Show Millard County. Chronicle Thursday, Nov. 26, 1959 OAK CITY Mrs. Mae H. Shipley The meeting Sunday evening had former Bishop Don Anderson, reporting his mission in the East Central States. It was a very fine and interesting talk and was enjoyed en-joyed by a large crowd. Bishop Roper took charge of the services. Blaine and Hazel Christensen attended at-tended a wedding reception in Salt Lake last week. Friday two car loads of Oak City people were at Manti Temple, all report enjoying the sessions. Mrs. Cheryl Roper took her Sunday Sun-day School class to" Hinckley last week, for a skating party. Mr. Ray Finlinson and others attended at-tended the horse show at Ogden Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Finlinson Finlin-son visited with her daughter, No-rine No-rine Shiplejr and family, at Maple-ton, Maple-ton, while the men were in Ogden. Sympathy of the people of Oak City go to Mr. and Mrs. Myron Christen's family at the passing of Joy's father, Mr. George Stewart Stew-art of Hinckley. Miss Levern Anderson is visiting in Oak City with her father, Bishop Don Anderson and family. Gordon Nielson, Junior Anderson, Burton Lovell, and Mervin Alld-redge Alld-redge were at the horse show in Ogden, Thursday and Friday. The funeral services for John Alldredge was really fine. A very large audience of sorrowing relatives rela-tives and friends attended. The flowers were lovely and many. The services of the American Legion, at the graveside, will be a big comfort com-fort to the family. The flag was presented to Mrs. Alldredge by the Legion. The speakers at the services ser-vices were LeRoy Walker, Carl Workman and Bishop Roper. Lyman Finlinson sang a beautiful solo. Glen Spendlove and Co. sang. The choir sang the opening and closing numbers, led 'by Keith Rawlinson. The Relief Society Bazaar will be held Saturday night, Nov. 28th, at the Recreation Hall. Quilt and other oth-er handiwork and refreshments will be sold. A good program will be given. The public is invited to attend at-tend and join in the evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Finlinson and little son, spent a few days with Kent and Sandra Dewsnup at Logan. Lo-gan. They attended the horse show at Ogden. OASIS ELLA CHRISTENSEN On Nov. 13, Mrs. Loa Black and Mrs. Biah Sjostrom attended a cancer can-cer school in Salt Lake City at the Utah Hotel. The main discussion was on the relation of smoking to lung cancer. A panel discussion consisting of prominent Doctors in Utah was given. Dr. Hall from the Board of Education was on the panel pa-nel to answer questions. Two National Na-tional officers were present. Following Fol-lowing the lecture a banquet was held. A pre-Thanksgiving dinner was held Sunday Nov. 22, at the home Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson are telling of the arrival of another grandchild, a little son, born last Saturday, Nov. 21, to Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black, at Delta. Mr. Esdras Finlinson and Lennox Len-nox Finlinson visited in St. George last week. They also spent some time visiting at Enterprise, with Esdras' daughters, Romona and La Mae and families. Cecil Jacobson was in Oak City over the weekend, visiting from Salt Lake. Mrs. Mary Finlinson is visiting in Salt Lake a few days. WHO S 1 m m THIS AREA ' .' Oscar Kelly and Lee Davis spent several days . in Las Vegas last week. Mrs. Biah Sjostrom received word from her daughter Mrs. Vergie Mur ray of Grass Valley, California that her son Jimmie had fallen and broken his arm. They had planned on visiting the Sjostroms on the Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the accident, they won't be able to come home. Cheer up Jimmie, maybe may-be you can come for Xmas. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Skeem left for Cedar City Friday to spend the weekend with their mother Mrs. Dessie Webster. Mr. and Mrs. Parrel Cropper and family from Provo were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly celebrated cele-brated their wedding anniversary Nov. 20. They were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly at a steak dinner din-ner at the City Cafe. Mrs. Biah Sjos trom was also a guest. Saturday a family dinner was. held at the home of Inez and Peck. They were presented with a beautiful set of dishes, with best wishes from their children and grandchildren. Mrs. Alfred Stanworth has been visiting with her mother in Ogden. She returned home Sunday. Earl Stanworth and Mario Cropper Crop-per attended a horse show in Ogden Og-den last week. They each entered a horse in the show. Mrs. LaVeda Bishop left for Las Vegas last Friday where she visited visit-ed with Mr. and Mrs. David Bishop and family, she also met her sisters sis-ters and her mother there. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth visited vi-sited with Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Stewart Ste-wart and family in Kaysville last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roundy and daughter Cheryl and Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Skeem were in Salt Lake last Friday. They took the baby in for a medical check up. The cast was taken off the baby's leg, her condition con-dition seemed to be on the improv-ment. improv-ment. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cahoon are in Las Vegas this weekend visiting with their daughter Lucile Smith and family. Melvin Stanworth is home again. He has been working in Nevada the past several months. Lon Bronson from Fillmore visited visit-ed Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson were in Provo Thursday. Mrs. LaVeda Bishop visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bishop in Logan Lo-gan last Tuesday and Wednesday. Max Whiting and daughter Vickie Vick-ie from Bountiful and Mr. Randel Whiting from Ogden spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Leona Anderson. Ander-son. .Mrs. Phyllis Anderson had her neice and family Mr. and Mrs. Keith Warnski from Lehi with her Sunday. Mr. Albert Johnson was in Fillmore Fill-more Monday on business. Mrs. Celia Christensen entertained enter-tained at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner din-ner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen made a trip to Salt Lake City Saturday. Our sympathy goes out to Faye Clark and Doris Abbott in the loss of their father and brother, also to Mary Abbott for the loss of her father George Stewart. Cal Boothe made a trip to Tre-monton Tre-monton for his wife and also visited visit-ed their children in Salt Lake City on their way home. Sunday night the program was given 'by the Bishopric, conducted by Eishop Frelen Shurtz. Talks were given by Tressa Jensen and Jacosa Shields; a piano selection by Elizabeth Eliza-beth Hinckley. A large crowd was in attendance. The bake sale we had Saturday was very successful, and we thank all those who helped make it so. We are sorry to see Mr. and Mrs. Don Poulson and family move into in-to Delta, as they will be missed in our community, our loss will be some one else's gain.
