Show SECOND WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS ELAINE ROBISON TIIIllI) WARD Alii? A m:ws BEA WILLDEN Just one year ago this week, I started writing news for the Chronicle. Chron-icle. I have really enjoyed doing it and I thank Bob and Inez for giving me the opportunity. Also thanks to all you Second Warders for giving your news items to me. Without your help it would be nothing. Nona Chesley, Marilyn French and LaRae Peterson spent a day in Salt Lake last week. They said they really had a good time. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Morrison spent the weekend in Provo visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Chris Hansen and daughter, Adrianne. Don and I and Debbie and Mike spent Friday in Salt Lake on a real hurried trip. Deanna Clements spent the week end in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Clements and Myrna. Audrey is still in the hospital but is feeling much better. They brot Randy's baby home from Salt Lake and Ken said he is doing good now for which we are all real grateful. ' Happy Birthday Greetings this week to Floyd Losee, Steven Harris, Nolan Adams, Bishop Willard Stephenson, Ste-phenson, Gary Harris, Heyborne Corry and Donna Cox. Mr. and Mrs. Brown Sanford of Panguitch visited in Delta this last week with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Robison and children Donna, Shawnee, Pat, Ro-tin Ro-tin and Doug, Jr., spent the weekend week-end in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. June Black and Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Robison. Congratulations to Mrs. Ruth Bishop on her calling as Stake Relief Re-lief Society President, also, to Mrs. Eddys Barben who is Stake Magazine Director. We wish them good luck in their new positions. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrin Lovell and family visited in Salt Lake over the weekend with Donna's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buckmiller. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Starley. Mr. and Mrs Bud Huff and family and i Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bishop and fa-J may were in ieaar I'naay ior me wedding reception of their granddaughter grand-daughter and niece, Kay Lynn Ca-hoon, Ca-hoon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cahoon of Cedar City. She married Grant Cammack qf Blackfoot, Idaho Ida-ho in the St. George Temple. It was a verv lovelv receDtion. Charles Allen who is attending school spent the weekend with his father, Charlie Allen. M'ss Judy Callister who has been visiting her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Ru-lon Ru-lon Callister, went back to the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake where she is studying nursing. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen over the weekend week-end were Mrs. Lillian Parmley of Price and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Starr of Hiawatha, Utah, sisters of Mr. Hansen's. Also visiting were Mrs. Hansen's sister-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Peterson and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Peterson and Mr. and i Mrs. Warren Peterson, all from Arizona. LAURA BRADFIELD IRST WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS LEONA WORKS Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Roberts of San Francisco, Calif., spent their vacation visiting relatives and friends in Utah. In Delta they visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts, Rob-erts, Mr. and Mrs. Quin Shepherd and family and Mr. and Mrs. Orlin Roberts and family. They came to visit us Thursday night. We are always glad to see members of the Roberts family as the Works and Roberts have lived side by side since the Roberts moved here. They grew up together and went thru school together. It is wonderful wonder-ful to have such friends. Mrs. Blanch Works, Mrs. Lydia Evans, Mrs. Floyd Hardy and Vivian, Vivi-an, Fred, Jessie and I spent Thursday Thurs-day afternoon in Holden to attend a birthday party for Mrs. Jay Stevens. Ste-vens. We also visited with grandma Jackson and my sister, Mrs. Wells Kenney. Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Thompson and family spent Sunday in St. George where they met Mr. and Mrs. Jim Whicker and family and visited with them. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cropper of Salt Lake visited Friday with Mrs. Norma Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Wood visited vis-ited last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Wood and with their grandmother, Mrs. Norma Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Brown Sanford of Panguitch were in Delta on business busi-ness and to visit with friends and relatives. Ray Maxfield, who has been serv ing in the Army in Viet Nam has been released and is home visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Maxfield and brothers and sister. Merrill who is attending the V. of U. met Ray in Ogden and brot him home. c Mr. and Mrs. Kay Gardner spent last weekend visiting with their parents in Delta. Kay returned home Monday and Janeen stayed until Thursday to have some dental den-tal work taken care of. Kay and Janeen are moving to Vernal where Kay will be working in a drug store. , Mr. and Mrs. ' Fera Little spent Saturday in Salt Lake on business. With it be'ng Conference this weekend I didn't see who w &' home to visit. Mrs. Enid Bunker returned home Saturday after having had surgery in Salt Lake. Her daughter brot her home. People of our ward in the West Millard Hospital are Evan Gardner, Robert Olson, Ed Bunker and Jerry Davis. Surely there must be more news in our ward than this! Please call it in, 486J1. Sagarvillc VENICE DAVIS Doris Abbott has returned from a visit with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Abbott of Las Vegas, Nevada. Friday night the children of Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz entertained them with a hot dinner at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz. Twelve adults were present: Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Shurtz, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz. Dick Clark made a trip to Salt Lake for a visit with his wife Mar-jorie. Mar-jorie. She is coming along fine now and he brot her home with him. A large crowd attended conference confer-ence from our ward and enjoyed the inspirational talks and the music mu-sic and songs from the First Ward were lovely. The reception for Elizabeth and Ward Curtis was well attended and their many friends with them Congratulations Con-gratulations and they received many gifts for their new home. The children of Christina Boothe were called here as she is very ill at the West Millard Hospital. They were all here over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hare and family spent Sunday in Fillmore visiing Mrs. Freda Dimmick. Mrs. Ila Crowley of Honolulu is in Delta visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly. Ila and Betty are sisters. They both came to the mainland together Sept. 28. Ila visited her father in California before coming on to Delta Sept. 12th and will be here for an extended visit with Betty and family. We had a phone call from our son Nyland last week. He is hoping hop-ing to get home for deer season. He is still living in New York City. Bradley Hatch visited in Delta over the weekend with his parent. and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Hatch. Bradley is attending vocational voca-tional school in Provo. Mrs. Les Welton was in Salt Lake over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dewsnup and family. Miss Leslie Welton visited in Salt Lake a few days last week with friends and her sister. Mrs. Myrtis Peterson has gone Joy is like Post Cereals. It starts your day off a little bit better. Mrs. Keith Nielson was operated on last Friday in the Utah Valley hospital in Provo. Last report she is getting along just fine. We are all hoping she will continue to improve im-prove and soon be able to come home. Her niece, Joy Crowther of Fountain Green is here helping Keith with the children. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Richfield for the weekend and visited their daughter Enla and hus band Junior Baird and children Larry and Debbie. Ila Mae Overson spent last week in Salt Lake visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson and Millard County Chronicle Thursday, October 3, 1963 to Las Vegas to spend the winter with her son and family. Mrs. Nathan Taylor made a trip to Richfield Monday. Mrs. Lois Curtis and LaPreal of Las Vegas were in Delta and attended at-tended the wedding of Ward and El zabeth Friday. Mrs. Clara Bidgood and Lynda Bidgood and daughter April Lynn, of Milford visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thomas over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carter are visiting in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden and family. Mr. and Mrs Wayne Humphries visited with their families over Sunday. daughter Sandra went to Whittier, Ca.if. over the weekend. Carl went down to assist in naming their new grand-daughter. She was given the name of Pamela. The new baby has one older sister and two brothers. bro-thers. This makes six grandchild-i ren for Carl and Ethel. The County Fair in Lynndyl Friday Fri-day night was a huge success. Many people turned out from Lynn dyl and Leamington. The supper was delicious. The exhibit of fruits, vegetables, flowers and handiwork was outstanding. The small fry enjoyed en-joyed the carnival and everyone liked the cake walk and they walked walk-ed away with a large number of cakes. The proceeds went to the Organ Fund. It will be wonderful when we can go to church and listen lis-ten to the organ knowing we all helped buy it. Mrs. Mina Overson went to Salt Lake over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Dan (Shirley Sheriff) Sher-iff) Roberts and daughter Dana were Lynndyl visitors Saturday. Many people from here attended Stake Conference in Delta Saturday Satur-day and Sunday. Saturday they ha a special meeting for the MIA workers. wor-kers. Jane Thompson and Keith En-gan En-gan from the General Board of the MIA were here and gave some outstanding out-standing advise to all leaders. Those attending the Saturday meet ing from here were Keith Nielson, Rex Abegglen, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stephenson, Laura Bradfield and Kristine Talbot. They gave a demonstration de-monstration using a birthday cake and called the one from the audi ence who had a birthday nearest that day (28th) and Kristine Tol-bort Tol-bort was the one. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her and she was given the cake. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Painter and sons, Steven and Gene of Provo spent the weekend at the Lawrence Bradfield home Sunday they rode up Oak City Canyon and saw the beaut ful autumn leaves.
