Mrs. Dean G. Jensen, District President, conducted the meeiing. Miss Margaret Anderson, President of the Utah Federation of Women s Ciu'bs gave the Federation message. mes-sage. Mrs. Dudley Crafts gave the Treasurer's Report and Mrs. Keith Black gave the President's Report of the West Millard Fine Arts Guild. Mrs. George Ekins lead the discussion in the Home Arts Dept. A lovely luncheon followed the departmental sessions. Mr. William V. Wilson, President of the Utah State Press Association was the guest speaker. New district officers were installed by Miss Anderson. Mrs. Dale Pearson is the new district dist-rict treasurer. Outgoing district officers of-ficers from Delta were Mrs. Dudley Crafts and Mrs. Arjaan Dekker. The following ladies of the Fine Arts Guild attended the convention: conven-tion: Mrs. Kathryn Black, Mrs. Hazel Ha-zel Walker, Mrs. Jean Moody, Mrs. Melba Crafts, Mrs. LaVonne Morrison, Morri-son, Mrs. Norma Pearson, Mrs. Loa Biack, Mrs. Sebrina Ekins and Miss Margaret Ekins. MISS LEA BUNKER Couple to Wed Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Bunker announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Lea, to Mr. Jack A. Arnold, Arn-old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Arnold of St. Petersburg, Fla. Miss Bunker is a 1961 graduate of Del. a High School and has been employed in Denver, Colo., for the past year. Mr. Arnold is in the U.S. Air Force and is stationed at Lowry Air Force Base at Denver. A May 8th wedding is being planned. Mr. and Mrs. Stanworth visited with the new granddaughter and then traveled on to Ogden to get acquainted ac-quainted with another grandchild, new baby of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Summsion. Rex, Jim and Ila Stanworth went to Salt Lake to attend the open-house open-house at Litton Industries where their daughter, Janet Pearson is employed. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Max Stanworth and son. Her mother, Mrs. George Raw-son, Raw-son, returned home with them for a few days visit. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Merice Johnson of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Holman visited Mrs. Cassie Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Skeem and children spent Saturday in Nephi. Cordell Cropper was home this weekend from the BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Webb and children of Spanish Fork were here for the weekend. Mrs. Eva Bradfield and daughter, Eva Lynn, of Murray and Mrs. Emily Emi-ly Justensen and sons, Glen and Roger of Kearns and their father, Mr. Parley Elder of Delta visited with their sister and daughter and her family Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Skeem. Mr. and Mrs. Berdell Memmott and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Clif-ton Skeem went to Salt Lake for the weekend. The furnace in our ward chapel was broken Sunday so a short Sunday Sun-day School was held but no Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting. Several Oasis Ward members attended Sunday night services in Deseo-et. Mrs. Jennie Styler, Ruby Skeem and Delene Skeem took Kevin and Erma Kay Styler, Lee Skeem and Jody Stanworth to attend the Oak City Dance Revue Saturday. Students Stu-dents of Elaine Hardy presented the revue. Happy Birthday to Mrs. Alfred Stanworth, Stephanie Gillen, Mark Skeem, Sheridan Day, Rex Stanworth Stan-worth and Bonnie Day. Cassie Johnson observed her birth day Wednesday with a party. Stella Hawley spent the weekend in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Scottie Berrell of Salt Lake City and his grandson and Mr. and Mrs. Berdett Webster of Cedar City visited their sisters Vernessa Skeem and Cassie Johnson John-son last week. My nephew, Eddie Bradfield, who is serving a mission in Texas, experienced ex-perienced that big tornado in Long- view. He was not hurt in anyway. Community Church " 4l' A! Vi LETTERS . . . TO THE EDITOR MISS ELAINE COLE We sincerely thank the young peopie and Miss Helen Foster from Wasatch Academy for being with us last Sunday. Mrs. Jensen was in charge of the lunch for our visit ors. Sandwiches, salad and pie was served. The congregation of this church wishes to extend sincere sympathy to Mrs. Jack Spaxke and her family fam-ily upon the sudden and tragic death of her father on the 14th, Mr. Lowder died while rock hunting hunt-ing in Red Canyon, out of Pang- uitch. He had been on his way to visit his daughter in Delta when the tragedy occured. The funeral was held in Humbolt, Iowa. We have received word that Mr, Richard J. Homringhouse will be with us this summer as student minister. Mr. Homringhouse is a Junior at San Anselmo Seminary and is a native of Salt Lake City. He plans to arrive during the first week of June. Mrs. Etta Underhill had company comp-any over the weekend. Her grandson grand-son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. William Lee Bywater from Salt Lake City. I have had visitors again this week. Mrs. Kay Nickell and children child-ren from Las Vegas, came in late Monday night and stayed until this morning. Susan came down from Salt Lake to have some teeth pulled pull-ed and Kay came to be with her. We had a nice visit with them. It was real good to have the Nickell family back. Our pot luck dinner was nice. Mr. Fred Hauman, Jr. showed some more slides of Alaska. Sunday School will be held at 9:45 a.m. Be sure you are there. Eagle, Idaho April 14, 1964 Dear Friends in Delta: This is a sneaky way of answering answer-ing all your letters in one, but at present it must suffice. On Monday, April 5, my daughter Bonnie, her two children and myself my-self were returning home from Portland, where we had gone to get some belongings and move them to Eagle. As she was turning off the freeway just north of Caldwell, Cald-well, the brakes on the pickup failed, and we did a few fast flips into someone s field. Be we rode the pickup to the end, and when it stopped somersaulting it was headed 'back toward the highway. They took us to the hospital in Caldwell. Linda had several cuts, all were badly bruised and I have three broken ribs again as well as a dislocated shoulder, (on the right side again.) I am becoming a real pro at this. The other three were released on Tuesday, but I had to stay until Friday. I am very sore and In pain, but do manage to wait on myself. Hope all goes well in Delta. The future bride graduated from the University of Utah last spring where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and was Vice President of the College Chapter Chap-ter of the Utah Home Economics Association. Mr. Engstrom will graduate this June from the University of Utah where he is studying Civil Engineering. Engi-neering. The couple plan a June 9th wedding wed-ding after which Mr. Engstrom will be a commissioned officer in the United States Navy. LoaBellc Dlack Mangelson Stars In Dance 1964 Loabelle Black Mangelson starred starr-ed in Dance 1964 a University Theater The-ater of the University of Utah presentation pre-sentation April 3 and 4 at Kingsbury Kings-bury Hall. Loabelle danced the lead in Doris Humphrey's Passacaglia, a masterpiece master-piece of modern dance. Passacaglia Passacag-lia was staged by Ruth Currier. In Munray Louis' Suite de Danese, Loabelle again was one of t h e stars. The lyrical elegance of these dances swung to Bach's Brander-burg Brander-burg Concerto No. 2 and his "Gavotte" "Ga-votte" from Suite No. 1 of Orchestra. Orches-tra. In Shirley Ririe's "Family Album", Al-bum", Loabelle danced her way into in-to the heart of her audience as a charming girl, jilted at the wed ding alter and who found romance in a family outing in the park.
