Betty Jane and Gene Morris spent Thursday and Friday In Salt Lake on business. Mary Abbott and girls, Mary Ann, Bobby and Eva, from Spanish Fork, were here Saturday. Harriet and Blaine Spendlove attended at-tended a wedding reception in Price Friday evening, for Vatia Oviatt and Wayne Jones. (Harriet's college col-lege roomate's daughter). They also al-so visited John and Mae Barton, who were school teachers here a few years back. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Judd had their son, Bobby, from Las Vegas, here over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth, Beth Hepworth and Amanda and Mary Judd, from Cedar City, were here over Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. Phyllis Bennett attended an Educational convention in Cedar City, Friday and Saturday. Cluff and Ruth Talbot spent Wednesday in Salt Lake. Roma and Walter Ekins and Mar-lene Mar-lene Bliss were in Provo, all day, Saturday. Mrs. Verda Steffins of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, visited her son, Ray Brown and family, most of last week. Mrs. Hilma Stewart, Gladys and Sidney Carter, went to visit their. relatives in Ruth, Nev., over the weekend. Paula Christensen and her friend, Jack Holsten of Salt Lake brought Kim Christensen o stay with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman, until Thanksgiving. Bishop Bish-op Workman spent Monday in Salt Lake on business- Stephen Talbot is home from Las Vegas, where he had employment and is now working in Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Tanner and son, were home from Provo Sunday. Sun-day. CHURCIJ NEWS Temple excursions: Saturday morning, Nov. 19, 5:30 a.m., 25 boys and girls will leave for the Manti Temple to do baptismal work. On Tuesday, Nov. 15, was High Priests day at the temple. Wednesday, the 16th, was Deseret Stake Temple day. Hmckley asked to do imy names. ROSE PROM Tuesday evening the MIA Maids and Explorers enjoyed a formal Rose Prom at the Sutherland Hall. MIA president, Enid Damron, presented pre-sented the following girls with a-chievement a-chievement awards, some for six year's activity: Leslie Diehl, Clara Carpenter, Linda Judd and Christine Hardy. Next group: Diane Diehl, Margaret Ekins, Ema Lea Taylor, and Susanne Judd. 3rd group: Beth Hepworth, Mary Judd, Donna War-nick War-nick and Karolyn Warnick. Nat'l Education Week was observed ob-served by parents visiting school and enjoying dinners at the lunch center. Avery Bishop attended at-tended the performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank", presented Thursday at Cedar City by College of Southern Utah, and directed by Fred Adams, Delta High School .alumnus. .al-umnus. CLARA JOHNSON Edith Harder went to Ogden Friday, Fri-day, where ghe and Glen looked for a house since they will be moving mov-ing up there in the near future. Jane Williams visited Sunday in Fillmore, to be present for the baptism bap-tism of the twins of Mr. and Mrs. Dern Williams. Jane Williams is also happy with news received that her grandson, Gene Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bus Bennett, of Tooele, who has been in the Service for four years, is now on his way home. ' The children of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield have been staying stay-ing with grandmother, Margaret Bradfield, while their parents had a short vacation in Las Vegas- Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Sheriff, of Oak City, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Roper and with Mr. and Mrs. Josephine Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nielson visited vis-ited in Salt Lake Sunday. The Lihoma class of Primary girls, under the direction of Ruth Finlinson, gave a demonstration on the Old and New Testament for their parents, Sunday afternoon, at the chapel. Light refreshments were served. High Councilman and Mrs. Thur-mon Thur-mon Moody were guest speakers, Sunday night, and Kathryn Harder and Vicky Nielson played a duet on the piano. Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Barney were in Salt Lake City Friday, visiting Mrs. Barney's brother, Evan Mor-tensen, Mor-tensen, recovering from major surgery sur-gery at the LDS Hospitla. They also visited at Provo with their daughter and husband, Beulah and Merlin Theobald, and young son, Brent. NEWLY WEDS HONORED Wednesday evening in the little gym, the Literary and Rook club members and partners, combined for a party, honoring the new Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick. Long tables were decorated and filled with food from which every one filled their trays, and went to the small tables to eat. After dinner, the evening was spent playing rook.
