Show e&sns News Mr. and Mrs. John Rossister and son, Jon, called In to see us last Wednesday. They were on their way to Colorado. The Rossisters lived in Delta when the airport was built. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Day and family fam-ily attended funeral services for Mrs. Day's father, John E. Williams in Provo, last Friday. Charles, Sammie and Richard Howell have been in Beaver, visiting visit-ing their grandmother, Mrs. Amy Brinkerhoff since Memorial Day. Morgan went down for the opening of fishing season and brought them home. Celia Christensen spent Sunday in Fillmore. Clark, David, and I Jerold went fishing Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Michel Adams and family from Salt Lake, spent the weekend with us. We all went to Kanosh for the opening of fishing season. While fishing I saw Carl Stanworth and 'family, Melvin Stan- worth, Grant Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Skeem, Mr. David Nichols, and Ralph and Carol Nichols, Buck Wilkins and Ed and Celia Christensen. Dewain and Earl Stanworth and families spent Saturday at Fish Lake. Toni Skeem and family and Howard Roundy fished on the Fre mont River. Kelly Hawley went to Beaver on Saturday. He met Mrs. Telia Strang from Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Hawley from Las Vegas. Besides Be-sides fishing, they had a very nice visit. Kelly, Telia and Rollo are brothers and sister. Mrs. Rose Nichols and daughter Carol are spending this week In Salt Lake, visiting the new granddaughter. grand-daughter. Relief Society work meeting was held Tuesday. The day was spent in quilting and sewing. Dinner was served at one o'clock to all mem: bers present Mr. and Mrs. Fon Roy Hawley attended at-tended graduation exercises, Friday night, in Provo for their daughter, Miss Marlena Carling and Mark L. Lewis. Saturday, they went to the Manti Temple for the marriage ceremony of Marlena and Mark. Keith Stanworth was home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. Speed Riding of Delta, spent Friday until Sunday at Pang- uitch Lake. !y Neighbors "Well, Crst you get some decent de-cent fishing tackle... then..." Mr. and Mrs. George Young, of Las Vegas, Nevada, were Delta visitors vis-itors during the week, bringing home Mrs. Young's daughter, Mrs. Juanita Blessum, after a visit with them in Las Vegas. SHIPLEY Tuesday evening, the Bee Hive Swarm Droeram was held. The teachers are Miss Mayvonne Dut son and Mrs. Theo. Roper. The pro gram the Bee Hive girls gave was eood. A social dance and refresh ments followed the program for all the MIA people . Mareo Nielson and Bonnie Rae Lovell are visiting in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Winston Nielson Kindergarten started Monday, June 1st in Oak City. Students from Leamington, Lyrmdyl and Oak City attending. Mrs. Margaret RoDer is the teacher this year. A sock and hanky party was held in the canyon Friday night, for Elder El-der Larry Shipley and Garth Fin-linson. Fin-linson. Both entered the mission home June 8, and will leave by air June 15, for the Northern Mexican mission field for a two and one half year mission. We are happy to have these young men leave for an LDS mission. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson have a new baby girl,- born June 1, at the Payson hospital. Mr. Anderson brought Margene and baby home Sunday. Congratulations, to parents par-ents and all concerned. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell and sons, Keith and David, attended graduation exercises at Logan, U. S. U. Their son, Brent, received a degree in Business Management Congratulations, Brent. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper attended attend-ed the graduation exercises of son, Devon and grandson, Clinton Roper, at Logan. Miss Orpha Anderson is home for a 'few days' visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley were In Provo Sunday to assist in blessing bless-ing and naming of their little granddaughter. She was named Marjene by her father. Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Christensen. The dance Saturday night, for Elder Garth Finlinson, was a very enjoyable evening for all attending. attend-ing. Mr. Burnis Finlinson acted as emcee for the program. Numbers on the program were duet by Kenneth Ken-neth Finlinson and William Dut-son; Dut-son; quartet by Paul Finlinson, Bryce Finlinson, Norine Shipley and Georgia Whatcott; talks were given by Bishop Roper, Elder Garth Finlinson Fin-linson and Garth's father, Mr. Ray Finlinson. Mrs. Edith Finlinson was accompanist for the quartet. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Sheriff, attended the graduation exercises at BYU, Friday night. Scott Sheriff, Merton Lovell and Vance Finlinson receiv ed their Masters Degree. Congratulations Congratu-lations to these fine young men. Mr., and Mrs. Eldon Coleman and sons, from Helper, Utah, visited with his sister, Eldonna and fam ily at Oak City last week. Mr. Victor Roberts and daughter, Gayle and son George and wife, were visitors in Oak City, visiting with relatives; also, Mr. and Mrs Cliff Talbot and son, George and wife visited. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Prisley and children, from Nephi, spent Satur day and Sunday, with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup are In Oak City for the summer. They will return to Logan again this fall for school. taking part were Gloria Allred, De-lene De-lene Black, Nancy Black, and Frances Fran-ces Elack. The Bishopric was in charge of the next part, called, "Name the Tune.' Prizes were given to the winners and It was really a lot of fun. Sorry more weren't out to participate. A dance was held after the program. Mr. and Mrs. Maylon Erlckson went to Salt Lake City Friday, to attend the wedding dance for Mau-rine Mau-rine Farnsworth. Maurine is the daughter of Florence Moody, and we all remember her for her lovely singing here. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Conk and family and Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Rowley Row-ley went to Idaho to attend the funeral services for Mr. Emerson Wheeler. Sorry to hear about Varlo Cahoon breaking his leg. He will be in the hospital for some time. Both bones were broken. Sister Martha Mace Is still in the hospital at Las Vegas, but she is improving and can swallow liquids now. We surely hope she can continue con-tinue to improve. Raymond and family left Tues day for Salt Lake City. They visited visit-ed with Jarene's mother and family fam-ily and then went to Logan to visit vis-it Ina Rae and family and attend Clinton's graduation exercises. They returned home Saturday . I guess most of the people a-round a-round here went to the lakes and streams for the opening of the fishing season. Many reported having hav-ing good luck and lots of fun. They filled up on 'fish and still had some to bring home. Most of the people who didn't go fishing attended conference in Delta and heard many interesting and inspirational talks given. Mr. LaVar Rockwood of the Unified Uni-fied School System, gave a good report on the BYU and stressed the importance of education. We should teach our young people to take advantage of their opportunities opportuni-ties and find the true values of life. President Black gives us this thought: "We Love Whom We Serve." If we love money more than anything else, we will spend our time trying to get it. If we love God, we will serve Him. The real purpose In life Is to use It for something that will out last It.
