake and saw the "Sound of Music; Mu-sic; stayed overnight then to Lagoon La-goon to spend the day. They returned re-turned to Delta and to Oak City Canyon for a family party. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hales and children Peggy and Tommy, met their son George at the Salt Lake Airport, June 25. He had completed "Boot" training at Ft. Bliss, Texa.s. He vacationed here for two weeks and his grandfather Ed Bunker and Mr. and Mrs. Varley (Lottie Bunker) Bunk-er) Dutson came to have a family dinner in the canyon. Lottie also, brought a girl friend with her. On July 6th the Hales' took George to Salt Lake to the Airport, where he took a jet to Fort Eustis, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mortensen received re-ceived a phone call from son, Keith at White Sands, New Mexico, where he is helping with tests on rockets through the University at Berkeley, Calif. The call came on Bill's birthday. birth-day. Keith's wife and five children are visiting her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hunsaker at Logan. He designs the rockets and is present when they are fired. Bill also got a birthday call from his sister. Barbara Bar-bara Spendlove in Tooele. Visitors at the Eldon A. Eliason home last week were Fred and Marjorie Ebert and family of Free-port, Free-port, 111. and King and Rhoda Hinck ley and family of Seattle, Wash. The families enjoyed reunions at. the sand hills and the reservoir. Jean Eliason spent the 4th of July weekend in Salt Lake with her grandparents. She enjoyed seeing see-ing many of her friends and relatives. rela-tives. Gayle Eliason and cousin, Margie Hinckley spent a few days vacationing in Salt Lake, then a few davs in Delta before returning to Seattle, Wash. Mrs. Verna Shepherd reports that her sister, Beth Holman, was in an auto accident June 24 and suffered a back injury. She is now able to be at home but must wear a brace for quite some time. Mrs. Orlin Roberts is visiting her husband Mick) at the VA Hospital Hospit-al in Salt Lake. He would appreciate appreci-ate cards as he has been there 2 weeks. Drue's mother, Mrs. Inga Peterson is staying at the Roberts' home to care for the children while their parents are away. Mrs. Ila Forster had her sister, Lynette Thorderson here over the weekend of the 4th. Another sister, Lemira Day came from Logan. She has spent the summer there while her son is in school. While here she became ill and spent three days in the WM Hospital. She is now at her mother, Eliza Rawlinson's and sister sis-ter Ila's. Mrs. Tom Manning (Chloe Gardner) Gard-ner) went to Seattle to meet Tom and they drove back to Ogden. She said she really had a lovely vacation, vaca-tion, went fishing on the ocean, dug clams, went dancing, ate seafood. sea-food. Chloe drove to Delta to gel her children, who had been staying at grandmother Alice Gardner's for the past two weeks. Alice Gardner drove to Salt Lake on business and stayed overnight j with her son Clair and LaVon and brought Douglas Gardner and Gary-Manning Gary-Manning back to Delta, and the j neighborhood enjoyed a marshmal-. marshmal-. low roast. I Mr. and Mrs. Quinn Shepherd have Verna's father, Frank Roberts living with them. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rynearson have had her sister, Mrs. Evan Swenson and children, Allen, Diane, Jessie, Blake and Carrie visiting for a week. She also, visited other relatives rel-atives in the area.
