Show Millard County Chronicle DESERET Mr. and Mrs. Meith Ogden and sons, Sydney and Ronnie, spent several davs in Salt Lake. Bishop Dean Black spent Wednesday Wed-nesday and Thursday in Salt Lake. Phil Christensen, of Magna, visited vis-ited Thursday with his mother, Edna Ed-na Christensen. Luoile Hales was hostess Thursday Thurs-day evening, at her home for the Deseret Rook Club. Luncheon was served and One High Rook played. Members present were: Delores Ogden, Og-den, Bessie Webb, Jackie Black, I.ucile Sampson, Arprilla Scow, MarGenne Rowley Carol Warnlck, and Elaine Moody. Prizes were won by Jackie Black, Carol Warnick, Elaine Moody, Bessia Webb, and Lucile Sampson. Visiting at the Earl Baldwin's home Friday, was Earl's sister from Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Larsen spent the weekend at Provo and Salt Lake. Mrs. Vilate Maxfield returned home Saturday, after having spent the past two months In Calif, with her daughter and family, Eugene and Virginia Hyatt and son and daughter. Mr. and Mis. Earl Baldwin attended at-tended graveside services held in Nephi Saturday, for Earl's nephew, Leonard W. Coulter of Ruth, Nev. Mrs. Maxine Petersen and daughter daugh-ter of Salt Lake, visited Sunday with her mother, Ines Damron. The Deseret Relief Society held its annual Birthday Party, Tuesday, March 15 at 2:30. A very nice program pro-gram was presented. Games were played, and a nice plate luncheon was served. There was a large crowd in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Rowley and children spent Sunday in Salt Lake, where they attended a missionary report of MarGenne's nephew. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales and Mr. and Mrs. Van Warnick were among the many that attended the Delta-Cedar Delta-Cedar City basketball game at Cedar Ce-dar City Saturday night. Darwin Dewsnup, who has employment em-ployment with the Union Pacific railroad in Calif., was home over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. La Mar Dewsnup. , Our sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. James Sampson on the passing of Jame's sister, Mrs. Alta Janiinson at Salt Lake. Mrs. Josie Moody, Mr. and Mrs. Garold Moody and son, spent Saturday Sat-urday afternoon at Provo. Mrs. Wanda Davis of St. George and Mr. Jim Sargent of Cedar City, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Cropper. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Cropper are sisttrs. Then Sunday they went to Goshen to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Vilda) Kay. Iast Thursday Myrtle Nielson rode up to Provo with Barbara Niel son and visited with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (Alta) Larsen. Barbara is taking classes at the BYU to get her teacher's certificate. Mrs. Louise Lovell went to Pay-son Pay-son last week to help her sister, Betty Christensen who is still on crutches after an auto accident. La-Forge La-Forge was out of school last week from illness. Hope he's feeling better bet-ter now. Mr. Richard Nielson went to Salt Lake last Friday on business and to see Norma and DeeAnn who are both going to the U. of U. Mrs. Ida Overson was in Provo Monday to her step-grandmother's funeral, Mrs. Rena Dixon Johnson. She died of a heart attack. Mrs. Hattie Anderson has been in Provo for the last month with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and family. Hattie has been quite sick and under a doctor's care. Hope she feels better soon and comes home as we miss her very much. Miss Jill Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Nieleson, has been in the Nephi hospital with a strep throat. Hope she's feeling better. Mrs. Jay Nelson attended the wel come home for nephew Michael Paxman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Paxman of Nephi last Sunday even ing. He returned from an LDS mission mis-sion in New York. Mrs. Ruth Finllnson returned Monday from a month long visit with friends and relatives in Calif. We're all proud of our Leamington Leaming-ton boys who won second place in the past season Stake basketball tournament last Thursday evening in Delta. Playing were Lynn Lovell, Allen Nielson, Rex Finlinson, Sylvan Syl-van Lovell, Garth Nielson, Kent Johnson and Scott Finlinson. Lynn got an award for being the most 3 ocker SUTHERLAND MRS. HEBEH ROSE Last week, Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson gave a birthday dinner in honor of their father, Amon Johnson. John-son. Those present were Floyd and Pearl Johnson, and family; Lavon and Dean Thalman and Fontella Bishop. Floyd and Pearl are from Sandy, Lavon and Dean are from Provo. Fontella is from Delta. Kenneth Porter was home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones arrived home after spending the winter in Arizona. Mr. Jones stated that they were able to see many people they knew. Kenneth Ken-neth to talk and Patricia to play the organ. Mr. Nielson told of his trip to Washington to visit with his son, Merrill and wife, the former Kay Henrie. He said he heard some outstanding remarks given by one who was serving in the Senate, and who is a convert to the LDS church. "The ability to lose our freedom if we withdraw ourselves from God." He added, "May God always keep you, and may you always keep God." Words from the convert, con-vert, a Mr. Shaefler. The Relief Society Annual Day dinner was held Thursday.
