Sheriffs parents, and were returning return-ing to their home in Centerville. Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Thompson are happy over the arrival of a little daughter at the Delta hospi tal. Leon has employment and will re main for some time in the city. Bishop and Mrs. Reed Nielson drove to Salt Lake Thursday, to take son Dee, who boarded the airline for Fort Sill. Oklahoma, from there he goes on to Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dutson and children drove down from Salt Lake and with the Ray Mills family went on to Puffers Lake for some fishing. Grandpa Ogden was out again Sunday and says he's been canning his own fruit, he also works In the field and keeps his house going. Scott Skidmore was released from his position as Institutional executive, because of his leaving for the Army and in his place was Mrs. Georgia Whatcott and Miss LaRae Shipley drove to Fillmore for the day Tuesday. Mrs. Rhea Whatcott went as far as Delta where she spent the. day with her mother, Mrs. Adelia Stephenson. Friday, the Carl Whatcotts drove to Fillmore (after Carl came down from Provo) for Saturday and Sunday Sun-day and Mrs. Rhea Whatcott went with them and then on to Kanosh where she Stayed with Iva and family. Monday morning.John and Connie Whatcott and baby Johnny, arrived from Modesto, Calif., for a visit with Mrs. Whatcott. Gordon Shipley and Blaine Nielson Niel-son drove back to Los Angeles, worked a week and now, they are home for the remainder of the summer. Mrs. Lucille Johnson and George arrived home Saturday after a visit In Los Angeles with daughter JoAnn, and other relatives, the past ten days. Sunday evening High Councilman Council-man Max Johnson was here with the program. With him as speakers were Mrs. Johnson and Kenneth Porter. Mrs. Carmen Hepworth sang two numbers and her accompanist was Miss Jane Nelson. Mrs. Porter and children were here also. Mr! and Mrs. Irving Nielson, Ivle J., Gary and Karen drove to Spring ville Sunday, to attend the Ivie family reunion. They made an over night stay up there. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greathouse have had most of their family home. They came for their grandmother's grand-mother's funeral. Mrs. Colleen Levi came from South Dakota, but has returned home, Mrs. Kent Larsen and children and Miss Deneece are still here visiting with the family. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Greathouse and children were also here. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nielson drove to Provo Thursday and took Mrs. Sudbury back to her home. She has been here the past three weeks with the Nielsons. Curt Johnson drove to Orem and brought his mother, Mrs. Anna McMahn, back and she has been here thru the week in Lucille's absence, visiting with Curt. Gordon Talbot of Magna is here visiting with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot. chosen to act, Mr. Herald Petersen. Jerry Bennett and David Anderson Ander-son were- sustained as teachers In the Aaronlc Priesthood and were presented by Counciler Rulon Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele and Sharrie spent last week In Salt Lake City where they attended the Steele reunion and also the Price reunion. Lena spent some time in the archives. Mr. Ladd Black showed slides of Germany, Italy, Spain and France to the MIA Special Interest group on Tuesday. He brought Spanish mantillas, money from these var ious countries, dishes and many articles of interest for the people to view. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Mr. Justin Smith visited last Tuesday and Mrs. Zola Bunker was a representative from the MIA Stake Board, Mr. and. Mrs, Sam Hales will be responsible for another an-other such evening in the near future. Watch for the date. Mr, and Mrs. John Wind just returned re-turned from a trip to Vale Oregon, Provo and Wendover, Grant Bennett was operated on and Is at the Utah Valley Hospital at Provo. Another daughter, Mrs. Cleo Campbell,vfrom Salt Lake City came the first of last week and took her mother on home. ' Miss Lorna Fay Campbell stayed to visit her aunt and cousin for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Max Whiting and daughters, Vicky and Cindy, from Bountiful, visited with Clarence and Leona (Whiting) Anderson last weekend. While they were here the two families made a trip out to Garrison (their old home) and Lehmans Cave. The Whitings returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carter and children, Micheal and Peggy, from Goshen, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson, last Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Anderson are sisters. Johnson left last Sunday for New York to visit their daughter Varda Barrett and her family. Lynn and Ray Finlinson of California Cal-ifornia are staying with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson. John-son. They expect their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Burnls Finlinson around the 27th of the month. Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell and family left Thursday lor Blanding for a few days' vacation. They will bring Kay home and leave him at Maple Dell with the scout troop. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bradfield visit ed with Mr. and Mrs. Randall Brad- field, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Nielson, re cently returned from Arizona, and Thello Nielson, visited the week end with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Nielson. Leamington Troop 149 and Explorer Ex-plorer Troop 2149, left Monday morning to spend a week at Maple Dell Boy Scout Camp, up Payson Canyon. Dean Harder and Floyd Bradfield took the boys up. They are Neil Finlinson, Russell Finlinson, Finlin-son, LaVell Bradfield, Eddie Bradfield, Brad-field, David Hanson , Glen Lee Roper, David Finlinson, Reese John son, Jay Grygla and Kay Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell Jr., of San Mateo, Cal., are visiting with 'lis folks in Leamington and her folks in Scipio this week. Williams and Mrs. Herman Youngberg from Murray, visited Mrs. Williams' brother, Enoch Gillen and family last Wednesday. Guests at the Enoch Gillen home Sunday were Mr. David Given Sampson and his son Paul, from Grand Junction, Colorado. Mr. Sampson was raised in the Gillen home and attended school at the old A. C. Nelson schooL Last Monday night, Mr. Darrel Bishop and his son Eddy, from Sandv. visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop. Sunday evening High Council man LaClead Nielson brought the program for sacrament meeting. The speakers were Pat Barney, Roy Twitchell, Calvin Skeem and Bro. Nielson. Allen Barney played two piano selections and Calvin Skeem sang a solo and was accompanied by Norma Moody. Visitors along with the speakers were Mrs. Niel son, Mrs. Bamey, Mrs. Skeem, Mrs. Effie Moody and her grandson and John Cahoon. The meeting was en joyed by all present Last Thursday Mr. and Mrs. RO' bert Anderson and family 'from Ephraim visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler and with Mrs. Lucille Farr and her children, who are here from Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Messenger and family spent Sunday at the Styler home. Little Steven Messenger stayed to visit this week but the rest of the family went back to Beaver Sunday evening. Mrs Evelyn Hawley took her mother, Mrs. Annie Skeem, to Salt Lake Monday, to keep an appointment appoint-ment with her doctor. Miss Joan Roberts is staying with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson, while grandpa Peter, is under the weather. Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy Stewart and family and Lois Peterson left on Saturday for a trip to Yellowstone Park. They expect to be gone a week. Bishop and Mrs. Lawrence Cropper Crop-per spent a few days in Salt Lake last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murray and sons, Jimmie, Dick, Bill and Douglas Doug-las from Gait, Calif., arrived in Oasis, last Saturday morning to visit their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hilding Sjostrom. Jack. Virgie and the two oldest boys left Tuesday for a little side trip through the canyons. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly left Sunday for Salt Lake where they were to join Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Kelly for a two weeks' trip up thru the North West and maybe even into Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nielson drove to Aberdeen, Idaho, last Saturday Sat-urday to get their daughter Karla, who has been vacationing there. Mrs.' Ralphs came back with them Monday night Thursday the group drove to Provo to attend the opera "The Merry Widow". Mrs. Nielson's brother Roger Ralphs portrayed the part of General Novikovich. . The Leamington 4-H clubs went to Oak City canyon last week to the Millard County Camp-out. La Priel Lovell stayed with the girls. Arlyn Finlinson, Bud Nielson and Robert Grygla went up to sleep with the boys. That evening a-round a-round the camp fire, Mabel Harder told a story to the group. Miss Nadine Pay stayed several days last week with Mrs. Randall Bradfield. Mr. Neil Rawlinson arrived last Thursday. He has a 21 day leave and will with his wife Verdene, visit friends and relatives here in this area before returning to Oklahoma. Okla-homa. Miss Laurel Robinson of Provo has been visiting several days with her aunt Jean and Uncle Floyd Bradfield. Sunday her mother and father came down and the group drove to Fillmore to visit Grandmother Grand-mother and grandfather Robinson. Sunday night services were under direction of Gilbert Searles. Mr. Searles and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor were the speakers. Prayers were offered by Spencer Nielson and John M. Nielson. Raymond Lovell was ordained a teacher. The YLMIA was reorganized releasing Louise Nielson. Eva Bradfield, Lorna Lor-na Wichmann and Ruth Finlinson make up the new presidency. Fred Finlinson and son Fred, spent the weekend at Jos. T. Fin-linsons. Fin-linsons. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Larson and children spent the weekend at Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Nielsons. Mr. John Prochke and 3 children flew down from Salmon, Idaho, to spend Thursday to Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson of LynndyL Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and Essie Anderson spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. They attended an Open House held in honor of John's sister, Mrs. Elberta Pass-water's Pass-water's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Jones of Mil-ford Mil-ford visited Sunday with their daughter Rosabelle Finlinson. They Drought Russell home so he could attend scout camp. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Dutson and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dutson. Arvilla Dean and Barta Davis spent Friday night at their old home. Mrs. Hoae and Mrs Nielson. both being from France, have been friends for some time and enjoy visiting. They plan to stay the week and visit points of interest in Utah.
