Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Carrington and daughter, from Salt Lake, visited at the home of Jerry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carrington. Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson and sister, Minnie Ashby, attended the funeral services for Mrs. Stapley, in Delta. Ken Clements, Utah Highway Patrol officer, attended the married class of the MIA, last Wednesday night, and gave an interesting and educational discussion on the new traffic laws in Utah. He also told us what to do, and what not to do in case of an accident. He was accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Clements. A large crowd from Leamington and Lynndyl were at the meeting. Calerie Tolbert celebrated her 11th birthday. She had a party and all her girl friends from Leamington Leaming-ton and Lynndyl were there. Games and refreshments were enjoyed. Margaret Bradfield and Jane Williams, Wil-liams, from Leamington, spent the afternoon and evening, Thursday, at the LaWrence Bradfield home. Mrs. Curt Johnson and son, Geo., visited in Salt Lake over the weekend week-end with Mrs. Johnson's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Nie-winski Nie-winski and Debbie. George has been receiving medical care in the city. They returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Talbot and family, from Magna, were weekend visitors at the home of Earl's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot. Also Al-so visiting at the Talbot home were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Welton, of Delta. Del-ta. Mrs. LaWrence Bradfield and children, Don and LaWrene, spent the weekend in SaltLake, with her daughter, Rayma. They also visited at the Veteran's Hospital with a nephew, Arnold Hall, from Pocatello, Idaho, who is recovering from surgery. Don also received medical care while in the city. They returned home Sunday on the train and were met by Laurence, who took them to his mother's, Margaret Mar-garet Bradfield, in Leamington for a big Sunday dinner. It sounds like the 4-H clubs are busy getting organized for this year's work. I hope all the young people will take advantage of the opportunities that 4-H has to offer. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cason and daughter, Kathy, from Cedar City, stopped over Sunday at the Curt Johnson home on their way to Salt Lake. They were taking Kathy in for a medical checkup. Mr. Cason is a brother of Mrs. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilkins and boys, from Salt Lake, spent the weekend at the home of Ray's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olson, from Oak City visited at the-home of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan LaRue. Dee Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nielson were at the home of Bishop Bish-op and Mrs. Erwin Nielson, this weekend. Donald Benson spent the past week in Las Vegas, Nevada, with friends. Mrs. Mary Smith and Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia Smith, former residents of Lynndyl, visited Mrs. Sarah Ann Wiley last week. They had been to Oasis to the funeral of the little Stanworth baby. There is still a lot of sickness in our town. Mrs. Ruth Abegglen is ill; also, the little LaRue children. I wish them a speedy recovery. Leland Overson is going to the BYU now. Elder Roland Dutson returned, home from his mission, Tuesday. He looks fine and says he enjoyed his mission. He spoke a few min-J utes at Sunday School. He is leav-. ing for Cedar City, where he will enroll at CSU. Glad to have Roland Ro-land around again. . Steven Nielson, son ot Mr. and Mrs. Vern Nielson, has joined the Navy. He left Sunday for his instructions in-structions at Salt Lake. We will miss Steven. We wish him a safe and pleasant experience in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Collier Lovell celebrated his 89th birthday, Sunday, Jan. 29. The following children were visitors to help honor their father's birthday: Sadie and Anthony Christensen, of Aurora; Eerma and Vernon Roper, of Springville; Eunice and Reed Nielson, of Lynndyl, and Hazel and Ferrell Walker, of Sutherland. Congratulations, Con-gratulations, Collier. Mr. and Mrs, Max (Jeanette Anderson) And-erson) Cox were Oak City visitors Saturday and Sunday, from Salt Lake City. Fred and Margene Anderson were in Salt Lake, Monday. Our baptismal assignment for Jan. 28 was a marked success. Six cars were required for the trip to the Manti Temple. Sixteen girls and fourteen boys from Oak City ward attended, performing 600 baptisms. The genealogical committee wishes to thank all who gave time and helped with the transportation ,etc. Mrs. Lee H. Shipley, Gordon, Frankie, Suzane, Tom, George, Lela and Norice, were in Oak City, Sunday. Sun-day. They attended Sunday School and visited relatives and friends. They met their daughter, LaRay, here. She had been visiting in Cal. She- returned home with her folks. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Pike, Miss Wilna Wixom, and Miss Dixie Dutson Dut-son were in Oak City, Saturday and Sunday, especially to celebrate the birthday of Mrs, Thelma Dutson, Dut-son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson and three boys were In Provo, Saturday, Sat-urday, While there they went to see "Ben Hur." They returned home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Jolinda AJld-redge) AJld-redge) Nickle, were Oak City visitors, visit-ors, over the weekend. Mrs. Don Drollinger and little son, Mike, visited a few days in Oak City last week. She returned home to Salt Lake with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley. Ivan and Susan went for the blessing bless-ing of little Stewart Thomas, their grandson. Parents are Roy and Gen-iel Gen-iel Martin of Crescent, Utah. The fast day services, Sunday, following Sunday School, drew a large crowd. Howard Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson, and Leslie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junius Anderson, were confirmed new members of our church. They were baptized Saturday Satur-day evening at the stake house. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Christensen and family were in Provo, Saturday Satur-day and Sunday. Miss Mayvonne Dutson returned home after a two week's visit in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Twiss Nielson visited In Richfield with her daughter, Cleo, and family. They made the trip with their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Maxfield, of Heber City, who were in Delta for the funeral of their grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Stapley. In California they are visiting vis-iting another son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Garff Maxfield, at Reseda, who were also in Delta for Mrs. Stapley's funeral, and convinced their parents and brother that they should have a vacation at their home. Visiting at the, Buss Shields' over the weekend were Danny and Ar-dith Ar-dith Fredricksen and bahv auph- ter; Richard Shields and Connie Wade. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele returned re-turned last week from Los Angeles, where they attended- graduation exercises of their daughter, Sherrie, from high school. Sherrie is now enrolled in a dental technician school at Los Angeles. Girls home from school for the weekend were Linda and Venna Walker, Jill Tippetts, Gayle Johnson John-son and Diane Turner. Several of their friends accompanied them. Geniel Johnson was home, visit-in? visit-in? the Bert Johnson's. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Young were' visitors at church, Sunday. Mr. and" Mrs. Bryce Chappell, of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Fon Sampson and children, of Las Vegas, Nev., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Fowles. The Sampson's brought their new baby boy to be named. Those out to Sacrament Sac-rament Meeting to witness the big event, were grandmother, Mrs. Fern Sampson and great-grandmother, Sarah McCullough of Delta and great-grandmother, Susie Sampson of Lyman. His grandfather, Fowles blessed the baby. Mr. and Mrs. William Bunker had their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Paxman, and family, of Nephi, to visit them, Sunday, Sun-day, and they all attended church. Mr. and Mrs. Elnathan Abbott had their son, Dail, visit a few days last week. Dail is in the Navy and stationed at Chula Vista, Calif., Their daughter, Arlene, of Salt Lake City also visited them. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Speelman and family of Territon, Idaho, visited i their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lau-Jrence Lau-Jrence Abbott. j Mr. Rulon Jones made a trip with livestock to Salt Lake City. Congratulations to Robert and Ruth Jackson, on their new son; also to first time grandparents, Bernard and Nella Jackson. How old do you feel, Bernard. Jay Bennett Ben-nett said it never aged grandpa, but it did grandma. Mrs. Karen Fowles and small daughter were to Sunday School, Sunday. Phyllis Munster is now out of the hospital and enjoying being home with her family. I, for one, missed the school section sec-tion of the Chronicle last week. I enjoy reading the work of the students stu-dents very much. Maybe It would help if those that did enjoy It let the Chronicle staff know and encourage en-courage it to be kept as a feature of the paper. Mr. Horace Roundy, of Salt Lake City, is down visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones, and helping them with the rebuilding of their home. Miss Lula Lovell and Mrs. Sylvia Harris and Mr. Clark Lovell, of Oak City, visited their sister, Mrs. Bel-va Bel-va Jones. Mrs. Tiena Gronning, former Del-tan Del-tan for many years and now at Twin Falls, Idaho, was a Delta visitor vis-itor last week. She came with her neaf neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Nelson, former Deltans, who were here to attend the funeral of their brother, Austin Johnson. Mrs. Pearl Gottfredson. of Circle- ville. visited in Delta during the past week with her mother, Mrs.' Lula Warnick. Several Sev-eral people in Deseret have "birthdays "birth-days in February, too, Mrs, Cuman Cropper was happily surprised on her birthday, when her children, Ira Lee Cropper and Linda and Larry Brower came from Salt Lake to help her celebrate her birthday. They brought her a new zig-zag sewing machine, which was just what she needed. Lucile Sampson's birthday was Feb. 3. She celebrates by having Mr. and Mrs. Robert Webb, from Hinckley; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hardy, Har-dy, from Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Spen-cer Webb, and Fern Crafts, from Deseret, in to spend the evening and enjoy refreshments. We want to congratulate Maesa and Lucila and, also, Doyle Mace, whose birthday was Feb, 2; and Bill Crafts, whose birthday wai on Feb. 4. Congratulations, folks, and may you have many more happy birthdays! Mr, and Mrs. Bob Torrens spent Tuesday in Salt Lake on business. Bob has gone back to work on the railroad. He is working about 35 miles southwest of Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Palmer made a quick trip to Calif. They went down Monday night and returned re-turned home Wednesday night, Mr, and Mrs. Claude Warner, of Orem, spent Wednesday and Thursday Thurs-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Cecil Warner. On their return home Thursday afternoon, they took their father, Albert Warner, to spend the next four months with them. Georgetta Petersen returned home, Friday, from a visit in Salt Lake City, with her daughter, Dar-lene, Dar-lene, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wade and girls. Little Terry Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Warner, from Salt Lake, spent two days, visiting with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner, Mrs. Inga Black went to Tooele, Friday morning, to visit with her son, Verle and family. On Saturday Satur-day evening she attended the wedding wed-ding reception for the daughter of her nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Anderson. She returned home Sunday. Mr. F. M. Western accompanied his daughter, Evelyn Robison and her son, Stanley, to Provo and back on Saturday. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Western and family. fam-ily. Mr. arid Mrs. Randell Cahoon accompanied ac-companied Mrs. Elizabeth Dewsnup to Page, Arizona. They went down on Thursday and back Friday. The trip was fast but enjoyable. . Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moody and daughter, Kathy, and Josie Moody, went to Salt Lake City, Sunday, to see the new little son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Moody. This is the third grandchild for Keith and Beth and the third great-grandchild for Josie. Jo-sie. We certainly want to congratulate congrat-ulate the parents, grandparents, and great-grandmother of this baby. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bennett and daughter, Ada and children, Jimmie and Jessie Ross, spent Saturday Sat-urday In Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Workman and children, from Layton,. spent the weekend visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ver-don Ver-don Davis. In Sacrament meeting, Sunday, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Eliason. was blessed hv hpr father and given the name Vicki Lou. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner left Monday, for Salt Lake and Ogden, to visit their sons -and families. 1 They expect to be gone several days. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Faun Western recently, were Luella's sister, Mary and husband, from Sandy. Mrs. Lincoln Cropper and son, Vin, went to Salt Lake City and back, Saturday. Mrs. Beth Davis went with them, taking her two little grandchildren home. The two children have spent the past week or two with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher and son, George, spent Friday in Nephi, visiting with Telia's step-father, Alma Al-ma Jensen, who is confined to the hospital there after a heart attack. David Hales was home from the BYU and spent the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Bert Hales. Sunday afternoon Gill Dutson brought his accordian to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Christensen and played several selections. Gill plays real well and his music was This is birthday penny month. Edna Gay Ludwig had a birthday birth-day party and paid her 5th year of birthday pennies. Erma Kay also celebrated another an-other birthday by having a party and paying her 4th year of birthday birth-day pennies. Susan Cahoon paid her eleventh year of birthday pennies. On Feb. 4th, Clyde Gillen had a pow-wow birthday party. This was his 6th year of birthday pennies. Brent and Brenda Skeem also celebrated on the 4th of Feb, their 12th birthday by putting their pennies pen-nies in the cake and Brent going into Mutual and was ordained a Deacon. Inez Kelly celebrated another birthday by having her children home for dinner. I don't dare say how many birthday pennies she put in, but I know she did. Last, but not least, a new baby boy arrived to Elmo and Iris Gillen. Gil-len. Congratulations to them. The older children are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sorensen in Delta. Don Day home caught on fire a-gain. a-gain. Just a year ago the same thing happened: Both times they were lucky and put out the fire themselves. Don said it was enough and he is having a new chimney built from the bottom up. certainly appreciated. The bishopric had a get-together at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Black, Saturday evening. Dinner was served to Bishop and Mrs. Lincoln Lin-coln Eliason, Mr. and Mrs. Orin All-red, All-red, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Black, and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Rowley. i Shirley and Ralph Skeem went to Salt Lake, Sunday, to spend a few days on business. ! Paul Ludwig was home from the BYU, this week, and gave a talk in Sunday School. Ronald Peterson was home this week from school. He goes to CSU at Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Arland Styler, from Salt Lake, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler. They also attended Sunday School. Dan Willoughby was sporting a new car, Sunday. Lucky people. Bob Day had his girl friend down from Nephi. They also attended Sunday School. I Carol Nichols had a visitor to Sunday School, Judy Bliss, from Delta. Ella Christensen was tending Vera and Dee Steven's children, Saturday, while they brought Dee home from the hospital. She said he was feeling fine. I Golden and Delores Warnick, of Salt Lake, were here to visit with i her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson, and to attend the funeral for Austin Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bond, of Salt Lake, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nichols. They were entertained en-tertained at a dinner, out to her sister's home, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Wilkins, of Hinckley, while here. Max Stanworth had his girl friend from Mona to spend the weekend.
