Show - I Oak City News MRS. MAE H. SHIPLEY Oak City enjoyed the nice road show it would be hard for judges to decide the best. They were all so good, all showing much work and study to have so many people participate. Sunday evening Sacrament Services Ser-vices were well attended. The speakers were Mr. Thomas Pratt of the high council and Mr. Kay Gardner, Gar-dner, a returned missionary. Their remarks were very fine, really interesting. in-teresting. Mr. Gardner took the book of Mormon for his subject. The choir furnished special music, led by Keith Rawlinson. Mrs. Afton Dutson was at the organ. The guide boys of the Primary spent Saturday at Maple Dell at Payson Canyon. The teachers that went with the boys were Ivan Shipley Ship-ley and Ada Jacobson. They spent a very instructive and enjoyable trip. The Scouts had an over night camp in South Walker canyon Wednesday night. They enjoyed the camping the leaders were Dean Anderson and Marion Anderson and went with the boys. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Sheriff, Scott and Evan Sherriff and Bruce Lovell spent several days in California Calif-ornia visiting Margaret and Larry Densley Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kennedy and little daughter are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Harris and the relatives. Their home is at Illinois. ' - Mr. and Mrs. Monan Lovell and boys have visited the past week in Oak City Monday morning they left to make their home in Massachusetts Mass-achusetts for the next 19 months. Monan is working in the Air Force. Mr. Leo Finlinson and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson and family spent a few days in Blanding Utah and attending the Lyman family Reunion while there. Miss Roberta Lovell and Miss Margaret Alldredge visited last week in Salt Lake City. They report a wonderful time while there. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson and daughter, Rachel went to California last Thursday. They took their daughter, Melba Bennett and children child-ren home after a few weeks visit vis-it in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson and family from California are visiting in Oak City and Delta with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. John LeFevre and children are Oak City visitors from Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson and sons, Newell, Moyle and Bryant and their mother, Mrs. Mae Shipley were in Salt Lake City Saturday. They attended the Christenson reunion re-union while Mrs. Shipley visited with her-children at the Danan Dodge home and the little new grandson at the Wesley Shipley home. People from Oak City that attended at-tended the Chirstenson reunion at Fairmont Park in Salt Lake City 'ast Saturday were Mrs. Genevieve Christensen, daughters, Hazel and Axdella and son, Blaine; Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lovell, Mrs. Esther Christensen and daughter, Laura; Ferron and Leoyd Lovell and their families and Mrs. Twiss Nielson and Harold Anderson and family. They Teport a very nice time and an exceptionally fine program. A large crowd was out for this reunion. re-union. About two weeks ago, a very fine patio supper was served to about 20 friends at the LeRoy Walker home. Roy acted as chef at the hot dog grill. Mrs. Walker served .he lovely supper at tables, cafeteria caf-eteria style. It was moonlight and the lights on the patio made a very lovely setting. Marshmellows were toasted at the fireplace as it was used for the first time. This was such a nice evening. I was sorry I forgot to mention it two weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson had visitors arrive by plane from Salt Lake City and St. John. They visited vis-ited a few hours. The visitors were Jean, a roommate of Margine when she lived In Salt Lake City, Jean's brother was with her. Mi. and Mrs. Alden Nielson and children from Milford were Oak City visitors on Sunday. Mrs. Esther Christensen and daughter, Laura are visiting this week in Salt Lake City with son. Antone and dauhgter, Verona and families. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson and children visited at Granger with Betsy and Leonard Weldon and Mr. Clarence Ea?t in Provo. They all attended the East family reunion in Ogden on Saturday. Mr. Junior Anderson and family spent the past week at Yellowstone Park. Mrs. Ruth Anderson and son, Glen and Wesley Dutson spent the weekend in Salt Lake City and Pleasant Grove. CLARA JOHNSON Margaret Bradfield came home from Tooele Hospital Saturday with her daughter, La Verne Peters from Mesa Loma, California, Opal Lam-bright, Lam-bright, Fallon, Nevada, and grandchildren, grand-children, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hall and daughter, Susan from Pocatel-lo; Pocatel-lo; Idaho. Also there were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield and children child-ren from Lynndyl. Margaret has to return to Tooele Tuesday for medical med-ical treatment. Sunday afternoon, Margaret Bradfield, LaVerne Peters, Opal Lambright, Lela Brannon from Tooele, Too-ele, and Arnold, Leila and Susan Hall enjoyed a chicken dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield's home at Lynndyl. Monday evening, Arnold and Leila Hall and daughter, Susan returned home to Pocatello, Idaho. My Neighbors "And what. do you do besides be-sides teaching swimming?" Leila is the former Leila Peters and granddaughter of Margaret Bradfield Brad-field and Susan is Margaret's great granddaughter. M. and Mrs. Ehvood Dutson have been visiting the last week with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thater and Mrs. Ret a Peterson came from Sci-pio Sci-pio and took brother Calib Dutson back with them for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Carsen, Mrs. Delia Circuit and Mrs. Annie Fox all of Lehi visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson Wednesday. Mrs. Shirley Snyder and children Mrs. Frank Grygla and baby visited visit-ed their mother, Mrs. Clara Johnson Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Eddie and Judy visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and Clara Johnson Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Nielson came home from Salt Lake City Wednesday where Mr. Nielson has been receiving medical aid. He is feeling much better but returned to Salt Lake City Thursday for further fur-ther treatment. A large crowd enjoyed the colorful color-ful and talented road show of course we were especially proud of the acclaim our own group received. Saturday eveing the MIA rewarded the young' people who took part with a banquet at the hall. The program at Church Sunday night was brought by high councilman council-man LeClead Nielson, who talked along with Pat Barney and Alma Western who also sang "Secret Ken Carroll has returned to his home at Hinckley and post at the Delta depot after an appendectomy appendec-tomy in Salt Lake City a week ago. The two young ladies arrived Monday Mon-day afternoon from Los Angeles, and will stay until Sunday. Tuesday Tues-day night Mrs. Kennard Riding and Mrs. Bob Riding were hostesses at a family dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Riding. The meeting was held on August 10 at the home of Jackie Black. The prayer was offered by Nancy after which Marilyn lead in singing sing-ing "The More We Get Together."
