Murray was awarded this distinction dis-tinction as a result of his landing a jet plane at Chicago, without power, after a flame-out, without injury to himself or the plane. Poul-sen. Karl expects his release from the service in February, and the couple will return then to Delta. South Tract Review Our rain of Saturday nnd Sunday Sun-day was no joke. A real soaker, which wont into the ground about two inches and did lots of good in the fields, and killed the awful dust of the roads. Mr. Robt. Whicker .succeeded in getting us a nice flowing well at t he South Tract school house at the depth of near three hundred feet. This is a splendid improvement improve-ment for any school yard. Mother and baby are doing fine. Samuel Webb, of Hinckley, was a visitor at the Chronicle office Tuesday. He said he has 17 acres of alfalfa seed, and it will bring him about S120U. This makes him a gross income of over 571 per acre. A shower was given Miss Jennie Gray by the young ladies of Delta at her mother's home. Miss Gray will be married to Will Cook next Wednesday, November 15th. A nice lot of useful articles were presented presen-ted to the bride-to-be by her many friends. Dflta-Sugarville Line Completed I.nst Tuesday the Delta branch of the Salt Lake Route was declared de-clared finished and was turned over to the operating department of the company. A tri-weekly service will be established immediately to serve the stations on the branch. A mixed train will be operated from Delta on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until after the crops have been harvested. Part of this line has been in operation since the harvesting of the fall crops began, the work being be-ing done by the crews of the work trains. The line extends from Delta northwest to Lucerne, a distance of 13.6 miles with an extension of 1.5 miles toward Hinckley, from Moody Junction. 4.6 miles out from Delta. Frem the A. C.
