It was the biggest one so far, there being 163 present. Relatives from far and near gathered together togeth-er and had a fine time, visiting, eating and enjoying a program. Some of the out of town relatives, rela-tives, as well as those living near, stayed to watch the try-outs for queen of Days of the Old West. Officers for next year's reunion are Bert Hales, Deseret, Clifford Bennett, Tooele, and Garr Ashby, Holden. They will decide upon a time and place for the reunion. Our town was shocked and saddened sad-dened by the drowning of Judy Turner Thursday at the Sinks. She with a group of friends were in swimming there when the tragedy occurred. It was several hours before be-fore help could be obtained and her body was recovered after six or seven nours in the water. Our very deepest sympathy goes to the family, Mr. and Mrs. William Turner. Carl Benson left on Friday for Los Angeles for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alley Benson and his son Gene. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hogan were in Provo Thursday for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Kirt Overson and children are here from Cichigan visiting with Kirt's family, Mr. I and Mrs. William Overson and other relatives. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Jacobs and family came down fTom Stockton and visited with them. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes were here Thursday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough and family and Mr. and Mrs, Dick Hayes Jr. and children. Little Linda Hayes is visiting visi-ting with the Wallace Aliens in Missouri with their daughter May and family. Bud Best was a patient in the Nephi hospital all last week. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Best were able to bring him home on Saturday. Mrs. Rhea Whatcott and Mrs. Mary Johnson were in Provo for Leadership Week. ' Mrs. Josephine Sudbury is here spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nielson and family. She came down from Provo Friday evening. eve-ning. Sunday evening the 4-H girls under the direction of their leader the week at the home of his grand j Inez Ann Kelly, gave the program Conk Family Holds Reunion A family get-together was held for the families of three children of John Henry and Lucy Ann Bennett Ben-nett Conk Sunday at the resort in Oak Creek canyon. The reunion was organized on the spur of the moment, so to speak when Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Wheeled arrived from Midvale, Idaho, to spend their vacations. Plans were quickly made and family fam-ily members from Nevada,, Garrison, Garri-son, Provo and Salt Lake City were notified as well as those here in Millard county. Each family prepared a potluck Vlish and lunch was served to 117. A large variety of food was on hand and after everyone had eaten eat-en their fill, a talent program was enjoyed, using members from family fam-ily groups. The rest of the afternoon after-noon was .spent visiting. Children of George and Mary Conk Croft were Mabel Black, 9; Nora Cropper, Crop-per, 2; and Orvil Croft. Robin, .little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dutson had the misfortune mis-fortune to break her arm. Mrs. Eva Dutson brought word of these ac cidents when she arrived Sunday. Separs of Holladay, her son, Len, and grandson, grand-son, Keith Spears of Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Ike (Ruby) Colby, Sigurd and their daughter and hus band, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Burns and daughter, Debbie; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar (Roxie) Lov eland and son, Arlo, Sandy; Jay Keller and children, Carlene, Allen and Rickie, Missoula, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Keller and children, Larry, LaMar, Donna Rae, Mary Lou and Deane of Cut Bank, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ford and small daughter, Roxie, Sandy; Miss Mig-non Mig-non Loveland, Ft. Mrs. Masea Cropper went to Salt Lake City Monday. Mr. Jess Western from Salt Lake City spent Saturday at Deseret visiting with his mother, Mrs. Alice 'Western. Maylon Erickson and Kent Dewsnup Dew-snup were in Salt Lake Friday. Shirley Davis who has attended school at Cedar City during the past school year is at home with her parents for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Barnes and children from Portland,, Oregon are visiting at the home of Mrs. Barnes' Bar-nes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Bennett. Mrs. Georgetta Peterson visited a few days in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wade. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Crafts and son Daleand Mr. and Mrs. James Sims and children from Ruth, Nev ada visited Saturday and Sunday with relatives and friends. While here they attended the Hales fam ily reunion. Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Bidegood and daughter Doris attended the Cele bratiorf held at Milford Saturday. Mrs. Ulala Mace and daughters from Fillmore spent a couple of davs during the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dews nup. Mr. J. Adelbert Bennett left Tues day morning for Las Vegas, Nev ada where he will visit a few days at the home of his son and daugh ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Bennett Tryouts for "Queen" for "Days of the Old West" celebration to be held at Deseret on August 5-6, were held Sunday afternoon at the Deseret Fair Grounds. There were girls entered from Scipio, Holden, Fillmore Hinckley, Delta and Sut herland. making a total of nine entries. The final decision of the judges were: Queen,, Janice Western, Wes-tern, Delta; Attendants, Edith Peterson, Pet-erson, Hinckley and Elaine Turner, Holden. , ' The program at Sacrament mee ting was under the supervision of the High Priests of the ward. Spen Cer Webb took charge. Talks were given by Ralph Erickson and Ralph Crafts and remarks by the Bishop. Musical numbers were soxaphone solo, "Bless This House", by Kent Dewsnup and a solo by Jay Webb. Both musical numbers were accompanied ac-companied by Winona Dutson. The Young Men's Mutual officers have been changed. Released were Supt. J. M. Webb, Age Group Counselor, Coun-selor, Dale Carling; Activity Counselor, Coun-selor, Howard Jensen. The new officers are: Supt. La Mar Dewsnup; Dews-nup; Age Group, Maylon Erickson, and Activity, Keith Moody. Milden V. Scow was held over as secretary. secre-tary. The retiring officers were released re-leased with a vote of thanks for the fine job they have done. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Eliason returned re-turned home Monday evening after having spent the past several days at Ogden, Salt, Lake and Spanish Fork. Mrs. Mina Sappington and children child-ren from Idaho are here with her mother, Alice Western, who is ill. Mrs. Ruby Scott of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Dora McLellan of California Calif-ornia and Mrs. Daisy Owens from JUNIOR LEAGUE STANDING in Sacrament meeting. There are 4 girls and their prdject is sewing. Their name is the "Four Little Darners". The program consisted of talks by Bonnie Day and Bonnie Lovell, Inez Ann Kelly and Mrs. Ula Day, represented the mothers. Janet Stanworth sang a song and Carol Nichols sang a song. Mary Gene Lovell offered the opening prayer and Gloria Dey closed the meeting. Mrs. LaVeda Bishop went to Salt Lake Saturday to be with her parents par-ents on their wedding anniversary Sunday. Howard Roundy and his brother Paul left for California Monday morning and expect to be back 'Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bishop and family visited in Provo Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Reynolds, and brought home their daughter Barbara, who had visited there two weeks. Kearns visited Wednesday at the home of their brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Palmer. Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields made a trip to Salt Lake City during the week. Alden Shurtz from Fort Hood surprised his parents and friends, on Friday night. He came as far as Cedar City with a friend who has been released from the services. ser-vices. He has a 23 day furlough. We welcome him home again. Miss Maurine and Ralph Jenson from Salt Lake City visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. HaroM Jenson. Miss Evelyn Davis from Salt Lake City is spending her 10 day vacation with her parents,, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis. Mrs. Dick Clark and Mrs. Leo Davis made a trip to Salt Lake City on Monday and found the grand kids with the mumps. We congratulate Collene and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jer-gens Jer-gens and hope they have a long and happy life together. Sunday night the program was brought by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Adams. The trio played "Largo" and the prayer was by Sister Angie Warner. War-ner. The program was in charge of Verdella Adams. It was enjoyed by a large crowd. Fireside chat was held on the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz prayer was offered by Evelyn Davis. The time was spent watching watch-ing slides taken by Melvin Mem-mott, Mem-mott, Alden Shurtz and Virgil Lo-see Lo-see of their travels, afte.r which cookies were served to a large crowd. The closing prayer was offered by Bishop Harold Jenson. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Shields visited visi-ted their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields during the week. , Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hathaway from Tooele visited with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shields.
