WESTERN Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman had their grandchildren, Linda, Karl, Brent, Annette and David Jones, from Cedar City, for a five-day visit. vis-it. Their parents, Wayne and Elma, came to pick them up, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Hardy visited from Salt Lake, over the weekend, with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hardy and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wess Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hardy, visited at the Wil.ard Hardy home last weekend. Thursday, the Hardy's took Don Morris and went golfing up north. Mrs. Bessie Hardy visited with her daughter, Kay, while the men enjoyed golfing. At the Ken Mecham home for Nina's birthday, Friday, were Dorothy Dor-othy and Brooks Robison, Richard Mecham, I.aDawn and Maylon Er-ickson, Er-ickson, and Keith and Betty Corry. They all enjoyed a birthday dinner. din-ner. Lyla Rae Morris was hostess to tha Rookettcs, Monday night. Halloween Hal-loween was the theme and everyone every-one came dressed in costume. Mem bers present wore Mavis Hardy, Le-ora Le-ora Ivie, Kelly Talbot, Jeanne Taylor, Tay-lor, Shirl Bailey, Anna Lee Hep-worth, Hep-worth, Anna Lou Stanworth, Dorothy Doro-thy Spencer, Marlene Bliss, Law- anna Peterson and Elaine Hardy. Guests were Belva Morris, Natalie Bennett, Beryl Hardy, Ruth Talbot and Delma Jean Galli. Marlene was high, Elaine second, Lawanna grand slam, Shirl got set, and Le-ora Le-ora lucky score. Sharon Meinhardt visited from Kearns, where she is teaching school, with the Grant Hardys. The P-TA and Mrs. Beryl Hardy of the lunchroom, are having a turkey supper, Friday night, at 7:30 p.m. Supt. Congratulations to Etta Tullis and Don T. Bishop on their marriage mar-riage the 5th of October in the Salt Lake Temple, They have left on a trip to Idaho, and will go to St. George to do Temple work when they return. Sheldon Western home, faaturaay. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Western celebrated cele-brated their 56th wedding anniversary anni-versary on the 13th. Also, many family members have birthdays this month. Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Evan Western and family, from Dugway; Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Western and family, from Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hofheins and family from Delta. An election will be held In November Nov-ember for the office of Mayor and two Councilmen. A meeting was held last Wednesday. Those nominated nom-inated to run was Ray Brown, for Mayor, with Sheldon Western and Don Morris for Councilmen on one ticket; and Cluff Talbot for Mayor, May-or, with Howard Hardy and Arlo Taylor for Councilmen on the other oth-er ticket. Susan . Reeve visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elford Reeve, Saturday and Sunday. Jessie and I were in Springville and Provo ast Friday. We visited v,Ui 'mix- Fied Jensen and family. We made the trip with my sister and mothor. I have a nephew going go-ing to school at BYU, and we stopped stop-ped to tee him to find he was living liv-ing in the basement of Mrs. Mary Gardner Thornton's home. We had just stopped and a lady came to the car and asked us if we were relatives of Mrs. Thornton. She said that Mrs. Thornton had just fallen and hurt her back and was waiting wait-ing fee the doctor to come. This iady was Lou Cox. Enjoyed a short visit with her and she told me that .vlr. O. P. Fitzgerald was very sick. ,ou sends her regards to all her friends. Mrs. Ha e Jeffery. who had surgery sur-gery in the L.D.S. Hospital, returned return-ed home, Sunday, much better. Tony and Julia Ann Crowlay went to Richfield and left their children with Julie Ann's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ogden, while they made a trip to Salt Lake City on business. They were gone for four days. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bunker had their children with them over the weekend. Val and his girl friend, Miss Becky Nielson. Both attend school at the "Y". They are Mrs. Kent Parks and son, Graig, and Mrs. ' Bruce McConkie and son, Brett, all of Salt Lake City. On Oct. 1st, at the Smith Family Fam-ily Center, at BYU, in Provo, the Adams family, Verdella, Carol, Gloria, Glo-ria, Joan and Anthony and friends, Margo Jorgensen and Paul Spor, attended the Chilean mission reunion, re-union, from which Anthony served on his recent mission. Miss Margo Jorgensen and Anthony An-thony Adams visited with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Adams, over the weekend and attended stake conference. Mrs. Ruth Steele and Mr. Chas. Allen attended the marriage and wedding reception of her nephew, Dennis Brasher and Margie Lund, of Calif. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maesil Brasher. The wedding was held Saturday, Oct. 9, at Memory Me-mory Grove, Salt Lake City. Others Oth-ers from the Delta area attending were, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jensen and Judy. Ruth Steele and Charles Allen visited their different families, on Sunday. John and Dorothy Teichert and spent the weekend in Delta, visiting visit-ing with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Jefiery and Mr. and Mrs. Orvii Jeffery and members mem-bers of their families. Mrs. Harris is the former Mary Jane Jeffery, daughter of Aulene Jeffery of Provo. Pro-vo. Mr. Harris will be transferred to Washington in two months. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Sperry returned to Delta iast Tuesday, after spending spend-ing five days in Salt Lake with their children. Mrs. Emily Bunker left last Wednesday, Wed-nesday, to go to Salt Lake for the winter. She will live in a rest home. We know she will be happy and adjust to the new friends that she will make. Freddie and Eddie were home for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Kenney, from Hold-en, Hold-en, visited with us Saturday even- 'ng. They were celebrating a wed-ling wed-ling anniversary by having dinner t Hatch's Cafe. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy and family, attended the testimonial in -.he Taylorsville Ward for Elder Rex Abbeglen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen, Sunday after noon. Mrs. Brog Hopkins, Debra and facquie, Mrs. Cecilia Hopkins, and 5teve Hopkins, were in Midvale, o attend a wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Weichert. Lew-s Lew-s is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen lopkins. The reception was held it a Midvale L.D.S. Ward.
