We are happy to see Heber and Vera Bishop back home and look ing well and happy. Mr, and Mrs. Carlos Bishop and family of Cedar City are visiting old friends and relatives here In town. Leonard Palmer has his mother visiting with him and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Blain Robinson will leave for Washington the last of this week. They will visit Rayola and family at Walla Walla and Melba and family at Moses Lake. Mr. and Mrs. George Cahoon had their son Garth, of Riverside, Cal., and Amelia Jane and husband, Wayne Cole, of Provo, to spend a radio speech. few days with them last week. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Corry took Mrs. Nina Mecham to Salt Lake, Wednesday and down to Orem to visit Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Robison. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Swensen and Anna Lee drove to Salt Lake Sunday Sun-day to take Harold Hepworth. He will leave for Alameda, California, where he will go aboard th carrier U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard. Harold has eleven months left to serve with Uncle Sam. Mrs. Geraldine Wright and two children Peggy Dee and Gordon have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wright, this last week. Gene and Harold Morris spent Thursday in Salt Lake attending a tractor meeting. Belva and Karolyn accompanied them and spent the day shopping. Sunday night sacrament meeting was under the direction of High Councilman Thermon Moody. He announced the choir would sing a special number with Blaine Spend love as soloist. Jack Fowles was first speaker. Karen and Annette Moody sang a duet, then Thermon gave the concluding address on, "How We Can Keep a Testimony of the Gospel." Bird Nest Cause of Fire What could have been a very destructive fire, occurred Thursday evening. Some of the Seventies and their wives were in the gymnasium preparing fcr their party, when they smelled smoke. Looking up they saw flames going out from the light fixture, In the ceiling. It seems a bird had gotten in and built its nest around the wires, causing them to short and catch fire. It was soon extinguished, but if no one had been there, it probably pro-bably would have burned our gym. ....we wisn to congratulate rrea and Elva Webb Skeem on the arrival ar-rival of a son. Bishop, Delta, Friday eve ning. Dinner was served to all the members and their husbands, then they played one high rook. Mr. and Mrs. George Cahoon won high score and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theobald got the prize for low, Rook Club Mrs. Enid Damron entertained the Rook Club Wednesday evening. Easter bunnies, that looked too real to eat, and Ice cream were served, then the evening was spent playing rook. , All the members and nine guests were present. Ruth Talbot and Nina Mecham captured 1st prizes, Arda Davis got guest prize, low score prize was won 'by Delma Jean Galli, and Arvilla Swensen and Belva Morris won grand slam. Coalese Club Beth Brown and Carol Bishop entertained the Coalese Club mem bers and their husbands at a din ner and card party Saturday eve ning at the Brown home. Prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bishop, high.'and Mr and Mrs. Leonard Palmer, low. All the members were present and had a wonderful evening. Birthday Party Barry Bishop celebrated his 4th birthday with a cow boy and cow belle party. Twenty-five little guests were taken on a hay rack out to the hard pan west of Hinckley. They played rough and tumble games, then were served a picnic lunch of weiners, beans, hot chocolate choco-late and cookies. They ended up with an easter egg hunt. 4-H Club The 4-H Livestock Club met on Wednesday night at the home of their leader, Waldo Warnick. Election of officers was held. Ray Bishop was chosen president, Jannette Hurst, vice president, David Stevens as secretary, Donna Warnick, reporter, and Richard Warnick, song leader. Waldo Warnick War-nick Jr. was elected Jr. livestock leader and Elden Hurst to assist Waldo Sr. I was looking for everyone to have a shovel in hand on Arbor Day. This old -desert can use more trees and flowers. Erma Petersen returned from Salt Lake City with daughter Colona, who returned home on Thursday taking Mrs. Janie Petersen, Peter-sen, back to Salt Lake with her. The Junior High School held their aance review Friday night, with many of our Junior High students participating. Max and Blanch Holbrook went to Las Vegas Friday, accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Holbrook, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lund of Bountiful.
