SHIPLEY A large crowd of members and visitors attended the sacrament meeting Sunday following Sunday School. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. John LeFevre was blessed and named by the father, .the name given him was Layne A. Grandfather, Grand-father, Elden Anderson and the bishopric assisted at the ceremony. Edgar Whitt Lovell, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Lovell wag- confirmed con-firmed a member of the church by his father, following his baptism. Testimonies of the congregration and music by the choir made a very enjoyable meeting. The Farm Bureau meeting was held Friday evening. A nice crowd of members were present discus sing the installing of scales and other business vital to farming. Mr. and Mrs. DeLynn Nielson from Salt Lake City also Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson and children of Milford were Oak City visitors on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Morrey Anderson Ander-son and family visited a week ago in Oak City and Delta. Their home is at Kearns. Mrs. Mary E. Anderson had her sister, Eva Johnson, from Flowell, visiting last week. Mr. Earl Harris spent several days in California on business last week. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rawlinson and children attended the funeral services of her grandmother, Mrs. East, at Ogden last Tuesday. An extra Relief Society meeting was held last Tuesday. Quilting and needle work was done, also a demonstration of soap making was given. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson and Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson attended attend-ed the funeral services of Mrs. East at Ogden last Tuesday.' Sunday evening Primary conference confer-ence was held with Mrs. Ann Roper the president, presiding. The theme of the program was "The Gospel Light" with Mrs. Eldula Rawlinson acting as reader. All classes took part under the direction of their teachers. Mrs. Sarah Finlinson led the singing with Mrs. Margene Anderson as organist. It was a real fine Primary program. Mrs. Burton Hansen was the Stake visitor present, Mr. Hansen also was present. Mrs. Lemira Dutson, Miss Jean-ette Jean-ette Anderson, Mrs. Afton Dutson, Miss Meredith Anderson and Mrs. Emma Talbot were in Provo Saturday, Satur-day, where they assisted in giving a program at the State Mental hospital. They report a very nice experience and very enlightning. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Christensen, Mrs. Genevieve Christensen and son Blaine were at Manti Saturday afternoon, where a large group of Christensen people sponsored a "Christensens' Temple excursion." Larry Shipley, Virginia Swensen, Beverly Calder and Daryl Ripley, visited Saturday and Sunday in Oak City. Daryl was a Marine Buddy Bud-dy of Larry's at Hawaii lor fourteen months. He will go on from Salt Lake to his home at Indiana, Monday Mon-day after spending the week in Salt Lake and Oak City. Miss Wilna Wixom spent the weekend home from Salt Lake, also Miss Dixie Dutson and five girl friends were home from Provo, where they are attending school. One carload of people went to the Manti Temple, Thursday. Mrs. Minnie Ashby visited a few days with her sister, Mrs. Mary E. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Olsen atten ded the wedding of their brother Ivan, and Pansy Harrel at Spring-ville, Spring-ville, last Saturday. Edwin Olsen acted as best man at the ceremony. Norman, Cheryl, Karan and Michal went with their parents. Karen Olsen won third place in the Walt Disney Coloring Contest. She received a good pair of Roller Skates as a prize. Mr. Collier Lovell visited in Delta on Thursday to celebrate his sister, Lydia Evans' birthday. Those attending the music festival festi-val at Hurricane from Oak City were Roberta Lovell, Margeret All-dredge, All-dredge, Arnold Talbot, Jesse Peterson, Peter-son, Newell Anderson, and William Dutson. They seemed to report a good time. We decided on our outline out-line in which to do our work throughout the year. Then we planned on going to the store next Thursday and learn how to judge different kinds of cloth. We also learned of our duties in our jobs in the club.
