Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, July 27, 1961 Sujfarville VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Sid Barnes and daughter flew into Delta in their plane from California for a few days visit with their riends, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark. They circled the Clark ranch to let them know they had arrived and Dick left for the airport to bring them in. How thrilling!! To have friends drop in so to speak. Doris Abbott has two of her grandsons to visit her, Danny, one of Mr. and Mrs. Manly Abbott's sons, of Clearfield and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mills son, Mike, of Illinois. He will stay and enter school here this fall. Doris took the two boys to the Ogden Rodeo for the- 24th. I Mrs. Choral Clark and Mrs. Sharon Sha-ron Clark made a trip to Provo Saturday for some visiting and shopping. Bob and Bill Clark and Jay, Shurtz went fishing, but I haven't' heard if they were successful or. not. Also Zen Boothe and Ron Mor-tensen Mor-tensen took time off for some fish ing. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Boothe made a trip to the Boothe family reunion in Salt Lake. They report having a wonderful time and seeing Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Remington of Santa San-ta Ana, Calif. They returned with them for an over night stay. We all remember Jerald and wish we could have seen him. LaRay Greene, Carol Wood, Don ald Davis and LaRene Lundgreen, of Salt Lake came down for the three day holiday, for a visit with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz and family, of Salt Lake visited with their parents. Bishop and Mrs. Fre-len Fre-len Shurtz. They are having their vacation and will do some fishing too. Peggy Robison of Fillmore is visiting vi-siting this week with her cousin, Linda Shurtz. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Cook made a trip to Southern Utah Canyons and other points of interest for a three day holiday. Mr. and Mrs. John McCoy (Mau-rine) (Mau-rine) and small daughter visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen over the three day holiday. Sunday night the program was given by brother George Sampson. Talks were given by George Sampson Samp-son and brother Edwards and Susan Su-san Ashby. She also gave us a selection se-lection on the piano, "Oh My Father". Fa-ther". We sure enjoyed the meeting. meet-ing. Harold Donemade a business trip to Salt Lake on business. Elaine Nielson and a friend of Salt Lake visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Done over the three day holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver made a trip to Salt Lake (or a medical check-up during the week. We were all well pleased with the information these ladies gave us but were sorry more members weren't present to hear it. Mr. and Mrs. June Black were in Vernal for July 24 and visited their daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Doug Robison, and four young daughters. They attended "Promised Valley" in Vernal, when Mrs. Ethel Waters is enjoying a summer stay at Port Huenenie, Calif., visiting her daughter, Mrs. Fay has a real nice yard and Mrs. Robison sahg a leading role. Their marriage was solemnized Friday, July 14, in the St. George LDS Temple. The bride is the former Glennda SnQW, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant B. Snow, of Delta. The bridegroom's bride-groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George B. Estes, of Rochester, New York. For her wedding the lovely bride chose an original gown of crystal charm, styled with fitted bodice and full floorlength skirt. The rounded neckline and three-quarter length sleeves enhanced the bodice, bo-dice, and a draped overskirt caught with moulded roses surmounted the bouffant skirt. Her fingertip veil was held by a tiara of seed pearls and roses and carnations formed the bridal bouquet. Mrs. H. Wayne Holt, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, with Mrs. Richard B. Snow, Miss Linda Roberts, Mrs. Dan Hogan, Miss Julia Ju-lia Bogh, and Miss Bonnie Rae Sor-ensen Sor-ensen as attendants. They were in matching gowns of pink crystal charm with red overskirts. Jim Baird was best man, with Chuck Stevenson, Jon Plank, H. Wayne Holt and Richard Snow also attending the bridegroom. Mrs. Chris Hansen was at the guest book, and Mrs. David Moody and Miss Selma Brown were at the punch bowls. Mrs. Fenton S. Gardner, Gard-ner, Mrs. L. Jay Nelson and Miss Joleen Reece presided at the gift tables. Presiding the serving were Mrs. Ward Moody, Mrs. Perry Win-sor, Win-sor, Miss Berneice Western, and Mrs. Veva Dekker, assisted by Misses Carol Ann Jeffery, Joan Bishop, Patty Kernell, Lexi Anne Merrill, Joelyn Holt and Carolyn Jones. Richard B. Snow was master of ceremonies for the program. Mrs. R'Lene J. Hogan gave a vocal solo, and a saw solo was by Eldon Sor-enson, Sor-enson, original reading, written by Marilyn S. Holt was given by her son Kent. Julia Bogh sang "You Will Know My Love", and Susanne Smith danced. A musical reading was by Jeannie Taylor, accompanied accompa-nied by Kathleen Nickle. The new Mr. and Mrs. Estes are now making a home in Provo, where the bride will teach school and Mr. Estes will continue his studies at Brigham Young University. Univer-sity. Deseret Garden Chili Ileports The Deseret Garden Club held the July meeting at the home of Fay Davis, Friday evening, July 21 with Fay and Cleo Eliason acting act-ing as hostesses. It was held on the lawn and who would have thought a July evening could turn so cold after the heat of the day? Fay had to rustle around and get us all coats to keep us from freezing freez-ing to death. There were eleven members present.
