Last Saturday, Wanda, Inez and Wade left for a trip to California to visit Wanda's mother who hasn't been too well. They plan to spend some time visiting friends and relatives re-latives and return after a week in time for Inez to resume her work in Salt Lake Monday. Mrs. Randall went to Nevada for a week as Randall has been working work-ing in Moapa. She stayed most of the time in Henderson with Nadine and family who live there. The Chappell's brought them home and drove from here to Nephi to see folks there and then to Lyman to visit her husbands family, returning return-ing to Henderson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield have been in Salt Lake where Randall Ran-dall had dental work done. They visited their son Dee and family. Mrs. Dee Bradfield of Murray had the misfortune of hitting a slick spot in the-road near the river bridge east of Leamington and turned her carf over. Neither Mrs. Bradfield or the two boys were seriously injured but very shook up and Shirley is staying with Mrs. Randall Bradfield for a few days while she is recuperating. The accident ac-cident happened Saturday night as they were coming to spend the weekend with grandma. Mr. Grant Overson and his son Allen attended the Livestock show in Ogden. They were shopping for a good bull, (Black Angus). Mr. Monte Long and Miss Claudia Smith were married in Nephi, Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Overson attended the reception for them. Mr. Ixmg was employed with Grant at the Rock Quarry and spent a lot of time in Leamington before he got employment in Salt Lake. The young couple both have jobs in the city and will make their future home there. Mrs. Jane Williams had lots of company the past week: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bennett, Mrs. Elmer Taylor and Ryan. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Dern Williams came from Fillmore and gave the program in church. The children sang and talks. They had Mrs. William's mother, Mrs. Carlin with them and she gave one of the speeches. Mr. and Mrs. Von Taylor and family came to enjoy the services. Mrs. Taylor is Dixie's sister. Mr. Tom Williams and wife, who live in Milford made headlines in the paper with a deer Tom shot. It was a four point and in the velvet, vel-vet, a perfect speciman as it was so evenly covered. Mrs. Williams also bagged her buck. Mrs. Margaret Bradfield had visitors vis-itors over the weekend. They came in from Fallon, Nev., and are Mr. and Mrs. Bud Lambright, Darlene and Larry Irons. To enjoy the dinner din-ner were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield, Don and LaWrene of Lynndyl. Mr. Bevan Nielson returned from a visit with Joy in Salt Lake and brought Diane home with him. Joy is much better but will require several weeks medical attention before she can come home. Mrs. Grant Nielson spent Thursday Thurs-day in Provo shopping and just made it home in the face of the big snow storm which hit Leamington. Leaming-ton. This is the most snow people can remember in 25 yrs. at this time of year and the coldest weather. wea-ther. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nielson spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson. Burton Hanson went to Oreni to help Mr. Ray Barton on a house he is building but they were snowed out. Bishop and Mrs. Rulon Dutson tried to help out with the landscaping land-scaping by taking a big truck-load of fertilizer. They spent Wednesday Wednes-day night with Ray and Luella. Rulon Ru-lon doesn't think much of commercial com-mercial fertilizer if he will haul it that far. Many of the young people in Leamington attended the Rose Prom in the Stake House last Tuesday Tues-day night and had a wonderful time. Their teachers took them and brought them home. Leamington Leaming-ton furnished pie as well as their hundred roses. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Willden and family came to Leamington to get went to Faust for a lovely dinner with Mr. and Mrs, Willy Lovell and family. The Gaynotes, Homers and a third group met at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Kenneth Nielson for a parent demonstration night. This is one of their requirements and they are showing their parents par-ents what they learn in their classes. class-es. Each person took a gift they no longer needed and will exchange ex-change with some other person at the party. Mrs. Etta Roper is in Henderson, Nev., visiting Goldie and other members of the family and friends. It is a well earned vacation after the long illness and death of Mr. Leslie Roper. Mrs. Leta Cheel is remaining in Leamington with Parley and has been a very devoted sister to Parley Par-ley and also her mother. She most certainly deserves praise for her diligence. Mrs. Ruth Finlinson has received word from Susan that her husband, Bob has been operated on for the back injury he received while pheasant phea-sant hunting. He is in the St. Marks Hospital and will be their for 17 days. They were planning to spend Thanksgiving in Leamington Leaming-ton but won't be able to come. We all wish Bob a successful operation and a speedy recovery. Despite the extreme cold weather, weath-er, the ice on the river isn't thick enough for anyone to venture on. Marianne and Betty decided to try it Saturday and it broke with Marianne Mari-anne going into the icy water to her waist. She had a hard time getting get-ting out and although the time was of short duration she was "blue and shocked. Beware kids and stay a-way a-way until it is safe. (B8US M&WB RUBY SKEEM Mrs. Ella Christensen attended the funeral of her uncle, Dan Farnsworth, in Salt Lake last Tuesday. Tues-day. She also visited with her father, fa-ther, Wm. In the evening her sister and family in Los Angeles called her on the phone and sang "Happy Birthday." Rulon and Larry Stevens, of Salt Lake, and Jimmie Christensen, of Hinckley, visited with grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Norvel Christensen, Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Golden Warnick and family in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Bishop and "Turkey again!" Hinckley - - - played the piano. The adults gave Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell. It was a musical drama with comedy and deep sorrow. I am sure all of us who saw this fine production will have a deeper appreciation ap-preciation for those Mormon pioneers pio-neers who pulled their handcarts across the barren waste. The singing sing-ing was beautiful. The play was well cast and each did a tremendous tremen-dous job. I say thanks to them for a delightful evening. Sunday evening the family of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stevens gave the program in Sacrament meeting in the form of a family hour. Carolyn announced the program. Song by the ward choir. Story by Jesse. Hinckley Ward Choir have begun practicing for their Christmas pro gram which will be held Sunday evening, Dec. 24. The Hinckley Lions have pur chased 50 more pairs of shoe skates to take care of their skaters. Be ginners skate from 6:00 to 8:00 every Saturday night, all others from 8:00 to 10:00. I Hi family, of Tremonton, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell and family spent the holiday in Las Vegas, visiting their daughter, Norma Nor-ma Watts, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Kelly and family fa-mily of Riverton, Mr. and Mrs. Ven-or Ven-or Moody and family of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Cropper and family of Hinckley, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly, of Delta, joined in a family gathering at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Os-car Kelly on Thanksgiving day. Miss Bonnie Rae Lovell, of Salt Lake City, visited with her aunt, Mrs. Lavene Cillen, last Friday. Glenda and Howard Roundy and family spent Thanksgiving with Erma and Glen Gardner in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Stewart, of Kaysville, and family, spent Thanksgiving Thank-sgiving Day with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth. Mr. and Mrs. Sessions, of Ogden, and Melvin Stanworth were here Friday and Saturday with Ted and Bert, and attended the open house for newly- married Mr. and Mrs. Max Stanworth. Also David and Barbara Stanworth Stan-worth were home for the weekend and for the wedding. The Boy Scouts have Christmas trees for sale at $2.00 each. They are at Arlo Skeem's place. Merna Stanworth has moved back home. She has been staying with Verda Stanworth after having a minor operation. Vernessa Skeem has been ill this week and was ordered to bed. Her Christmas trees again for everyone. You give them a $2.00 donation for the missionary fund and they will give you a beautiful tree. So many of our old friends came home for Thanksgiving. At the Hepworth home was Mr. and Mrs. Owen Woolsey and daughter Joyce of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth and Beth of Cedar City, Roma of Tooele, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Palmer and mother Nettie Palmer from here in town. Mrs. Evon Greener had her mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Edith Hansen, of Reno, Nev. and her son Dentley Mellen and wife Dee of Salt Lake. At the Wes Morris home for Thanksgiving were their children, Sherry and Leon Lewis and son Kirk and son Gary all of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Bennett had all their children, Mr. and Mrs. De-Lyle De-Lyle Bennett, of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Bennett and two children, child-ren, of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. K Lynn, of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Day and daughter, of Delta, and brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Cluff Talbot and family and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Morris and family all there for Thanksgiving dinner. Harold and Joyce Spencer drove to Salt Lake to eat dinner with their daughter, Joycene and son Edell. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gronning had Ralph's mother LaFay Corey and her son David of Tungsten, Nev., here to spend Thanksgiving and the weekend. Mr. and- Mrs. Loren Farree and children of Salt Lake were at the Robert Robinson home. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hardy and family spent their Thanksgiving at Beryl's parents in Holden. Mr. and Mrs. Harry June and son Michael of Antioch, Calif., were at the Jack Spencer home. Mr. and Mrs. Garry Hardy and baby Greg of Cedar City were at the Willard Hardy home, also son Wesley and wife Carol and children of Pleasant Grove. Heber and Vera Bishop drove up north to spend the holidays with their children. Walter and Bonnie Manis and Dale and Marlene Bliss drove to Salt .Lake Saturday to celebrate Bonnie's birthday and see Cinerama. Cine-rama. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton drove to Provo to see their son Ross who had a back injury in a car accident acci-dent last week. They reported he is on the road to recovery. Mrs. Lydia Ekins was taken to the Delta Hospital on Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing morning. We hoge she will soon be home as good as new. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Swensen spent I Friday in Salt Lake. Reed Stewart was home from Salt Lake where he has employment employ-ment to spend the weekend with his little family. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman spent their holiday in Las Vegas to see their daughter, Paula and husband Jack Holsten. They brot their grand-daughter Kim home with them. They also visited their daughter, Elma Kay and family at Cedar City. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Spendlove Saturday and Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Briscoe and four children of Chloride, Ariz. College students home were Gene Ekins, Donna Warnick, Beth Hepworth, Hep-worth, Norene Reeve, Ray Bishop, Bryan Petersen, Paul Damron, Ted Spendlove, from the BYU. Doyle Dutson, Garry Morris, Jay Wright, and ElDean Greener from Salt Lake and Mary Warnick. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dennison of Clover were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Bishop Sunday. At the Carl Theobald home were Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Theobald of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Verue Theobald Theo-bald Of North Ridge, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Manwell of Provo with their families. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Pratt and family fa-mily of Tooele were with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pratt for Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris spent Monday in Salt Lake doing Christmas Christ-mas shopping. Wesley Petersen came in this morning and I said, "Wesley I didn't see you at church yesterday", yester-day", He said, "No, he was having a hard time to get his chores done. His hired man that he has had for two years was the one we read about that killed his wife then shot himself up in Spanish Fork a week or so ago." Wesley said he was as fine a fellow as you would want to meet. He thinks someone else did the job and with both of them dead there was no evidence who did it.
