Pullman or Coach. It is far more profitable to produce and harvest clean alfalfa seed in the first place than it is to remove weed seeds later by costly cleaning operations. With Simazine 80W herbicide, you keep the weeds out of your alfalfa stands ...which means you harvest cleaner seed and eliminate most cleaning costs. And cleaner seed means a better price for . your seed when you sell. Advantages of Simazine As a grower, you know how impractical it is tc cultivate the solid stands usually found in alfalfa seed fields. Mechanical cultivation causes plant injuries that encourage en-courage diseases, even uproots plants which means thinner stands. And the weed control results are usually poor. Simazine 80W, however, gives full-season full-season control of most annual broadleaf weeds and grasses, including downy b.-ome (Cheatgrass), foxtail, catchweed and mustard. It is safe to use on alfalfa seed fields after they have been established estab-lished for at least one calendar year. Simazine is a real aid in producing better yields of higher-quality seed. How Simazine works Simazine 8UW should be applied as a broadcast treatment before weeds i - m emerge. Following application there must be sufficient rainfall to activate and move Simazine into the soil where it is absorbed ab-sorbed by roots of germinating weeds. Soon after the weeds emerge, the leaves yellow at the tips and margins. This yellowing yel-lowing progresses until the weed is killed. Simazine is safe Simazine 80W is an easy-to-use wettable powder. It is relatively safe to humans and animals, nonirritating to the skin, nonflammable and noncorrosive to spraying spray-ing equipment. Simazine is easily removed re-moved from spray tanks and lines by thorough flushing with water.
