Thurs, April 29. 1954 ' . i Miss LeRae Stapley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stapley, of Cedar City, and her fiance Melvin Eallard, of Cedar City, spent the weekend in Delta visiting Miss Stapley's grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Stapley. They are planning plan-ning a fall wedding, and will make their home in Cedar City, where Mr. Ballard is employed at Eseal-a-y.o hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mecham and two little children moved from Delia last week to make their home in Bountiful, where Mr. Mecham Mec-ham is employed. I stbt Gorden and Bonnie Edwards, and ; their young sons. Kim and Craig, are expected to arrive in Delta this week to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eb Stapley and Mr. and Mrs. W. E, Black. They telephoned tele-phoned Sunday that thev had landed in San Francisco from Alaska, by ship. Shipley Pfc Scott Sherriff left Tuesday to go back to Camp Gordon Ga., after spending the past month with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Sherriff. Sunday' evening at services the Sheriff family gave a very good program. Talks were given by Scott and WHford .Evan Sheriff gave a poem, two numbers were sung by the entire family. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley and son Larry and daughter LaVon and children went to Salt Lake to see their new grandson born at Holy Cross hospital April 20th. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Genlel Shipley Martin Mar-tin they reoprt a very fine addit ion to their family. You should hear Ivan tell how wonderful this grandson is. Mrs. Shipley remained remain-ed at Murray for a week, the others oth-ers returned Sunday night. A ward reunion was held Saturday Sat-urday night April 24th. A large crowd was present enjoying the good banquet, good program and enjoyed visiting together with out of town visitors present. A Sam-oan Sam-oan young lady Miss Lily Swankie danced and sang on the program also two ballet numbers were danced dan-ced by Miss Sanford daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sanford of Sutherland. All other numbers by people of the ward were good. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson and children Ramae and Robert were in Cedar Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Ramae had her tensile ten-sile removed by Dr. Williams brother-in-law of Grant. Mrs. Arlene Nielson and children spent a few days at Cedar visiting her husband Fred who is working there. Mrs. Eldula Rawlinson and baby spent last week at Provo visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence East. Mrs. Calvin Dutson spent last week at Dugway visiting her parents. par-ents. Mrs. Clara Aktins and children visited a few (lays Trom Cedar her husband came Saturday and took her home. Friday night the scouts spent the night camping in the canyon. Reeve, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Bradfield bad as their guests over the weekend Mr. and Mrs, Joe Lcvra and his mother and niece from Ely, Nov., Delbert Bradfield and Jimmy of Ely also came to see Dell who is still ill. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Griffith' of Nephi, Bud Lambright and the J Lawrence Bradfield family also visited during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson1 were in Salt Lake last week where i they greeted a "baby son born April 24 to Mr. and Mrs. BUI Walsh. The Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Western, and ! young man w eighed in at six Mrs. Mina Steele, of Delta, went ' to Las Vegas. New, last week, and 'joined her daughter and husband ! Barney and Velta White, on a trip ! by car to New York City. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Bishop, the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Nelson and three children from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Nelson is Mrs. Bishops' daughter. Also Mrs. iBshop's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Florence McKinley from Rainer, Oregon, and Mrs. Bishop's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Likes of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ethel Growther of Provo is visiting with relatives in Hinckley. Hinc-kley. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Keller have returned to Hinckley after spend ing the winter in St, George. I A wedding reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. LeVon Terry was held Friday night in the Hinckley ward Relief Society. The young couple received many lovely gifts. Those from out of town in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. LeMar Terry of Provo, Mr. Louis Price, brother of the bride, from BYU; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Zurrwalt; and Mrs, Ellen Blun-dell, Blun-dell, aunts and uncles of the groom from Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Hurst and family made a trip to Morgan. They brought Mrs Hurst's mother, Mrs, O. W. Rollins back with them for a visit. Mr. and Mrs Vaun Bennett spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Douglas Allred attended school meetings in Salt Lake City Saturday. Mr. and Mrs Claude Warner and Mr. and Mrs Ward Moody were the speakers in Meeting Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Don A, Bishop and Mr. Dale Bishop visited in Spanish Fork Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Parker and family. The Lions Club held their Semimonthly Semi-monthly meeting Wednesday night in the school house. Mr. Douglas Allred and Mrs. Wayne Peterson were In charge of serving the dinner. din-ner. Mrs. Bishop underwent an operation April 3rd Mr. Bishop stayed at the home of their son 1-ars Bishop, who teaches Seminary at Payson, while Mrs. Bishop was in the hospital. After y.rs. Bishop's release from the hospital, she visited a few days with her son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Deem and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Deem na drove Mr, Bradfield home to Scipio. A meeting was held Monday evening to discuss the three mill i school tax levy. In charge of thej meeting were Mr. Eldun Hurst of Delta and Mrs. Bennett of Ilmc-J kley. I Mrs. Opal Lambright arrived h-' tliis week after visiting in Paso' Boiiies, Cal., with Mrs. Bessie Par sons, Bessie has been quite bad a-gnin a-gnin recently. Opal also visited in Mira Loma. Cal., with her other sister, Mrs La Verne Peters and family. The Seminary class under Mr. Lruid Cropper furnished the program pro-gram in church Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bradfield made a hurried trip to Salt Lake and back Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Harder drove to Salt Lake Tuesday evening where thev met two of Mabel's liith grand aunts who were returning to their Bishops. homes in Californa. and family drove their mother Mrs Weaver back to Brigham City over the weekend and enjoyed a family get-together there before Parley and Lucille and daughter returned to California. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barker visited vis-ited here last week with their son and his wife Kenneth and Alced-ean Alced-ean Darker at the chicken ranch. Jay and Lawrence Fullmer and their two daughters visited in Green River over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Poulson and their families.
