Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, December 3, 1964 SECOND WARD AREA IIEYS BRIEFS LUCILE KIM1SB Mi. and Mrs. Wm. S. Bassett en- tertained their family at a Thanks giving dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Kay Bassett or Provo, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Larson and children of Nephi, grandfather Wm. Bassett and Louise M. Lyman. Their son Lynn called from Sacramento, Calif, to make their day complete. Mr. and Mrs. Garry Hardy and children of Draper spent Thanks giving and the weekend with Eth-elyn's Eth-elyn's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sor- enson. Mr. and Mrs. Clayson Cahoon en tertained some of their family Thanksgiving Day. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Otis walch, Zel-la Zel-la Walch of Fillmore, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cahoon and children and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cahoon and family. Boyd and Ethel Kimber spent Thanksgiving Day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Kimber. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Murdock and children spent last weekend in Dayton, Idaho. They had Thanks giving dinner with all of Roland's family at the home of his sister, Norma and Lyman Merrel. They spent Friday with Margaret's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Dalley, also al-so of Dayton. Mr. and Mrs. Heyborne Corry served Thanksgiving dinner to the members of their family: Mr. and Mrs. Bill Corry and children Bonnie, Neil and Robert of Spr ingville, Gary of Provo and Dixon, Janice and Del-ma Del-ma here at home. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Swalberg and boys spent the Thanksgiving holidays holi-days with Mrs. Swalberg's sister, Jean (Mr. and Mrs. Neil Howard) and family in Los Angeles. The holiday spirit abounded with swimming swim-ming and sports everyday, scenic trips to the LDS Temple, a Christmas Christ-mas parade in Long Beach, viewing ocean ships in the harbor and touring tour-ing the countryside. A highlight of the trip was the stage production of ."West Side Story" at the Valley of - Music Theatre in Woodland Hills. On their return trip they visited vis-ited with friends in Las Vegas. ....Bob Harris and family enjoyed Thanksgiving in Cedar City with Gene and Carole Holman. Happy orer the birth of a baby girl and their first child are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dewsnup of Salt Lake. Little Anna Marie weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. upon her arrival Nov. 7 at the Holy Cross Hospital. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. O'-Nash O'-Nash of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Cates of Boise, Idaho. Proud great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland Mitchell of Delta. Mrs. Ralph (Bessie) Cates was in Salt Lake to help care for the little miss. She spent several days in Del ta with her parents, Cleve and Iva Mitchell. Mr. Cates was unable to make the trip as he is manager of A.G. Store in Boise. Bessie returned to her home in Boise Tuesday by jet plane. Other visitors through the week at the Mitchell home were his brother, Hyrum and son Lloyd Mitchell of Fillmore and a nephew, Mr. Lem Gibson and stepson step-son Lee of Ogden. Mrs. lone Moore returned last week with her brother Max Humphries Hum-phries from Las Vegas where she has been visiting her sister Vonda Thayne. She enjoyed having her son Chuck home for Thanksgiving from his school in Ogden. He ret turned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller and son Kent and Shannon had Thanks giving dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pat McCune in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Hennino Heaman returned Sunday from a scenic and enjoyable trip to Cotton Wood, Ariz. I hey spent the holidays with their daughter Linda and Ray Tolbert and grandchildren Tommy and Penny Joe. While there they made a tour of the ancient cliff dwellers and some gdost towns. Leah said they had a very nice trip. Visiting lor a while with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller is Goldle's sister sis-ter Mrs. Amanda Nelson of Grants-ville. Grants-ville. Sunday Mrs. Nelson's daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ogden of Dugway spent the day with the Millers. A bundle of joy arrhred last Monday Mon-day to the home of Jim Jarvis. The adopted daughter Renee Marie was born Nov. 18 and weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. She was welcomed by her bro ther Brent and sister Lori. Mrs. Ed McGill and children Saundra and Layne of Milford visited vis-ited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jarvis last Sunday. Mrs. Nell Watson returned homo last Wednesday from Salt Lake with her grandson and wife, Robert Rob-ert and Linda Barber. She has spent the past month visiting her daugn-ters, daugn-ters, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Alta) Jamison and Mr. and Mrs. Garth (Opal Jean) Tolbert. We are happy to have her home again. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wankier entertained enter-tained their families Thanksgiving day. Those seated around the long table besides their own immediate family were Lee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Wankier of Levan, his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Max Garrett and their three children of Provo, Kathleen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. Warner and her brother broth-er and two children all of Nephi. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Watts hare moved back to Delta for this next month. He plans to work before returning to school in January. He Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Watts and Judy Is the daughter of Mrs. Lenore McCall. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen bad to use the 2nd Ward recreation hall to have room to serve their family Thanksgiving dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lyman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kimball Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hansen and their families of Provo, Margaret from Lehi, Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hansen, Mrs. Lenore McCall Mc-Call and Duane and Judy Watts and families of Delta. Adrian said there was a total of 42. Carol's family fa-mily wasn't there. The time was spent visiting and tending children but all had a very good time. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hansen, Ruth and Margaret attended attend-ed their nephew Jim Peterson's mis sion report and welcome home at American Fork. Margaret remained at Lehi for school Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bunker and children Gary, Beverly, Clyde and Sharon spent the Thanksgiving weekend with Lorna's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kalanquin in El Cajon, Calif. Friends of DeWayne Kimber may want to know that he is in the St. Marks Hospital with an injured back. He has heen under treatment for the past two months, part of the time in the hospital. His wife Beth spent Thanksgiving with him. Their five sons, Ray, James, David, Steven, and Vaughn spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bunker of Sutherland and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber. Mr. and Mrs. Bunker took the boys to Provo Sunday to meet Beth and she took them home in Price. Mrs. Loa Black took her mother. Mrs. Ethel Baker and sister Ilene Cooper, both of Fillmore, to Monroe last week to visit her cousin Vida Yergensen. Mrs. Verna Walch. Loa and Golda Jane Black spent last Saturday in Provo. The friends of Mrs. Hattie HcttH extend their love and deep sympathy sympa-thy to her at this time at the passing pass-ing of her beloved husband, Marion Harris. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bar ben and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lynn spent a short time Sunday with Gordon's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Arch Barben. Mr. and Mrs. LeRay McAllister and family of Orem came and brot the fixings of a Thanksgiving din ner Friday with his parents, Lee and Luella McAllister. It! was a happy occasion for them all. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Brinkerhofx ate turkey and all the trimmines Thanksgiving day at the home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Asay in urem. Also there was his brother Mr. and Mrs. Gary Brinkerhoff and family. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dalley and children celebrated Thanksgiving Sunday with Margaret's mother. Mrs. Berniece Nichols in Fillmore. He looks good, just like his old self with that great big smile. Mr. Wally Wright and Joan Peterson Pet-erson spent Thanksgiving wLh Joan's Jo-an's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Peterson in Orem. Nona has a new beauty operator living with her, Miss Rose Upwail of Salt Lake. She will be working at Nona's Beauty Salon. Miss Barbara Bar-bara Barton went to her home in Monticello for the holidays and will return in a week or ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Taylor gave the program at our ward Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday night. A special spe-cial number was sung by Michael Robison, son of Don and Elaine Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Parkinson and children spent Thanksgiving With his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Parkinson in Pintura, Utah. His brother and family, Mr. and Mr3. Lynn Parkinson of New Mexico and his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Brockmier of Flagstaff, Ariz, were also there. They had a wonderful won-derful visit with all the family home.
