The cake on the left is made from the yolks, and Mrs. Gardner says she will gladly give the recipe to anyone who wishes to have it. Her" recipe for Angel Food follows. ANGEI FOOD CAKE 12 egg whites from medium sized eggs l'i cups sugar l4 cups of cake floux V4 teaspoon salt IV4 teaspoons cream of tartar 3 4 teaspoon almond flavoring V4 teaspoon vanilla. (Note The egg whites must be room temperature.) The salt is added to the egg whites before they are beaten. The egg whites are then beaten on an electric mixer at medium speed, until they me stiff, but not dry. rue Hour is silted and tnen measured. Half a cup of sugar is added to the flour, and this is sifted three times. The speed is then turned down on the mixer, and to the egg whites is added the cream of tartar and the remaining cup of sugar is added gradually to the egg whites at low speed on the mixer. The egg whites are then removed re-moved from the beater. Fold the flour into the egg whites, carefully so as not to overheat. (Mrs. Gardner Gard-ner uses a rubber scraper for this.) Add the flavoring, still folding carefully. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Reduce the heat to 325 degrees, and bake the cake for one hour in that degree oven. Remove from oven and let stand with pan in verted until cool. Any favorite icing may be used. Popular with the Evan Gardner family is a seven-minute icing topped with shredded cocoanut or crushed walnuts. Marriage in Ely Is AltllOIIIH'CMl Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Cardoni of East Ely, Nevada, are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Barbara to Mr. Harold Ogden of Delta, on February 17. The young couple will make their home in East Ely after a brief honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada. Barbara is a graduate of White Pine high school and is a telegraph tele-graph oprator in Ely. ' Harold attended Delta high school He was released from the U. S. Navy in May, 1954, where he served in the Pacific area for four year. He is employed with Shell Oil Company at present, near Ely. Harold is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Armond Ogden of Delta. Fain Sly Home For Ilirtltday Party Are Planning Summer Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Rulon D. Anderson of Sutherland are announcing the engagement of their daughter, La-Rue, La-Rue, to Mr. E. Bertrand Rigby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thorval Rigby, of Orem, Utah. Mr. Rigby has filled an I, D S mission to the Central Atlantic Mission. Both are students of the Erigham Young University at Provo. A summer wedding is being planned. Ellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy j M. Ellis, of Dugway, on January ! '28. in the Post Chapel at Dugway. They were honored at a wedding wed-ding reception in the Fox Recreation Recrea-tion Hall at Dugway, on January j 31st. Theo is finishing her last year j of high school, at Dugway, and 1 will graduate in May from it and I the L D S Seminary there. ' Mr. Ellis was discharged from the U. S. Navy in October, 1054. They went first to Lansing, Mich., where Ray got his new Oldsmobile, and then drove south through Tennessee, and on to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. With children and grandchildren there were 27 of the family present. Here from Eureka were Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Laird and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pourley, Dean Broder ick came from Dugway, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Paxton came from Fillmore. From Delta were Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Broderick, Mr. and Mrs. Cloy Broderick, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Kay, and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Bunker. Also here for the party was their erandson. Don had recently returned from sea duty and a world cruise. LEAMINGTON Mabel Harder Mr. and Mrs. Bud MeCann returned re-turned Monday evening from their trip to California and other points. Mrs. Floyd Bradfield and children chil-dren visited two days last week with her parents in Fillmore. Mrs. William Mclntyre began teaching in the Delta high school last Monday in the Home Economics Econo-mics department. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rawlinson are the proud parents of a 'baby girl, who was born February 10. Ver-dene Ver-dene and children have been stay-ins stay-ins here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Welby Finlinson. The MIA is making plans to present pre-sent their three-act play, "Two Dates for Tonight" on Tuesday evening, March 22. The cast includes in-cludes Jov Nielson. LaPriel Lovell, Jene Bradfield, Eva Bradfield, Dick Nielson, Norma Nielson, Ray John- Qnn Rnrhara Nielson. Robert Gryg- la, Mabel Harder, Dee Bradfield, Shireiy Bradfield, David Nielson. and Burton Hansen. Clint Nielson is directing the play. The PTA sponsored a meeting Thursday evening in an effort to further the interest in the upper Colorado River Project. Mr. W. C. Cole of Delta, spoke to the organization organ-ization about the project and the Aqualante organization. Lorraine Nielson, the youngesi daughter of Wallace Nielson, is home again after having the cast removed from her leg. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson have received word that Mr. and Mrs. John Prachko of Ely, Nevada, are the parents of a baby girL Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson and family were Provo visittors Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nielson drove to Salt Lake City Sunday to at tend the farewell for Norma s cousin, who is leaving soon for a mission to Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harder and Mrs. Walker Finlinson were shop ping in Provo Saturday. Mrs, Angie Warner was hostess to the Lyric Lore Club at their meeting last week, at dinner, and a program later. Present were Verna Gardner, Mary Bassett, Harriet Eliason, Le-ona Le-ona Jeffery, Rayda Rawlinson, Cora Co-ra Harris, Olive Barney, Reva Skid-more, Skid-more, Maurine Anderson, Zerma Sehlappi, Alice Gardner, mem'bers and LaVina Bunker, guest. Mrs. Bassett gave the program, which was a book review of "My Heart Lies South," by Elizabeth Barton, and tells the author's experiences ex-periences after her marriage to a citizen of Mexico. The club also had a Mexican plnata, brought from Mexico to Mrs. Thelma Seegmiller by her son, David. Mr. mi Mrs. Venor Moodv are making plans to move from Delta I to Las Vegas, Nev., where Mr. Moody will be employed with Safe I way. He has been employed at I Quality Market in the meat de-; de-; partment for the past six years, and goes to Las Vegas, March 7. His family will join him there when school is out. Ervln L. Allred, employed In the grocery department of the Quality Market for the past eighteen years resigned his post last week and is now travelling as a representative of Glade Candy Co. He will maintain main-tain his home in Delta, which is centrally located in his territory, and will be home with Mrs. Allred and their family each week. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. George (Carol Hansen) Hatch on Feb. 24. Mrs. Adrian Hansen left this past weekend for Provo to be with her daughter and new grandchild. 5C Wives Take ViE2ler Vacation The J. C. Wives were entertained Wednesday at dinner at the Gem Cafe, with Golda Bishop and Mildred Mil-dred Allen as hostesses. After dinner they were taken on a winter's vacation to Florida and Cuba, with Dr. M. E. Bird as guide and narrator. Those enjoying the trip were Golda Bishop, Mildred Allen Pat Dalton, Betty Cahoon. Orthell T. Dennison left Monday morning for Camp Kilmer. N. J., and expects to leave at any time for Munich, Germany, to be stationed sta-tioned in Europe with the Armed Forces for 18 months or two years. He and his wife, Shirleen, spent an extended visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore A. Dennison, Denni-son, at Dugwey, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Lathan McNiel, at Logan. Mrs. Dennison is with her parents at present, and expects to join Orthell in Germany as soon as accommodations can be made. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Bishop, of Hinckley, and son Lowry, spent last week travelling, and visited in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chapman, at Payson with Mr. and Mrs. Lars Bishop, and in Sterling with Mrs, Lila Dennison. They were in Eph-raim Eph-raim Thursday night at Snow Col lege for the dance revue, in which their daughter Sylvia took part. Mrs. Lionel Riding went on to Salt Lake City from there to spend a short vacation. Jim Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas, left Sunday Sun-day morning after two weeks on leave from the U. S. Navy. He has completed boot training In San Diego and Is going to Pensacola, Florida for 20 months to aviation cadet school. Shipley Scott Sheriff and Fred Anderson were speakers at Sunday evening meeting. They gave very lnteres ting reports of their activities while in the army. Fred spent most of his time in Okinawa and Scott was stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia. A large crowd attended. Mr. and Mrs. Marlow Anderson and Mrs. Anderson's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hall, visited several days in Needles, California, with Mrs. Anderson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Taft. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell spent the past week visiting in St. George Geo-rge and California. Mrs. May H. Shipley visited In Sutherland several days this week at the home of Mrs. Winn Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Alldredge of Sunset, visited in Oak City and Delta with relatives. Ennis' father, William Alldredge, is In the hospital hos-pital at Delta. His condition Is reported re-ported as improving. Mrs. Leo Finlinson is visiting in Cedar City with her daughters. Isa-belle Isa-belle Williams and Clara Atkins. James Anderson is home for a few days from Overton, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Oran Finlinson of Payson visited in Oak City Sunday with Mr. Finlinson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Finlinson and other relatives.
