CLARA STEWART Ward Pcrty Thursday night a party was given honoring the retiring Bish opric of the Hinckley Ward. Dinner for everyone was served at 7 p.m. Program at 8 was: Invocation, Pres. Verdell Bishop; Community Singing led by Ivy Allred, accompanied accom-panied by Ruth Talbot; Reading, Dorothy Damron; Double trio, (Autumn (Au-tumn Leaves) Lois Wilson Elaine Hardy, Ivy Allred, Joy Hurst, Dana Bishop and Delma Jean Galli. Telephone conversation, Angie Pratt; Solo, Erma Cropper, accompanied accom-panied by Roma Ekins. Bishop Roy, Oren and Orlando, then read their wills. Roy willed the church farm with all it's dodder and the seminary lawn full of dandelions to Bishop Elden. Oren willed the kids at the show to Calvin and hoped he would have a "Tub full of Bliss." Orlando willed the primary to R; but not his wife who is president. Carl and Karl willed all the records and reports to George Ekins and Blaine Spendlove, also the filing box of green cards. Beverly Bennett and Linda Lou Talbot sang a duet, accompanied by Ruth Talbot; Piano and Organ Duet, Roma Ekins and Ruth Talbot; Tribute, Beth Pratt; each one of the Bishopric were presented a gift as a token of love and appreciation for their labors. Benediction, Don A. Bishop. Belva Morris and Ivy Allred, choir presidency, headed the committee com-mittee to plan this party, which was a huge success. Paul and Maureen Virgin and two children of Covena, Calif., are spending their vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Bishop. Garry Wolfinden, a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Western, who is in the U.S. Air Force, was here on a ten day leave. He will now be sent to Pensacola, Florida, for further training. Mrs. Eva Greener and her mother Mrs. Edith Hansen of Salt Lake, came last week for a brief visit. Her mother returned but Eva will stay for awhile. Mr. and Mrs. Norval Carling and daughter Joyce from East Ely, Nev., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Dutson. The Terry's, Heith, Thurzal, Howard How-ard and Que, came from Los Angeles, Ang-eles, Calif., for their yearly deer hunt. We didn't see them in town but they met the fellows in the hills. Stanley Knight and family joined parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Theobald for the hunt. Lewis Tullis and wife of Las Vegas, vacationed with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Tullis. Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Morris spent Saturday in the Manti LDS temple. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Rollins and two sons visited with the Elden Hurst family Sunday morning on their way back home to Reno, Nev. Meldon J. Dorthey Morris, Wanda Barnes and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lewis of Salt Lake were here to see relatives and friends over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Randle Swensen have as their house guests this week, Mr. and Mrs. Ree Brinkerhoff and children of Lovelock, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Wolfinden and children and their aunt, Mrs. Gladys Hoy, all of Salt Lake spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Alma Western. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Spendlove and children of Ogden are here in town to see how their mother was after her fall and to visit other relatives. Mrs. Spendlove is recovering recov-ering nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Aroet Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Taylor and their families went to Loa Saturday Satur-day for the funeral of their uncle, Lorenzo I. Taylor. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor on the arrival of a tiny 4 lb. 12 oz. son. Norma came home feeling fine but the baby had to remain in the hospital a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ekins left Saturday for Cedar City to get their sheep off the moutain. Joycene Spencer and girl friend from the BYU were home over the weekend. Charles Kernell is well enough to get out and ride around a little. He and Ellen just called to see us for a few minutes and had a nice chat. Birthday Party Mrs. Lois Wilson and Evelyn Morris gave a birthday party Saturday Sat-urday night at the Wilson home for Leon Lewis' birthday which was Thursday and Sherry's, Monday. Mon-day. Dinner was served. Other guests were Lyla Rae and Larry Morris, Wanda Barnes, Eddie, Garry, Wesley and Dorthey Morris and Lee Wilson. Bridal Shower A Briday Shower was given for Miss Bonnie Walker at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Petersen Saturday night by May Jean Damron, Dam-ron, Edith Rosa Schlappi and Esther Est-her Petersen. Invited guests were Linda Lue Talbot, Sharon Law, Linda Allred, Karolyn Morris, Joalyn Stapley, Paige Bassett, Anette Petersen, Jerri Hale, Connie Cropper, Martha Crafts, Kathy Petersen, Sharon Hardy, Diane Cluff, Susan Beckwith, Myrna Western and Mrs. Fay Walker. Wright as members of the committee and Mrs. Etta Tullis, teacher. Talks were given by Mrs. Vera Stevens, Betty Jane Morris, Randle P. Swensen and Leonard Palmer. Special numbers were sung by the ward choir. The Invocation by Dale Bliss and Benediction by Dana Pratt. Temple Excursion A Temple excursion was announced announ-ced for Saturday, November 1, for all the Priesthood members and their wives. If there are enough going they will take the Bus. Relief Society A special social was held Tuesday Tues-day honoring the retiring presidency presid-ency of the Relief Society. A good program was given with luncheon served after. They were presented gifts of appreciation for their untiring un-tiring work and devotion to the cause. They were truly a wonderful wonder-ful presidency. Primary A Hallowe'en Surprise Party was given all Primary children in the big, gym Wednesday afternoon. M.I.A. The M.I.A. all met in costumes for the big Hallowe'en Party held Tuesday night in the gym. Concession Con-cession boothes were built and dancing and games were enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kramer and three small sons from Provo visit ed with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lud- wig and family over the weekend Sunday evening Brother Kramer and Martin were the speakers, and Brother Kramer played two piano selections. These men met in the service and through this meeting, Walter Kramer was introduced to the Mormon religion. Needless to say the experiences and testimony of this good man was an inspiration inspira-tion to all who attended that meeting. meet-ing. And Peter II. Mr. Wayne Tanner from Sacramento, Sacra-mento, Calif., has been visiting his cousin, Duane Stanworth, during the deer hunt. Ila Stanworth drove to Salt Lake last Friday and brought her mother, moth-er, Mrn. George Rawson, back with her. Richard Maxwell has been visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stanworth, also. The bride was lovely in a gown of lace and nylon net over satin with a fitted bodice above the bouffant bou-ffant floor-length skirt. Her fingertip finger-tip veil was held by a cap of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of red and white carnations. Bridal attendants were Mrs. Phyllis Phyl-lis Anderson, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, Ronilla Hunsaker, Dorothy Thomas and Berdean Slack. They were gowned alike in white and red, and carried bouquets bou-quets of carnations. Gary D. Dutson stood as best man for his brother. Receiving with the young couple and bridal party were their parents, par-ents, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup, and Mrs. Zada Dewsnup. J Gary Dutson was master of ceremonies cere-monies for the program. Kent Dewsnup Dew-snup played a saxophone medley of love songs, with piano accompaniment accomp-animent by his wife, Sandra. Ronilla Ron-illa Hunsaker gave an .original reading. Noel Twitchell sang "Tea for Two," with Beulah Barney as accompanist. Mrs. Mignon Erickson Hatch played a piano solo. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western sang "I Love You Truly." The guest book was in charge of Mrs. Mignon Hatch. Monday night, Clare Stephensen gave a historical review of events and happenings thru the years, Mary Wright read a poem "Friendship," "Friend-ship," Melba Jacobson gave a vocal voc-al solo, "My Best To You," and La-Rue La-Rue Nickle gave a humorous reading read-ing of happenings. After the reading read-ing a stunt and song by Deona Black, Rae Huff, Orvetta Nickle and Lenore Gardner were enjoyed by the group. The club was honored by the presence of two former members, Lorna Bunker, Delta, and Carol Schlappi of Fillmore. Under the direction of the Extension Ex-tension Service they received training train-ing designed to help in teaching belter homemaking practices and works for community improvement. Some of the special demonstrations demonstra-tions that the leaders will be presenting pre-senting are, "Management i n Homemaking," "What's New in Home Furnishings," "Buymanship," "Selection and Care of Fabrics," and "Food Comes First." The ladies from West Millard who will be in charge of these demonstrations are Yvonne Church, Gladys Eppich, Mary Bassett, Inez Moody, Norma Pearson and Mary Wright. SUTHERLAND WARD RELIEF SOCIETY BAZAAR The Sutherland Ward Relief Society So-ciety will hold their bazaar on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the recreation recrea-tion hall.
