Show LAURA BRADFIELD Pheasant hunting started out Saturday morning with a "Bang", j Hope everyone has a good time and that there are no accidents around here. Mrs. Lucille Overson and Mrs. Hattie Anderson of Leamington spent last weekend in Orem with Lucille's mother, Mrs. Orson Crouch. Mrs. Crouch had a heart attack some time ago, but is much improved im-proved at present. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Larson of Orem and Mrs. Bess Simpson Thompson of Inglewood, Calif., (former residents of Lynndyl) visited vis-ited at the Bill Simpson home last week. Mrs. Delbert George went to Salt Lake last Friday for a medical check-up. She is feeling fine now. UTAH Her daughter Gloria and Ralph Brown brought her home Saturday. Mrs. Lucille Overson spent several sev-eral days last week visiting in Bountiful with her children Ralph and Orlean and families. She also went to her doctor while in the city. Jane and Kay Nelson took their 4-H Class to Delta last Thursday night to the 4-H club achievement program. Those attending from here were Jackie Nelson, Patsie, Phyllis and Judy Nielson, Sandra Benson, Paula and Renae Simpson, Valarie Tolbert, LaWrene Bradfield, also at the meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielson and Wendell Nielson. They all had a good time anl received many awards. Mrs. Howard Nielson and Louise and Judy went to Provo last week. Judy had her eyes examined and is now wearing glasses. A Parent-Teachers dinner meeting meet-ing will be held Wednesday evening even-ing at the Leamington School. Dinner Din-ner will be served at 7:30 p.m., followed by a "Back to School" meeting in the school house. Then Thursday evening their is a PTA meeting in Delta, everyone is urged to go. Miss Phyllis Nielson celebrated her eleventh birthday last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Those attending from Leamington were Nila Nelson, Vickie Vick-ie Nielson, Tvalynn Bradfield, De-na De-na Harder, Marylin Johnson, Jill Nielson, Cynthia Roper; the Lynndyl Lynn-dyl girls were Valarie Tolbert, LaWrene La-Wrene Bradfield, Mildred Halsey, Kay and Judy Nielson, Sandra Benson Ben-son and Renae Simpson. They all had a good time. Phillis received many nice gifts. Games and refreshments re-freshments were enjoyed by all. AVi-ley. The men went pheasant hunting. hunt-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Demming (Barbara Hayes) of Dugway are visiting at the home of Barbara's sister, Marylin Etaugh and family. Here for the pheasant hunt and a visit at the Margie Greathouse home over the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Max Woolsey and Mrs. Mary Bales of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins spent Sunday afternoon and evening even-ing in Oak City at the home of their daughter, Barbara Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Simpson and family of Provo are visiting at the Bill Simpson home this week. Barney Davis and Bud Best, who are going to vocational school in Provo spent the weekend home with their families. Arlene and Floyd" Dutson, children child-ren of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Dutson, are ill with the flu. Seems like so many children have real bad colds and I wish them a speedy recovery. Mrs. Ilia Overson, Gertrude La-Rue La-Rue and Laura Bradfield went to Nephi Monday. Mrs. Mae Overson of Leamington is still very ill in the Nephi Hospital. The married class of the MIA held their apron and overall party in Leamington Saturday night, j Those attending from here were Bishop and Mrs. Phil Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tolbert, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Etaugh and Mr. and Mrs. A-ralda A-ralda Jones. They all had a very good time. Happy Birthday this week to Ellen El-len Best, Florence Rodman and Mary Talbot. Mrs. Rodman and Mrs. Talbot are both 74 years old. We all join in wishing them many more "Happy Birthdays" and the "Best of Health." The Relief Society is holding their bazaar Friday, Nov. 10. Dinner Din-ner will be sold to everyone, adults and children. Then quilts will be sold, both large and small; aprons and lot of beautiful hand-worked stuffed animals and other toys that will make nice Christmas gifts. Everyone please come out and support sup-port the Relief Society in this project. pro-ject. Miss Lilac Christensen of Center-field Center-field is visiting at the home of her sister, Laura Bradfield. Karen Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Nielson went to California last Sunday. She will come back Tuesday with her brother, bro-ther, Ivy Jay. Ivy Jay has been working in California, but is now moving back to Utah. He is going to work at Sperry Rand in Salt Lake. HONORED ON 74TH BIRTHDAY Saturday night a birthday supper sup-per was served for Mary Talbot on her 74th birthday, given by her family fa-mily at Hatch's City Cafe in Delta. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. Ian McKellar, and son Jack of Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Welton, of Delta; Del-ta; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wielders, of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Talbot Tal-bot and family, of Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Vest, Rose Park; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McKellar, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dewsnup and Carol, Salt Lake. Gifts were given to her and also a lovely birthday cake. DESERET MRS. EDNA CHRISTENSEN The pheasant season is on in full swing but there seems to be more hunters than birds. From reports re-ports many of the men are. wearing out their shoes with no good results. re-sults. At least they get plenty of exercise. We wish to welcome a new member mem-ber of our church. Dallas Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irish Anderson was baptized Saturday by his grandfather Wells Robison and also confirmed by his grandfather in Sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Dewsnup and son Alan spent Tuesday in Salt Lake where Alan had a check up on the hand he had operated on recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stanworth and children returned to their home in Pioche, Nev., Monday after visiting visit-ing at the home of Harmon Dewsnup Dew-snup about ten days. Rook Club was held at the home of Jackie Black with all club members mem-bers present. They are Jackie Black, Bessie Webb, Arprilla Scow, Carole Warnick, Evah Conk, Fern Crafts, Lenore Bunker, Lucile Sampson and Delores Ogden. Arprilla won first prize, Delores second, Fern, low and sweep prizes were won by Bessie and Carole. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mace and daug hter Rhea spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup. Dew-snup. Ormus Dutson attended the funeral fun-eral held at Ephraim Thursday for Virginia Jensen's father. Virginia is the fiancee of Gary Dutson. Denise Palmer arrived home Thursday afternoon from her trip to Colorado. She came just ahead of a big snow storm. Tony Western and Vincent Cropper Crop-per came home from Logan Thursday Thurs-day night to take in a little pheasant phea-sant hunting. Others who were here to hunt pheasants and visit relatives were Darrel Allred of Ogden visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allred; Mr. and Mrs. Verle Black and children, of Tooele who stayed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. Black; Melvin Warner and a friend of Ogden visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner; Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Shel-don Christensen and Clay at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Christensen; Chris-tensen; and June Dutson and girl friend from Snow College visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ormus Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Webb spent the weekend in Salt Lake helping Oneta Moffett and children move to a new home. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper moved into their new home on Thursday. From all reports it won't be too long before Mr. and Mrs. Dan McDonald and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales houses will be ready for occupancy. Orin Allred was admitted to the Delta Hospital Friday morning suffering suf-fering from a bad case of infection in his hand and arm. He cut his hand while i skinning a deer. We certainly hope it is soon cleared up and he can return home. Carolyn Christensen returned home from Korea Tuesday. She spent two days in Denver and this Tuesday has an appointment with a heart specialist in Salt Lake City. ' Mr. and Mrs. Clark Wood from Levan were visitors at Sacrament meeting Sunday. They attended the funeral in Delta Saturday for Mrs. Cora Wood and came to Deseret where they spent Saturday night with a sister, Millie Dewsnup. They visited with Millie and another sister sis-ter Arlean Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Warner and family came Saturday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brower spent the weekend visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cuman Cropper. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup and Russell of Beaver visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Milden Scow and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dew snup. Visiting with Mae and Blaine Cropper and family were Mae's father fa-ther and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Stevens Ste-vens of Fillmore and her brother, Dan and wife and children of Sunset, Sun-set, Utah. Mrs. Edna Torrens returned home recently after spending a week in Las Vegas, Nev., visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Crafts and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Roper and boys from Kaysville visited with their mother, Ines Damron over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. George Cropper of Provo, Neva Cropper, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Henstrom and son and friend from Salt Lake were all down for the pheasant hunt and to visit with relatives. Mrs. Ines Damron received word that her son Raymond Curtis has been made bishop of his ward in Dillon, Mont. We certainly want to congratulate Raymond. It is an honor to hold such a position. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Conk and girls of Kearns were down for the weekend. Ralph is working in Tooele now. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Faun Western over the weekend week-end were Luella's sister and husband, hus-band, Mr. and Mrs. Hiley Campbell j of Sandy and friend Bert Fergusen of Murray. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Garth Bishop of Salt Lake hunted and visited with I Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allred. They also visited their brother Orin in the Delta Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Theobald were down from Dugway visiting with relatives and friends. Earl Christensen was happy to have Mabel Ma-bel come visit with him. Veda Robison Rob-ison from Delta also visited with Earl on Saturday. David Hales has been appointed assistant ward clerk in the ward in Provo where Harold Western is bishop. Along with his school work he should have enough to do to keep him out of mischief. THANK YOU!
